Scotty Bowers demyths the myth of Archie aka Cary Grant
12 December 2023
"Scotty & the Secret History of Hollywood" is a more honest version film, of his book, "Full Service: My Adventures in Hollywood and the Secret Sex Lives of the Stars" reveals the true Bisexuality of "Archie" & many others in the old Hollywood. This film tries to omit the history of the man as "Priscilla" tries to omit true hostory of Elvis Presley's life. It is difficult to encompass a famous life in an hour to two, but in time , the more complete truth of such lives will be revealed, long after this film has faded. All due respect to any surviving members of their families. Where is that kind of truth and honesty in this film?

John Curry, ice skating tranformed upon his arrival
2 August 2019
John Curry, transformed the world of ice skating. Cultural differences not unlike today, but more welcomed, or at least legal than the turmoil times of the late 70's thru the mid 80's.( A president who was a bigot then as well as now.) A lifetime documentary of a boy who was denied by a to stern father who denied his son ballet lessons, yet accepted the "sport" of skating on the ice. A world where John Curry used his natural born talent to break all barriers of a corrupt sport, ice skating to become an Olympic world champion, only to try & be outed by a talentless media, sound familiar? Despite these obstacles, Philanthropists recognized truly groundbreaking talent was set on a course, where John would transform that sport into new, wondrous, expressive ballet & dance moves which were stagnantly absent before.from Great Britian's top venue to the US ' Metroplitan, and beyond, Curry's catapulted our culture into the future. But for every shine of brilliance in him, there were demons.Demons of trying to find love in his orientation during a time when no one knew, and political correctedness prevented finding a cure into the world of AIDS. Being on top of a sport is a lonely place, John curry's world full explains his dispostion, and at the same time, displays for all time the importance his his work of transforming the world of ice skating for future generations with a dignified empathy of this special and unique gay man

Poe, a gay Cf'er & a couple stuggle to survive
11 July 2019
This film is NOT to the faint of heart. the fmelae CF'er's sister is indirectly connected with the emotions, just as strongly as Poe, a gay CF'er who is every bit as much a part of this tearjerker, as the other protagonists Will & Stella. Anyone who does not cry watching this film is not even human. Empathy towards anyone who is ill is a human trait, too bad some guys do not have even that in today's world. The importance of affordable health care for ALL should be a top priority not the "non tax status" of hospital billion dollar enterprises. Life is too short, living it with anyone to share your emotions, tales, struggles with is what this film is about.

feel good meets outrageous blackmail of a guys orientation gone sour , yet no accountability
28 February 2018
Warning: Spoilers
Nick Robinson, a handsome protagonist, does not have too far too stretch to make this character believable, but the role is not just not challenging. My city has no less than 5 advance showings, with fewer than 25 to 50 people attending, though the promotional companies are not allowing many to attend in their far too few invitations, so they are to blame as to not seeming to care about promoting this LGBT film, sad. The atmosphere is quite sugary with no home challenges, and the stigma of the school still doesn't seem quite realistic enough, as there is only mild bullying at best. The Vice Principal role is appealing. The weird guy who outs Simon, even after blackmailing him of his orientation, is left alone, not expelled or even more than one stern talking to, not actually believable; perhaps this film wants to convey a "Christian" atmosphere. If this is your reality then you shall like it. Sidenote: critical acclaim to the actress who begs "Help me Jesus" to the proper take on her daughter mocking modern society NOT taking the same view of Heterosexuals as they do towards LGBT.

Johanssen wrong choice, miscast, Woody Allen 4 Oscar wiiner Respected Genius anyways
30 January 2018
Woody Allen, among the Elite of Film Director's in Film Industry, & 4 time Academy Award winner, has created a luster which continues to shine since before his Masterpiece, Mahattan, who else can speak (Woody is so leveled headed, "bragging" is never synonymous with this genius,) So many others can learn from his Sanity,. Oddly enough Johansen, who is a rare miscast, nearly ruins the film, but Woody's genius saves the day. Filmed in London, a refreshing departure from Woody's New York domain, where filmmaking representation has never been equaled on Mr. Allen's respected level.
