That Awkward Moment (2014)
The Surprise of January
Well, i will be honest, when i attended the premier of Awkward Moment last night, i was much more interested in the dinner i ate before the movie. However it was pleasantly surprising. With realistic humor at every turn it reminded me of conversations that i would have amongst some of my own friends. The general realism of "guy" humor was so beautifully betrayed. It is undoubtable that Zach Efron has come a long way from that pop diva that starred in high school musical. Thankfuly his taste in women didn't go away either, with some of the best looking actresses i have seen in a under rated comedy movie. The important thing was i remained laughing throughout the entire movie, which by my books is the general goal of a comedy.
Lone Survivor (2013)
Blood, Guts, and an American Classic
Lets be honest with ourselves. When you walk out of the movie, you may have the irrational urge to go and take up a rifle and join the Navy Seal program as soon as possible. When i first saw that Mr. Walberg would be the main actor in this movie i kind of chuckled at thought of him playing a Navy Seal. We are talking about the same guy who played the stud racer, bully beat down type character in the Itallian Job ten years before. But back to Lone Survivor. If you are one that might be known to have a faint heart, this movie is most certainly not for you. This might just be one of the most graphic movies i have ever seen. Blood, Guts, and an Instant American classic.
Ride Along (2014)
The Chuckle of the Month
LOL, honestly i still chuckle thinking about some of the moments in this movie. Ice Cube and Kevin Hart were the dynamic duo in this great stage 3 comedy. Tika Sumpter also looked fantastic, for those who just go see movies to see some of Hollywoods finest. The plot line was very so so, and sadly extremely predictable. However some of the innuendos and background things were awesome. As a proud nerd in movies, and games, i saw several things that just made me smile with recognition. The villain of the movie was however riddiculously horrible, but Kevin Hart was awesome. He truly did make the movie what it was, a barely above decent comedy that has received way more recognition than it deserves. 6/10
Paranormal Activity: The Marked Ones (2014)
Exceptional Series Goes Wrong
I personally was a reasonable fan of the Paranormal Activity series. With that being said i was at all the premiers when the movie came out, and i left reasonably satisfied until i saw this movie. With hardly a scary moment in the books, Paranormal Activty the Marked Ones sends you out with a sour taste in your mouth, compared to the rest of the series. Within reason the movie wasn't terrible, however the genre of this movie is horror and i didn't exactly leave the movie shaking in my boots. With that being said i don't think i will be attending a sequel to any more paranormal activity movies, the great franchise his been encompassed by money as a failure.
