An Unique mix of drama storytelling & brutal violence.
30 May 2005
Luc Besson knows how to turn a simple 1 2 3 action step, into a wonderful song & dance. His best work so far will always be LEON:THE PROFESSIONAL. Other great works under his wing is THE FIFTH ELEMENT, KISS OF THE DARGON, and THE TRANSPORTER. Now this is without question Luc's best since LEON, maybe even better.

Danny(Jet Li) has been raised as a dog by a ruthless gangster Bart(Bob Hopkins). Making him become his muscle, until one day at a piano shop, Danny sees a piano and new friend named Sam(Morgan Freeman). For some reason Danny has a sense of humanity and wants that back badly. So like dog running away from an abused owner, he goes back to the piano shop only to be found by Sam. Now he lives with Sam and his stepdaughter Victora (Kerry Condon), together they help rekindle what Danny has been missing all along.... LOVE. Just as everything couldn't seem better , an old friend comes to visit.

What makes this movie so great and powerful is not the action scenes, even though there are the most powerful and realistic I have ever seen, is the drama side of the story. And no it dosen't try too hard to be sad at scenes, because it is and it has all the right actors to make it effective. If they would have released it during Oscar season this year, the three leads especially Li would of had nominations. And the human side of the story is a gift of heartwarming love, while the action side of the story is so brutal, it's disturbingly real. When Li recovers his humanity, it is not only funny but sad; in a good way. With all the chaos going on at certain scenes, it's hard to believe that can from the same scene. For example; the scene where Bob Hopkins shines in a darkly moving scene about Danny coming home and then violence burst out of nowhere. It seems standard, but as I said the drama of this movie is real and so as the violence. Which is why I said it's a unique mix of drama storytelling mix with brutal violence.

A Wonderful, Wonderful Movie!
24 April 2005
Charlie Kaufman has written brilliant and fantastic movies; I come on BEING JOHN MALCOVICH, APADTATION, CONFESSIONS OF A DANGEROUS MIND, and even the flawed yet great HUMAN NATURE. Now this has to be his best film he ever wrote or will write again. Director Micheal Gondry, who tackled on HUMAN NATURE, redeems himself with this work of art. Who would ever think being so spotless will be so amazing.

Joel(Jim Carry) has just been through a horrible break-up with the love of his life Clementine(Kate Winslet). He is even more upset to find out that she had her memory erased of him. So out of anger he decides to do it too. Under the process, he finds out by the inventor, Dr. Howard Mierzwiak(Tom Wilkinson), that he will still be awake and active; just in his brain. Also under the procedure, he finds out that even though him and Clementine are no longer together, he still loves her. So he tries to hide her in memories she shouldn't be in.

This movie centers on how strong love is no matter how many fights or break-ups we endure. It weird, but seems like something that'll really happen. Jim Carrey, my idol as a toddler, has an unique way of being funny and serious in a calm way; a way we are not use to seeing him in and is brilliant for showing us he's emotions to this role. Kate, on the other hand seems to have a role we would see Jim in, but makes it her on and totally steals the show on the comedy side. Elijah Wood is a perfect example of being a evil weasel, showing a great potential in being a great villain, cough...SIN CITY...cough. I always wanted to see Kirsten Dunst high now I do and loved her for it. Mark Ruffalo has fun with his part and dragged me along with him. Tom Wilkinson has showed me that being so serious can be so funny at times. All in all everybody did great, I mean everyone. So watch this Wonderful, Wonderful film and feel happy with the one you love, through the good times and worst times. If loved this flick, then you most definitely will love this two, PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE and I HEART HUCKABEES.

Now that's a FIGHT!!!!!!!!
24 April 2005
I usually tell the plot of the film, but it's been two years now. So all I have to say is DAAAAMMMMMMNNNN!!! This has the best fight scene of all time; it's bloody, gory and kick a$$. Thank God the MPAA let director Ronny Yu have he's way and shine with this beautiful violence of mayhem. If seen this then see it again and if not, then get your a$$ out and get this movie now. Now the acting is great for the level it's on. But Robert England as always, steals the show from everybody on this flick. Kelly also does a fine job in her first acting role, she and FREDDY have a special and funny scene together. Ken Kirzinger does a neat job in filling in some big shoes left by Kane Hodder. Love this movie and all it's violence of the best fight of all time between the two men who scared the sh** out of me when I was little. Now that's a FIGHT!!!!!

It Will Strike A Serious Nerve.
23 April 2005
This is a movie not made for anyone, just for someone who is willing to listen. It's just like human life, it breathes, it walks, it laughs, and it dies. Paul Newman is a great actor, but this is his finest film to me. He plays Officer Murphy, an funny, serious and tired man. He's trying to stop this case of murders going around his town. He's sick of the racism in his precinct ,but never shows it. His partner(Ken Wahl) is getting married at a young age. And He is falling love with a Latino woman(Rachel Ticotin), who has deep skeletons in her closet. This movie plays like short stories involving Murphy, yet it never stays off plot. In a way our life works, the plot is ourself and the stories that inter-vein with us are people we know. Now this is a depressing movie, but it's great as hell and it will strike a serious nerve. How come some movies that are not based on true story, are sometimes the realist story you'll see in your lifetime?

The Best NIGHTMARE Of All!!!!
17 April 2005
Now I was and still am a strong fan/supporter of the NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET franchise. I've stayed with it even as FREDDY(Robert Englund) became a wisecracker. When I heard Wes Craven was going to make the new and last one of series, I was fabler-casted. This is a way I think all horror series should be put to the end if needed. The Best NIGHTMARE of all!!!!

FREDDY KRUGER has terrorized almost everybody in the world.... with his movies and fame shooting around throughout the world. In the real world, real life actress Heather Langenkamp and actor Robert England are somewhat sick of their know roles; well Heather mainly. Wes is writing a new script to end the series for good. But something strange is happening, something un-natural, unexplainable. The reel FREDDY is trying to get to the real world. This FREDDY is more evil, darker, twisted, scarier, and above all else, serious. He is also terrorizing Heather's son Dylan(Miko Hughes).

This is a truly scary movie that knows how to reach a nerve. The absolute best NIGHTMARE in the NIGHTMARE series. Robert still shines as FREDDY, giving him a new attitude, but also as himself. Heather is still beautiful and you can tell she really grow up. Miko's role is creepy and brilliant, the best child actor in a horror film since Linda Blair in the EXCORIST. Which reminds me, this is an adult horror film, not like those teenage slasher films. This centers on real adults and how they handle these problems. They should make more films like this. If enjoyed this I recommend these other grown up horror movies: THE EXCORIST, SESSION 9, WEINDEGO, CANDYMAN, a all M. Night Shyamalan's movies.

The Funniest Horror Movie In Years!
15 April 2005
Now FREDDY(Robert Englund) has been scary, creepy, serious, and funny at times, now in FREDDY'S DEAD:THE FINAL NIGHTMARE, he's just plain right hilarious. Director Rachel Talalay, who's been with the series for quite some time now, and writer Micheal De Luca has made a drop dead funny comedy to the brilliant horror film, A Nightmare On Elm Street.

Ten years after PART 5:THE DREAM CHILD, and three after the battle in FREDDY V.S. JASON. FREDDY has killed every last kid on Elm Street, except for last boy, who's name is John Doe(Shon Greenblatt). So he uses him to attract more people so he could kill again. Unknowingly he brings back FREDDY's Daughter(LIsa Zane), a child psychologist. Now not only do we learn more about FREDDY's past, but also the final battle he'll every face in his afterlife..... or is it.

This movie is not scary at all, but it is funny as hell. The acting is brilliant in dialouge wise. Who really stand out is Robert Englund as FREDDY, Shon Greenblatt as John Doe, who I actually think is Jacob from PART 5:THE DREAM CHILD. Each performance is not only drop dead funny, but fit perfectly with the story and timing. The 3-D sequence will most likely be the scariest, yet funny, scene throwout the whole movie. I love Lezlie Deane's character and body in this flick, her reactions with FREDDY is time-less. The death scenes are also brilliant in it's own right. One cameo by a recent Nightmare star is great. So watch and enjoy, don't expect a scary movie like the others. Just be prepared to laugh out loud.

More of A Soap Opera Than Horror.
13 April 2005
Not saying this is a bad movie like most people say, but if you look at it real closely; you will see this installment has the most drama than the others. Besides PART 7. Director Stephen Hopkins and (female) writer Leslie Bohem provide a great dramatic story with perfect comic timing by FREDDY KRUGER(Robert Englund).

Alice(Lisa Wilcox) and Dan(Danny Hassell) have been living like king and queen since the battle with FREDDY. All of that is about to change, because FREDDY is using their unborn baby, Jacob(Whitby Hertford), dreams to kill those close to her. The only person who can help her is the rest of her remaining friends and FREDDY's mother, who body has been missing since the birth of FREDDY.

Now the plot sounds like an average horror movie, but it's not. What most people complain about is how slow moving it is and not few people are killed like the other installment. This movie not about that at all, it's more on the human side than horror. Of course, you have those excellent one liners from FREDDY. So watch if your in for a horror/drama.

The Most Enjoyable of the Series!
2 April 2005
Now when A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET first came to play, it was one of the most scariest sh** you'll see in your life. PART 2:FREDDY'S REVENGE was disappointing. PART 3:DREAM WARRIORS kicked so much a$$ on so many levels in comebacks to me. Then writers Brian Helgeland & Scott Pierce and director Renny Harlin gave, for what I think is the most enjoyable sequel in the series.

The Dream Warriors may have kicked FREDDY(Robert Englund)'S a$$ in the previous installment, but that just slowed him down. Now he is coming back to wipe them out one by one. Kristen(now played by Tuesday Knight) knows she isn't strong enough, so she gives her powers to Alice(Lisa Wilcox). Now there friend our dying, and the bodies keep piling up. Will they be able to stop FREDDY.

For some reason this installment has more energy than all the others. Which explains why FREDDY jumps from being completely scary, to a comic with plenty of one-liners. This also has what I think the MOST disturbing death sequence through out the whole film. Lisa Wilcox reminds me of what Heather gave to Nancy in the first one, a strong female lead, ready to take charge of the screen. Robert as always gives FREDDY another highlight in the film series, just can't see who could play a better FREDDY, if not feel he's gloves. Watch it and enjoy.

A GREAT Comeback!!!!
29 March 2005
After the disappointing NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2:FREDDY'S REVENGE, I was a little sakey about the next installment. When I heard Wes Craven was coming back to write it and Heather Langenkamp reprising her original role as Nancy. I was shell shock by this flick. With Chuck Russell directing and killer music by Dokken, expect no trouble from this comeback.

Kristen(Patricia Arquette) been having dreams about a certain house on Elm Street and a disfigured man named FREDDY KRUEGER(Robert Englund). After a suicide attempt, she is sent to a psychiatric ward where the rest of the kids FREDDY haunts are. One by one the kids are dying, and one woman can help stop him, her name is Nancy Thompson(Heather Langenkamp). Ready to stop FREDDY once and for all with the help of the Dream Warriors.

This is a fun installment that really shows the darkly funny side of FREDDY, still manage to steal every scene he was in. The special effects are amazing for it's budget and year it took place in. To me FREDDY is my favorite horror villain of all time. There is also a huge improvement over acting and scares in this than in the last one. The deaths are also brilliant in creating ways of shock mixed with terror & sometimes comedy. If PART 2 disappointed you big time, then this is the sequel for you.

A Major Disappointment!
29 March 2005
The first NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET was a classic. It was a matter of time for New Line to make a sequel. The question was will it be better than the first.....NNOOOOOOO! Director Jack Sholder and writer David Chaskin has made a sequel not well like in my book, but had it's moments. Still a major disappointment.

Five years has passed since FREDDY(Robert Englund) terrorized Elm Street and it's children. Soon new kid on the block Jesse(Mark Patton) will learn the secrets hidden in a certain house on Elm Street that he and his family have moved into. Everything has change in the house except for the evil hidden in the within house. With the help of Lisa(Kim Meyers) and Grady(Robert Rusler), they find out what FREDDY really wants from Jesse....His Body to exit dreams to reality.

Now the first one was known to break the rules that made horror movies in it's day so routine, but why break your own rules that you set up in the first place. FREDDY has to stay in dreams and loves it there, seen in further sequels. The acting is okay, seeming the movie dosen't know if it's hero is gay or a hidden homosexual. Not saying that it's wrong, but stay with one thing man. FREDDY and one special scene involving a pool party highlighted the film. Great make-up effects also saves the film from being totally bad. If your a fan of the series, you will be disappointed.

A Dream Come True for My Nightmares!!!!!!!!!!
29 March 2005
Warning: Spoilers
In all my years of living, I have never come across a horror movie that made me have nightmares. Even the Excorist didn't give me nightmares, but when I first saw this as a younging, I didn't sleep in my bed for two years. Wes Craven has made a landmark of a film. Not only defining reason and doubt, but also reality.

Nancy(Heather Langenkamp), Glen(Johnny Depp), Alice(Amanda Wyss), and Rod(Nick Corri) are all having nightmares about a badly burned man with a right handed glove of claws named FREDDY KRUEGER(Robert Englund). Not only does the nightmares scare them more than anything ever, but the violence he lays down on them are shown in real life. So when Alice dies in her sleep, it's a huge wake-up call for them, especially Nancy. When more friends start dying and her parents(John Saxon & Ronee Blakley) won't believe her. She decides to fight FREDDY on both turfs.

This to me was the first horror movie I ever watched that actually scared me. The acting is great, but a brilliant performance by Robert Englund; who gives birth to the most haunting name in horror history. The death scenes are shockingly scary and original in sense. One gave me the willies to not sleep in my bed. A movie like this comes once in a while thanks to the great Wes Craven. Who's new movie RED EYE is gonna blow us away. Not every horror film can be original as this was and still is. Movies today seem to copy this or any other great scary movie at this time. And to think without this we would not have an MAGNOLIA, RUSH HOUR, Friday, FINAL DESTINATION, or any other great NEW LINE company feature film.

The BEST In JASON Entertainment!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
22 March 2005
JASON GOES TO HELL:THE FINAL Friday was a landmark to me, because they bring something fresh to the series. Flashforward 8 years later, me hearing JASON in space sorta bothered me a lot. I mean where's FREDDY V.S. JASON. I soon found out that this takes place after the battle, which explains the scratches on the mask. But what writer Todd Farmer and director Jim Isaac gave what I think is the best in the series and JASON entrainment.

In 2010, JASON(Kane Hodder) has been captured and studied on for a while by now, only planing the perfect escape. When so everybody dies except for Rowan(Lexa Doig), who freezes herself and JASON for the last 445 years. Now 2455, a school on a field trip from space has found both bodies and unthawed them. On there way to Earth 2, JASON awakes to weak havoc upon the ship, only to be rebuild to the ultimate killing machine...literary!

This movie is not meant to take itself serious as the last one, but to have fun with what they got. It's death scene are among the best I've seen in a long time. My favorites are the freezing head and screw, although the gore is tone down since the last one. The relationship between the robot K-M(Lisa Ryder) and her creator Tsunaron(Chuck Campbell) is cute and funny, something missing since PART VI:JASON LIVES. Full of fun surprises and a kick a$$ costume JASON has when he becomes UBER JASON. You will also say this is the best one in the series. So view with an open mind as I did and you'll appercite it too!

JASON Goes Wild!!!!!!!!!!
22 March 2005
After the unsuccessful Friday THE 13TH PART VIII:JASON TAKES MANHATTAN, which was dumb to begin with, Paramount gave the rights to JASON to New Line. Which I think was a great idea, because they explored JASON to a different state of mind. Writers Dean Lorey & Jay Huguely and director Adam Marcus took the series in a different new look.

JASON(Kane Hodder) somehow is out of New York and is back at Camp Crystal Lake, only to tracked down and killed by the F.B.I.. This is where the fun starts, JASON heart beats an evil tone and forces a doctor to eat it, gross I know. Now JASON is transporting into people's bodies. The only way for him to be reborn is a family member, that means Jessica(Kari Keegan) or her baby. And the only person who has the weapon to stop him is the Duke(Steven Williams), with the help of her ex Steven(John D. LeMay). Will they make it in time to save the day.

This has to be one of the top 10 goriest films of all time, see the unrated version. The deaths are over the top yet fit right for this particular flick. This to me should have been called JASON goes wild, because of the harsh punishments he gives people in this. All the acting is great, especially the bodies JASON jumps into. But Steven Williams stole the whole movie with his excellent one liners and top notch deliverance for all his scenes. The only thing that hurts this movie is it's lack to explain itself for most of it's scenes. For example, "How did JASON come from New York to here?, What is the real reason for JASON evilness?", although the last one was answered, just not the way you would expect it to be and not clean it up enough. Still a good movie, but confusing.

The WORST has Come!!!!!!!!!!
21 March 2005
Just when the series was getting back on it's feet, a man by the name of Rob Hedden comes along and destroys a perfect franchise. And the title totally mislead the fans of the series.

JASON(Kane Hodder) reawakens and hops on a cruse ship on it's way to New York City. Rennie(Jenssen Daggent), who had a run in with JASON, when she was young, comes along with Uncle Charles(Peter Mark Richman) to get way from problems. Boy was she wrong, because JASON is aboard. When the rest of the survivors get off the boat to New York(In which the movie takes place there for 35 minutes), only to find JASON there.

This is the worst in the series I love. When the main part of the title is called MANHATTAN, make sure the movie mainly takes place in MANHATTAN. Only two things saved it for being total garbage. 1.)Kane Hodder's always amazing performance as JASON and 2.)Peter as the evil a$$ uncle from hell. The deaths are also a little clean, but show just enough for taste, just always teasing us. The acting is also weak by lead stars. THe WORST in the series. Watch out for sexy Kelly Hu in her early years, she's still a looker.

The SCARIEST Of The Series!!!!!!!
21 March 2005
Now there comes a time when a sequel, especially one that spawned this far, is better than the first. it took five sequels of this to be just as good as the first. But writers Daryl Haney & Manuel Fidello and director John Carl Buechler, who also does the make-up effects, have made a sequel that is better & scarier than the first one.

Tina Shepard(Lar Park Lincoln) has psychic and telekinetic powers. Her doctor, Dr. Crews(Terry Kiser) says he trying to help her, but all he is trying to exploit her powers. Her mother(Susan Blu) knows just how dangerous they are, because Tina accidentally killed her dad(John Otrin). On one faithful day see try to bring her Dada to life, but brings JASON(Kane Hodder) back instead. Will her powers be a match to JASON's killing spree.

This is JASON at his best, even though the deaths are a little clean, his costume and face are the best put on JASON's body in the history of horror films. The way he acts and feels is full of emotion not shown in the series, which to me makes it scary as hell. When the mask came off I was scared out of my wits. Even when the mask is on you can feel the angrier. The scares come out of nowhere and the showdown between JASON and Tina is utterly spectacular. The mood is also set in a dark tone of realism in the way people are killed. Watch at your own risk!!!!

YES He Is Indeed ALIVE!!!!!!!
21 March 2005
After Friday THE 13TH PART V:A NEW BEGINNING, I was a little afraid of this installment, thinking they will ruin it. Thank God for Tom McLoughlin for making a fun and excellent sequel that actually stands out to be just as good as the original.

Tommy Jarvis(Thom Mathews) and a friend escape a mental hospital to cremate JASON(C.J. Graham)'s body, because he thinks he is still alive. When he opens he's coffin, only to find him dead, he jams a sphere in his chest just for the hell of it. Out of nowhere lighten strikes the sphere. And just like Frankenstien's Monster, JASON comes back from the grave the as UNDEAD. Now how can Tommy kill what's already dead and heading home to Crystal Lake(now called Forest Green).

This is one of my favorite horror films of all time. The death scenes are inventive and sometimes funny. the way Tom though of to bring JASON back was sweet. Jennifer Cooke as Megan has to be the sexiest eye candy of the series. Thom Mathews's Tommy is also a standout role and the best one. In each film there is a different character study of how he is becoming. And David Kagen role is a screen stealer. The comedy dosen't even hurt the film. A must see for JASON fans, because this is like a love poem. This is also the start of Zombie JASON.

Not All That Good, but Not The Worst Either.
21 March 2005
Now this film has gotten some bad reviews, but you can't blame writers Martin Kitrosser, David Cohen, and Danny Steinmann(who also directs) for trying to bring something new to the series. Don't get me wrong, this is not a good film, but it's not bad either. It ain't the in the series.

After killing JASON in Friday THE 13TH:THE FINAL CHAPTER, Tommy Jarvis(John Shepherd) has went crazy. He is then sent to a summer camp for kids just like him. When he arrives a person is murdered, but not by JASON. Out of nowhere, JASON appears and start killing people in creepy ways. But all the clues end up pointing to Tommy. Is it JASON, Tommy, or somebody there.

I like the fact that they tried to invent something new to the series by not having JASON....JASON. John Shepherd's role as Tommy stole the show with he's quite but deadly attitude. But what really hurts the film is the annoying characters that show up in the film. You just can't wait for them to die. The Sheriff had a great role, but wasen't in it long enough. Now this is no a bad film and it's not a good one. Still Not The Worst in the series.

Brutal and Back To It's ROOTS!!!!
21 March 2005
After Friday THE 13TH PART 3:3D, I had feelings about the next installment. I'm not saying it was bad but it seem to be slacking down a little. But writer Barney Cohen and director Joseph Zito surprised me by going back to it's roots and having the violence extremely brutal.

Looks like that ax in the head didn't keep ole JASON down. He awakes in the hospital, only to add more corpses to the morgue, to return home to Crystal Lake. There he finds even more kids show up at Camp for some late night fun. So JASON is up to he's old tricks again. But this time he faces a boy name Tommy Jarvis(Corey Feldman), who is an make-up wizard. Can Tommy stop JASON.

This is a good installment that really reminds me of the first one. That intriguing tone, because JASON still has the mask on we just don't see it until 20 minutes at the end, a way to go back to it's roots. The violence on here has darken up with brutal and disturbing death scenes. And to me it has the number 1 best death in the whole series, which is JASON'S death himself as a human. The acting is great and amusing at sometimes, thanks to Crispin Glover. But all and all, the first one is still better. If your in for a brutal film, then I recommend. The darkest in the series.

The Mask Arrives!!!!!!!!!!
19 March 2005
Steve Miner returns to direct this installment with a major highlights one being the deaths are more gorier and yes, the mask arrives!!!!!!!!!!

JASON(Richard Brooker) is still alive haunting the woods of Camp Crystal Lake, waiting from new pray to step in he's boundaries. When stoner pals get ready for a high weekend, they find out that all roads in & out of town are closed. Giving JASON a chance of killing freedom. And this time he has found a new mask to hide he's awful face.... A HOCKEY MASK.

The gore factor is at a nine on this installment, with surprise death sequences that are truly amazing for what's it worth. This may have scared me into stop doing handstands. The acting is still fair game by the leads Dana Kimmel & Paul Kratka, but who really had the upper hand at acting is Richard Brooker performance as JASON. He make the mask JASON wears feel like a face. A face we would fear every Friday THE 13TH.

Intriguing Work Of A Film.........
19 March 2005
Let's just say the first is always the best, but a film spawning ten other sequels, there has to be and is others just as good or better than the original. But this when first viewing has a intrigue place upon it separating it from the others. Cause remember this is before Jason got into the picture, so we don't know who the killer is and when we do it is when as first viewed remarkable.

Camp Crystal Lake has been shut down for 20 years due to a vicious murder of two teen counselors. Now new counselors are about to re-open the camp site. Soon they will learn it was a bad mistake. And campsters start dying the horror begins, but not an enjoyable horror as many others before it except for HALLOWEEN, but a serious film with shocking death scenes thanks to gore master Tom Savini.

What makes this film intelligent in the hint of scares is the intrigue of not knowing who the killer is or any clue of why he/she would do such evil acts. The he/she hides in the distance, not giving no clue to what's up in that sick head. The death scenes are so realistic looking it's disgusting. And the acting is great for what it is, especially by Adrienne King and Betsy Palmer, who is just a scene stealer from a brief appearance. And don't miss Kevin Bacon, who's game is more fun to me since i first saw this.

Here Comes JASON!!!!!!!!
19 March 2005
After the brilliant Friday THE 13TH, Hollywood of course got greedy and rushed in a sequel with the help of writer Ron Kurz and director Steve Miner. What they deliver is a good installment and top notch death scenes not surpassing the first, but still shocking.

Five years after the events of the first film, the survivor of that horrible day is killed by JASON, the boy believed to be drowned for the last 25 years. So now he's finishing off what mama started. Making sure no one goes to Camp Crsytal Lake. But when a new summer camp is opening up right next to his domain, he decides to kill first and ask questions way later.

No the hockey mask dosen't come in folks, and no this is not better than the first one. But this one has a playful mode than one, which at it's time was serious. The acting by Amy Steel and John Furey is more of something to root for, because we do care if THEY do die or not. And JASON performance seem lock on, although KANE HODDER is a saint when he plays JASON. And the death scenes are toned down a bit, but still leaves us with that strange feeling in our stomach. Especially the bit involving a wheelchair, what will just make you say "Now that's just plain wrong."

Bad Boys II (2003)

Great!!!!!! Funnier, but not better than the First.
19 March 2005
Eight years have past and a lot has change between the special effects and the two leads themselves. Will has got buffer and Martin has got bigger.... just in the face. Yet for a movie sequel that's almost been 10 years apart, eight actually, it really does live up to the hype. And I must say that it is funny as hell it is still not better than the first one. Even though it came so close.

Mike Lowrey(Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett( Martin Lawrence) are still partners after all these years and still have that love-hate thing going on. But un-notice to Mike, Marcus is on the verge of quiting and hasen't told him yet. And un-notice to Marcus, Mike is dating Marcus' sister, Sid(Gabrielle Union) and hasen't told him yet. And un-notice to both of them, Sid is working undercover to stop a big drug lord(Jordi Molla)'s ring of X pills smuggling. A case they two are working on as well.

Now this film is utterly hilarious, improving up on more comedy than the first one. We got a$$ jokes, gay jokes, racist jokes, and a extra joke on rats, that well never make you look at them the same way again. Yet for a movie like these it is handle in a very light-hearted way. And the action is way more violent & entertaining than the first one, going way over the top, which in these day and age what isn't. It had all the things set right to better than the first one, but it didn't follow it's story as well as the first one. The bad guy who is extremely eviler than Noah on part I, isn't shown that much. Which to me hurts the film, because without him none of these would take place, so without showing him respect he is in this 2hr & 27min movie for at least 45 or 50mins of screen time. But other than that this is a great movie, but not better the first one. And I wish Peter Stormare was in this flick longer, for which he stole every scene.

The Best Buddy - Cop Film....
19 March 2005
This is the best Buddy - Cop Film to me, although only two it seems to have a variety of different moods like others sequels. The second one Is the LETHAL WEAPON Series and the RUSH HOUR Films come in at a good third.

Mike Lowrey(Will Smith) and Marcus Burnett(Martin Lawrence) are your average buddy cops, you know one's married and the other is a player, but one thing they have in common is their bad altitudes for solving cases and a lot of body bags. When one million dollars in heroin has been stolen by a evil Frenchman named Noah(Tcheky Karyo)in their prescient, a close friend of Mike dies and the only witness is named Julie(Tea Leoni). The boys get set to handle this case with some very violent and hilarious outcomes.

Now this movie has one of the best introduction to the main roles ever. The action scenes are greatly handled and never blown out of proportion. The acting is top notch and Martin and Will have what I think is their best roles to date. Michael Bay may have also delivered he's best film, next to CON AIR. Now part II is also great, not better, but funnier.

House Party 3 (1994)

BETTER than the First!!!!!!
5 March 2005
Now after the sorta disappointing HOUSE PARTY 2: THE PAJAMA JAM, I had mixed feelings the new one. Only to find out my worries has been blown to beats, because director Eric Menza has turned the HOUSE PARTY series to a new leaf. And actually made a movie that is better than the first one.

Kid is getting married to a new love named Veda(Angela Means) and Play is the one having seconds thoughts about the wedding. So in good favor he decides to throw the last party of parties....A Bachelor Party. But Showboat(Michael Colyar) wants rap group Sex As a Weapon(TLC) signed way before the wedding. Kid's nephews(Immature) and Uncle Vester(Bernie Mac) come into the mix to save or destroy the day.

It's about time are Kid has grown up and it shows for both of them. The dance scenes are not here or miss, but the music is banging hard and rough. And this is way more funnier than 1 & 2 and has the funniest dinner table scene I've seen in my life. Outbeating the Klumps 10 to 1. And Bernie Mac's scene stealing performance has the same energy as the late Robin Harris had one the first one, but more edgier & kinetic. Fun from stat to finish. Better than the first one and all in the series.

More Silly, but Still Good!!!!
5 March 2005
After the success of HOUSE PARTY, I would expect NEW LINE to make a sequel. And I was a little scared, because the first one was amazingly great and this seemed rushed. But what I got from writer Rusty Cundieff(TALES FROM THE HOOD & SPRUNG) and director Doung McHenry and George Jackson made a good, but more silly sequel to a classic.

Kid'N'Play are going to college, well just mainly Kid, to leave the world and it's problems. While there Kid learns the lesson of responsibility....the hard way. Play gives the Kid's college money to a beautiful, yet crooked music promoter(Iman). And with Sidney(Tisha Campbell) wanting to see new people, Kid comes to Play with help and come up with a PAJAMA JAM PARTY.

Now this one's music is way better than the first one and is a little more funnier than one, but it just dosen't come close as being as great as the first. The hurt comes from two things. 1.)No Robin Harris to give us some more hilarious lines, because of he's death. 2.)Is the cartoon-like sound effects that make the movie just plain silly. Sometimes it works and a lot of times it don't.
