The Predator (2018)
Are you kidding me!!!!
You want to watch this movie expecting more than you bargained for you get twice the DISSAPOINTMENT!!!
300: Rise of an Empire (2014)
if its your thirst for blood and gore glory, this is it!!!!!!!!!!
OK. When we deal with a potential sequel to an astounding original we as the audience expect it to much brilliant than the original. Sadly, this sequel falls way short of the expectations.
Anyway, its what i thought when I saw the movie today. It had all the elements of a gore fest, nudity and blood. Body parts fall everywhere with a neatly done fight choreography ( whoever did the fight scenes should be applauded. Honestly it was neat ). Fast moves and flying body parts made it look like it was made just for the action scenes. There was no drama in it like its predecessor. 300 was more romantic in everything but Rise of an Empire is just hell bent on Vengeance.
Rodrigo Santoro has nothing to do in the film like in the original except make a commanding appearance. He is nothing compared to Eva Green. She is the only one who stands out. Sullivan Stapelton does his best to be a warrior. Lena Headey narrates the whole film as does David Wenham in the original. if there should be a sequel I strongly suggest Xerxes fight. The sound was awesome. Graphics eye catching. Fight scenes brilliant.
Finally, its suitable for those who thirst for blood and glory and not for the weak hearted.
My Favourite line in the movies "YOU FIGHT HARDER THAN YOU ****.
Mr. Peabody & Sherman (2014)
who's the master?
OK. I went to this movie just because 300 wasn't yet released. Yes, it was fun and since it was animation you can expect sort of goofs and innuendos. Well, lets get to it, shall we?
An highly intelligent dog named Mr.Peabody adopts a kid named Sherman ( This made me finally understand it happens only in kids movies) and sends him to school. The kid is also intelligent thanks to Peabody's time machine. This gets him into trouble with a bullying girl named Penny. To solve the matter Peabody invites the girl's mother and father to dinner. Sherman inadvertently shows Penny the time machine and she takes a trip to past. During the trip they break the time line and all hell breaks loose. The rest is how Peabody solves and brings everything back to normal.
OK. Time travel and its rules are always the same in every movies it was used. The idea of a genius intellect of a dog adopting a boy did not sit tight with me. And the kid is also called a dog because his father is a dog is a little uncalled for. The rest is fine. I had a lot of laughs, tried to forget the innuendos, Agamemmnon smelling his armpits,at times Ty Burrell did sound British, Patrick Wartburton as always is hilarious with his gravel voice, time travel for kids-unnecessary(they just wont understand).
Other than all that you just might should take your kid on the weekends as a fun family movie to watch. Go for it.
Non-Stop (2014)
not an edge of the seat thriller
I had high hopes when I bought the tickets for this movie. I liked Liam Neeson since Taken. I haven't seen much of his films previously. This film feels like Taken that doesn't include his family.
Liam Neeson plays Bill Marks. An divorced alcoholic husband and father looking almost suicidal because of the death of his daughter. He is a disgraced cop now working as an Air Marshall. He boards an Non-stop flight from New York to London. The flight crew know about his situation and also believe he is ready to crack sometime soon. Mid way in the flight he receives a text message saying "One passenger will die for every 20 minutes if 150 million dollars are not sent to an account number".
OK. Sounds Interesting. But it seemed impossible as to how to kill the passengers. How do you poke a hole through the bathroom to reach the cockpit? If the hole was made, how was it made and why was the crew not aware of it?
The concept is similar to the Taken series. How? Instead of his family here a Boeing plane is "Taken". The movies does not drag, thankfully.
The casting was fine, and it had a Hitchcock feeling to the whole story.
Watch it. Its worth for a time pass
