Honestly, better than you think...
17 March 2024
Cena exploring his comedic chops at full speed. Not just a few zingers here and there from his other flicks.. He owns this character. Much like The Rock in Be Cool. Film could be bit shorter in run time but flow was decent. Few over the top moments from Zac and friends much tolerable.

Original story for sure and positive it would've tanked horrifically if released in theatres... But it's good time waster for streaming. Will see how long it will last in top 10... Overall everyone seems to have a good time making this flick. Not a 10 rating but certainly not anything below 5 or 6 for sure. Pleasant crowd pleaser.

Light action fare
10 March 2024
I'll keep it simple... Not as bad as I thought... But not as good as you'd think. John Cena still forays into action flicks. Some are better written but still nice they place him in comedic type persona. Pace of film uneven at times.. Few plot holes but passable. Cristian Slater wasted here. Same with Alice Eve.. They both do what they could salvage with the screen time given. Not a lot of character development but decent... Shower scene not really needed. Overall would give it 6/10....seen worse with higher production values and with bigger stars. Good background time waster but not worth a re-watch... Couldn't get Spanish subtitles working but was still able to follow...

Slow burn vengeance flick
12 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Well directed film. Plot has hint of John Wick flavour (includes the hidden weapons cache scene)... Not an action flick if you're expecting one. A lot of staking out, following shots... Really plodding storyline... Narrative gets bit long in the tooth after some time. Wouldn't say you'd be wasting your time however, it may be worth a watch if you like the actors. Overall, it could have benefitted if it was say 20min shorter. There's no obstacles the main character overcomes as he travels all over the place tracking down his next targets. One task done, on to the next... Like a shopping list. Hence the average rating...

Better than Flash
26 August 2023
Funny thing about this flick is the fact you can enjoy it and not worry about reviews, quality, plot lines and acting... First half of movie seems plausible in terms of hokey storyline. Second half becomes more and more of Fast and Furious type action. Super impossible and improbable stunts.. Once you see it, it'll click in... CGI although not sci-fi related was much better than the eye-rolling scenes from The Flash... There's also small homage to original Jaws at the "dock" near the last 20min or so.. See if you can spot it... Overall, not a bad watch... (not a good one either)... 2hrs is still too long and if you're fan of the first one, you may be disappointed...

Decent flick for non-Transformer fans
6 August 2023
If you're a hardcore Transformer fanboy5, you'll likely be up in arms and rate this super low and bash it with all guns blazing... If you're casual sci-fi /CGI filled action movie fan, it's a really decent watch... Especially compared with the previous flicks. Prior ones I found pace was all over the place, rushed camera work and thin plot lines... This one felt more consistent and coherent and better written than others. Will see if this will continue on as the post credits seems to hint heavily at.. Characters in this one help make this one move quickly. Michael Bay did decent job providing more character development in this one.

Surprisingly better than you'd think
10 October 2022
Was sifting through and saw this short movie.. Trailer seemed like a fast paced "check your brain at the door" flick... Turns out to be a decent movie... You can tell writes out some thought into some character development here.. You can still see some over the top acting on few actors but you'll notice some key conscious conflicts that isn't ignored... Overall it has some heavy "Smokin Aces" vibe and hint of "MadMax". Clocking in just under 90 min.. It's a not bad weekend watch... You will see some familiar faces from other shows in supporting roles... No worries about any sequel here... Great option.

Great series... Look at it like Jason Bourne but with mind "twist"
22 July 2022
Warning: Spoilers
Only need a few words to describe this series.. "Just watch it"... As mentioned, you may see similarities with the Bourne flicks.. Only this time, the main character's mind is getting worse rather than getting better... Be curious if there may a second season...

Hilariously bad
6 November 2020
Yes.. The other reviews are pretty much spot on.. Acting is horrible.. They try but the script and dialogues are terrible. Set design looks like someone's basement.. For a plane that looks that big when taking off, the inside is so noticeably incorrect.. Production values are so low you will have to see through.. But with some drunken friends.. Kelsey Grammer can do better. Thomas Jane did the best he could.. (see him in The Expanse for some fine acting).. Denise Richards.. well what can you do...whole movie looks like it was filmed with an iPhone.. Soundtrack from the 80s.. . Lol.. Luckily it's only 1hr 22min.. Good luck through the first 10 minutes!

Not Jackie's best effort.....
6 September 2016
It's always a crap shoot whenever a Hollywood film tries to bring martial arts into mainstream North America. Jackie Chan has for the most part bridged that gap successfully while integrating comedy. Unlike with his past comedic partners in crime from Owen Wilson and Chris Tucker. Johnny Knoxville fails miserably. It's not entirely his fault. It's the film itself. It seems to me Renny Harlin is trying to mash bits of Shanghai Noon with Rush Hour with a dab of Supercop. The film doesn't gel at all. The flow is all over the place and scenes are too implausible. Each scene, seems to be a gag. There's conversation/joke/story line implied then at the end of the scene, the punchline. Then it moves on. Action scenes are obvious Chan-born, which sometimes do not feel unique unlike his past Hollywood films. Feels too contrived, not original enough. I am a big fan of Jackie Chan - Johnny Knoxville is coming along trying to be taken seriously, but Renny can't seems to improve either actors and that shows in this outing. His last decent film, Long Kiss Goodnight should be used as reference to make better action movies.

Spectre (I) (2015)

Clearly not the best Daniel Craig Bond movie - might be the worst
23 January 2016
Warning: Spoilers
I like to give movies some slack. I also have minimum expectations on movie franchises. Bond movies are one of them. Daniel Craig has been an excellent choice as the latest Bond. However, the execution of Spectre was a shock. Historically, Bond movies has a typical standard that everyone in the world expects to see. 1) Exciting opening scene (in this one, it looks like a rehash of a previous one and orchestrated very non-eventful. 2) The Bond girl(s). I guess the writers could not decide if it was Monica Bellucci or Lea Seydoux. Both are capable but did not have any flow in the entire movie. They feel as an add-on - not integrated to the story 3) Bond cars and gadgets. Both have been underutilized. Car chase was very bland. It looked like a Fast and Furious blooper or trial run. Thrill factor was non-existent. Speaking of which was the ever popular Bond gadgets. An exploding watch. yea... This did not make any impact (literally) in the plot. 4) Bond villain. Christoph Waltz is an excellent actor. Great choice for the role. Unfortunately he was given poor direction and even poorer lines to work with. I can see him struggle to be a bad ass but he just comes off as an adult brat with an axe to grind with his "brother". I felt bad for this movie as I am a huge fan of all the James Bond films. I have watched them since was a kid. This one falls completely almost as a wanna-be Bond film. If it was advertised as another "spy" movie with say wanna-be James Bond actor, the rating would be clearly a lot higher.
