The evolution of dumb...
24 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
The story of when Harry Dunne met Lloyd Christmas and they must help foil a scam as the headteacher of their school has set up a plan with their lunch lady to step up a special needs class so they can get a cheque and flee of to a better life. Harry, Lloyd and some other classmates are thrown into the mix of those who are classed as "special-needed".

This film starred: Eric Christian Olsen, Derek Richardson & Eugene Levy.

DUMB AND DUMBERER:WHEN HARRY MET LLOYD was released in 2003. This is a disappointing movie although both of the main characters could almost pas as Jim Carrey and Jeff Daniels. However there were only a couple of laughs in this film so I don't really recommend it but this probably deserves higher than a 3.4 or whatever it has on this site.

He's the daddy...
16 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Two fathers lose their jobs in product development at a large food company and are forced to take their sons out of the exclusive Chapman Academy and become stay at home fathers. With no job possibilities on the horizon , the two dads open their own day care facility, "Daddy Day Care" and employ some fairly unconventional and side-splitting methods of caring for children. However they face competition from the headmistress from Chapman as more of her students are joining Daddy Day Care.

This film starred: Eddie Murphy, Jeff Garlin, Steve Zahn & Angelica Hudson.

DADDY DAY CARE was released in 2003 ad is and is an OK family comedy. If you have children there is a big chance they will enjoy this film because even I got a few chuckles out of it. This film isn't something I would probably watch again but I do recommend this film to people with young kids as they will most likely enjoy it. So if you have kids that go to a day care centre, you should show them this film.

Overrated...
12 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
An Olympic gold medallist in wrestling Mark Shlutz joins the Foxcatcher team and teaches a bunch of people who hope to find the same success as him. He becomes close to the owner of Foxcatcher John E. DuPont. When one day their relationship comes to an abrupt end. DuPont appoints Mark's brother to take over. Things go from bad to worse for Mark and DuPont which could lead to DuPont taking serious actions.

This film starred: Channing Tatum, Steve Carrell & Mark Ruffalo.

FOXCATCHER was released in 2014. In my opinion this is an overrated film and was disappointing for what I was expecting. The most shocking thing about this film is when you get to the end and you realise that it was based on a true story which makes you think for a minute. However, this isn't a film I would watch again and I believe that you could do better things in 2 hours and 20 minutes that this film runs for. Not really recommended.

A good book, a good film...
4 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
A boy who was convicted of stealing a pair of shoes that were donated by a famous athlete to an orphanage. However he is innocent and blames this unfortunate events on the supposed family curse. The judge however disagrees and sends him to a camp in which he must dig holes every day because the warden believes treasure is below the ground in what used to be a lake before it dried up. However as time passes he puts together clues that he learned through stories from his grandfather from when he was a child and finds out that the loot actually belonged to him and his family.

This film starred: Shia LaBeouf, Sigourney Weaver & Jon Voight.

HOLES was released in 2003. In my opinion the book this film was based on is good and so is this film. I did enjoy this film especially the first half. However when you get to the hour mark the film slowed down for me and dragged on a bit. However overall this film is good and I do recommend it.

***/***** Good film.

End of Days (1999)

Poor film that had potential...
3 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Jericho Kane finds himself caught in a battle against Satan who has came to Earth to find himself a mother for his son. As the clock winds down toward the fulfillment of a prophecy that would usher in the end of the world. Jericho must protect the girl and save the world from Armageddon.

This film starred: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Gabriel Byrne & Robin Tunney.

END OF DAYS was released in 1999. This is a really bad film in my opinion. I hated this film. Arnie was disgraceful playing a role that he has played a couple of times, a person who works in the emergency services and his family is killed when he can't do anything about it. I'm talking about this film and COLLATERAL DAMAGE. I really don't recommend this film it is a stupid action/horror/thriller whatever this film is. It had potential and blew it all away with stupid acting performances.

Phone Booth (2002)

A ringing phone has to be answered...
3 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
Stu Shepard is an arrogant publicist lying his way to success in New York. Everything changes when he unknowingly answers a call in a phone booth that he has been using to call a woman behind his wife's back. Now he is at the mercy of the caller who is watching Stu's every move with a high calibre sniper rifle somewhere in the buildings above. He is holding him hostage with the demands he comes clean to his wife and everyone else that he has cheated. He must rely on his wits and the unlikely help of Capt. Ramey. Stu knows that his life will change even if he does escape the booth alive.

This film starred: Colin Farrell, Forest Whitaker & Kiefer Sutherland.

PHONE BOOTH was released in 2003 and is a good film in my opinion. It is a very suspenseful film and really messes with your head. Fantastic acting performances from Farrell, Whitaker and Sutherland really helped this film otherwise it would have been a boring story of a man stuck in a telephone booth unable to convince the police that he is not a killer. However with me being a huge fan of Sutherland I knew at the end that he had survived.

The story of DAREDEVIL...
2 January 2015
Warning: Spoilers
A man who is blinded by toxic waste is helped as his other senses are enhanced to superhuman level. This helps him fight crime in his neighbourhood and look for the people who murdered his father. In his human life he is a lawyer who falls in love with the daughter of a billionaire. When his girlfriend and her father are murdered by BULLSEYE who was hired by The Kingpin. Daredevil seeks revenge against the two criminals despite being the one blamed for their murders.

This film starred: Ben Affleck, Jennifer Garner & Colin Farrell.

DAREDEVIL was released in 2003. In my opinion this is an OK film but was not as good as what I was expecting. The standout performance in this film was Colin Farrell as BULLSEYE. I thought he gave a really good performance. Ben Affleck is a great actor in my opinion but it wasn't one of his best performances in this film and I was left disappointed. The fight sequences are decent in this film and one decent performance by an actor leaves you wanting more from DAREDEVIL. I don't really recommend this film because it isn't that good but there is certainly worse films that you could see

Absolutely terrible...
24 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
5 friends go to a remote cabin in the woods for a break however they don't realise that they are all going to become sacrifices as they are being watched by a company and all five must die in a particular order to stop the gods who used to rule the Earth from coming back and ending the human race.

This film starred: Kristen Connolly, Chris Hemsworth & Anna Hutchinson.

The Cabin in the Woods was released in 2012. This film was so stupid it wasn't even funny. On this site it says that it is a comedy/horror. I don't think this film was trying to be funny, just the sheer stupidity of it made it laughable. If you are thinking about watching this film just save yourself the time and don't because it is such a let-down it is unbelievable. I don't recommend this film what so ever as it is one of the stupidest films I have ever seen.

A film that wasn't bad but certainly wasn't great...
7 December 2014
Vincent LaMarca's job is to arrest killers, but this job is different. The suspect he is tracking is his own son. As a cop, LaMarca must bring the accused to justice. As a father he must try and help his son. However LaMarca owes his son more than that as he walked out on him and he is also plagued by his own bad memories of his father and how he was executed for murder.

This film starred: Robert De Niro, James Franco & Frances McDormand.

City By The Sea was released in 2002. When I saw the trailers for this film I thought it was going to be really good. With a great actor like De Niro and an up-coming star in James Franco I was really expecting good things from this movie. However, in my opinion this film didn't deliver. It was OK but it bored me some parts and apart from the end scene I wasn't as moved as what I had expected from this film. I don't recommend this film because you will probably be left disappointed.

A decent thrill-ride...
1 December 2014
Warning: Spoilers
For six years, Washington D.C. has been murder free thanks to astounding technology which is able to identify killers before they commit their crimes. But when the chief of the Precrime unit is himself accused of a future murder, he has just 36 hours to discover who set him up - or he will fall victim to the perfect system he helped create.

This film starred: Tom Cruise, Colin Farrell & Max Von Sydow.

Minority Report was released in 2002. This was an OK film in my opinion but it wasn't as good as what I had heard. I think this film is definitely overrated but I did enjoy it to a certain extent. It may have dragged on for a bit long. However this film did have very good special effects. So it was an OK action film but I don't think I would be interested in watching it again. I do recommend if you are a fan of Tom Cruise sci-fi movies.

Not as good as the first one and quite disappointing...
23 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A young film student becomes convinced that the events of the first Grave Encounters is real and that the host is still stuck inside the asylum. Him and a group of his friends go into the asylum and start to realise that Grave Encounters was not a hoax and that is is in fact reality.

This film starred: Richard Harmon, Stephanie Bennett & Sean Rogerson.

GRAVE ENCOUNTERS 2 was released in 2012. It is a sequel to the 2011 horror film GRAVE ENCOUNTERS. This is a found footage film and I am not a great fan of them kinds of films. However the first film I did think was OK. I thought this film was boring and consisted of boring scenes throughout this film. I don't recommend this film because I think you will be disappointed by the end of this film.

Ben Affleck is amazing...
21 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A lawyer and a businessman are involved in a crash on a busy motorway in which the business man crashes his car so that it is out of use and the lawyer is in a rush so leaves him stranded on the motorway. What the lawyer doesn't know is that the business man was on his way to court to fight for his rights to see his children and stop them moving half way around the world. On the motorway the lawyer left the file that contains huge evidence for a court case. The two are engaged in a battle to get what they want.

This film starred: Samuel L. Jackson, Ben Affleck & Toni Collette.

Changing Lanes was released in 2002. In my opinion this is a decent film but had potential to be better. However in this film Ben Affleck was amazing in this film. He is one of the best actors in the film business. Samuel L. Jackson was good but I will remember this film for the acting performance from Ben Affleck. I do recommend this film because it has good actor performances and a good plot with decent execution.

A decent comedy...
17 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A bombshell is dropped on ALI G when he is told that the government want to close down the leisure centre where he teaches young kids. He decides that he is going to go on hunger strike until they change their plans. When that fails he gets an offer to enter politics, unknowingly to him, he has been asked by a person who desperately wants to become Priministor and has used Ali to try and ruin the real Priministor's reputation so that he will resign. However when Ali is a success he is stitched up by the person who entered him in the first place he decides to put it right.

This film starred: Sacha Baron Cohen, Charles Dance & Martin Freeman.

ALI G INDAHOUSE was released in 2002. In my opinion this is a good film that will make you laugh and entertain you for 90 minutes. I do recommend this film because it is a good comedy which will make you laugh and if it doesn't then you clearly have no sense of humour.

Not scary...
12 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
A couple expecting the birth of their first child are violently attacked just minutes after the culprits murdered their next door neighbours. When the police burst in and shoot the culprits dead, the blood from the bullet wound of one of the murderers is transfered into a doll. Sometime after the attack, the doll returns to take the soul of their new born baby.

This film starred: Annabelle Wallis, Ward Horton & Tony Amendola.

Annabelle was released in 2014 and is a spin-off to The Conjuring. In my opinion this is a poor film, I didn't find it scary and in fact quite boring. There was a couple of chilling scenes like the basement elevator scene but nothing to rival the scary scenes in the conjuring. I don't recommend this film because chances are you will be left disappointed by this film.

A good war movie...
2 November 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Joker, Animal Mother, Gomer, Eightball, Cowboy and more are all plunged into a boot-camp hell pitbulled by a leatherlung D.I. who views the would-be devil dogs as grunts, maggots or something else. However when Pyle suffers a mental breakdown after being beaten by fellow platoon members with bars of soap. He proceeds to kill Sgt. Hartman and then put his rifle in his mouth and kills himself. One year later Joker is now a Sgt and is a war correspondent for Stars and Stripes who works with Private First Class Rafterman who is a combat photographer. Joker and Rafterman are sent to Phu Bai and meet with the Lusthog Squad. Joker and Rafterman accompany the squad through the battle of Hue and then interview the Lusthog squad on their opinions on the war. After this Joker and Rafterman proceed to accompany the squad through the rest of their battle including a gun fight with a Vietnamese sniper who turns out to be a kid.

This film starred: Matthew Modine, Adam Baldwin & Lee Ermey.

Full Metal Jacket was released in 1987 and in my opinion is a good war film. This film keeps you entertained throughout it's 2 hour duration time and this film also contains savage action and has some comedy dialogue. I do recommend this film because it will entertain you.

What would you do if you lost everything?...
30 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
When Los Angeles family man and firefighter Gordon Brewer loses his wife and child in a bombing. He suddenly finds himself plunged into the complex and dangerous world of international terrorism. The official investigation seems to be going nowhere and Gordon knows that if the person who is responsible for murdering his family is ever going to be brought to justice he will have to do it himself. Gordon's mission takes him deep into the guerrilla zones of Columbia. But just as he is closing in on the terrorist known to the American people as "The Wolf."

This film starred: Arnold Schwarzenegger, Elias Koteas & Francesca Neri.

COLLATERAL DAMAGE was released in 2002. In my opinion this isn't a terrible film but it definitely won't be remembered as one of Arnie's best action films. This film did try and add a twist in at the end, but in my opinion the film would have ended better if the director kept the film like you think it is going to be. I don't really recommend this film because it was disappointing but I do emphasise that this film isn't terrible like it's reputation may suggest.

Jack is back...
27 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
By the time she was sixteen, Molly Keller had already lived to tell a very bloodcurdling tale: she was the only survivor of a violent massacre while on an otherwise peaceful island vacation with her friends. Disturbed by her horrific past, Molly focuses all of her energies in researching the psyche of serial killers. This leads her to the forensic science program at Berkeley under famed author and man hunter Professor Martin Kane. But before long, the evil that claimed Molly's friends is seemingly loose once again - this time on the campus. A reluctant Molly joins the study group which is fixated on tracking the gruesome murderer. But events take an eerie turn when the students discover that the killer's modus operandi matches London's oldest unsolved murders: those of Jack the Ripper. Molly's friends fall victim around her, one at a time, while the remaining group work feverishly to uncover the identity of the copycat killer. As the past re-awakens, Molly is forced to face the terrifying secret behind the stalker's return, and the entire class soon realises that it's a history that they don't want to repeat.

This film starred: A.J. Cook, Bruce Payne & Jurgen Prochnow.

RIPPER was released in 2001 and is a slasher film based on Jack the Ripper. This film ran for a bit too long as it is 1 hour 50 minutes long, no slasher film is on for this long. So not very surprisingly this is a slow and boring horror film based on a Jack the Ripper copycat killer. I don't recommend this film because it is not very good and not a film that you will want to tell your friends about or a film that you will remember for very long yourself.

Jason X (2001)

Evil gets an upgrade...
20 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
In the year 2455, on a routine training mission, a team of students is about to learn a terrifying lesson. Through the years, Jason Voorhees has claimed over 200 victims. Now, the legendary killer from Crystal Lake is back, hurtling through space and hunting new pray.

This film starred: Kane Hodder, Jeff Geddis & Lexa Doig.

JASON X was released in 2001, eight years after Jason Goes to Hell, and 21 years after the original Friday the 13th. In my opinion this is just another bad Jason film, the last good Friday the 13th film I seen was Friday the 13th Part 5:A New Beginning. Parts 6,7,8, Jason goes to Hell and now Jason X are all awful films. I don't recommend this film because it is another normal Jason film with an even worse plot than before with the whole space situation is just terrible. When he gets blown to bits and then reformed into some invincible super-killer, that is awful and the film overall is so bad.

*/***** Very poor.

Training Day (2001)

An OK cop drama...
19 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
On his first day on the job as a narcotics officer LA cop, Jake Hoyt is sent out on the streets with veteran detective Alonzo Harris for a day that will make or break him. Pass the test he becomes a detective. Fail, it's back to traffic duty. As Alonzo pushes his young charge to break rules and push lines, Jake's misgivings about his superior grow as he begins to suspect that Alonzo does not simply push the boundaries. He has become a rouge cop.

This film starred: Denzel Washington, Ethan Hawke & Eva Mendes.

Training Day was released in 2001, and in my opinion is an OK movie, I did enjoy some aspects of this film but not all of it. I do think that Ethan Hawke and Denzel Washington are great actors as they have both proved it in other films but I can't say I really enjoyed this film. I do recommend this film to people who are a fan of cop thrillers because they will enjoy this film, however I thought it was slow in some aspects and this is not a film that I would rush to watch again anytime soon.

The Stuff (1985)

It's so bad...
28 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Two people find white stuff oozing from the ground in a pile of snow, one of the men tastes it and thinks it is the best thing he has ever tasted. When they bring it back more and more people start to like it so the ooze is marketed as a desert called THE STUFF. When a little boy sees the desert move by it's self in his fridge he decides that the desert is evil. He continues his assumption as his family start acting really weird and buy lots and lots of the stuff and try to force the boy to try some. When he escapes from his family he meets up with a man who also thinks something is up about this desert. The two join together also with a woman and also an African/American man. The group of people persuade the army and they must battle a horde of people who have been overtaken by the evil desert.

This film starred: Michael Moriarty, Scott Bloom & Andrea Marcovicci.

THE STUFF was released in 1985 and is among other films in it's genre like Body Melt, Street Trash and The Blob. Out of them three films I have only seen The Blob and In have to admit to liking The Blob. However this film is a disgrace the acting is terrible, the plot is even worse and there is nothing at all to like about this film. I really don't recommend this film as it is a dreary mess.

Better than the second, not as good as the first...
18 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Gabriel is now a human after the events in The Prophecy 2, however the war in heaven still rages on. Pyriel rises to power and now he wants to destroy mankind. Standing in his way is Danyael who is the product of an angel and a woman. However Danyael is unaware why he is being courted by Pyriel and needs Gabriel to help him understand his purpose.

This film starred: Christopher Walken, Dave Buzzotta & Vincent Spano.

The Prophecy 3 is the concluding chapter of The Prophecy trilogy (not counting the two rip-off sequels that came out in 2005) and The Prophecy 3 was released in 2000. In my opinion this is the same as the second film only slightly better. The Prophecy 2 was dark and quite boring, this one tried it's very best with what they had left after the second film and in my opinion, I didn't like the second one, so for me it was too much of a task for the producers and director to do. I don't recommend this film unless you are a big Prophecy fan, because other than that this film will probably bore you like it did with me and in my opinion the only decent one is the first one, so I will keep that in my film collection but I will not miss the second one or this one on my shelf.

The Little family just got bigger...
16 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
When Stuart Little, an adorable little mouse with a big heart, is adopted by the Little family as a brother for their son George he finds a lot to adjust to in his new home. Whilst Mr and Mrs. Little fall in love with Stuart straight away, George doesn't know what quite to make of his new brother. And when Snowbell the family cat finds he has been displaced by a mouse, plans are soon afoot to get Stuart out of the Little house for good.

This film starred: Michael J. Fox, Geena Davis & Hugh Laurie.

Stuart Little was release in 1999 and is a good family movie in my opinion, it isn't great but it is a heartwarming film about families and how much someone so little can mean so much to a group of three people. This film also has a hint of comedy which I found enjoyable and Michael J. Fox was really good as Stuart Little. I do recommend this film, and I highly recommend that you buy this DVD for your kids because I know for a fact that they will love it.

The killer is back...
14 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
When Water World want to capture a Great White Shark too be their latest attraction, business is looking up until the Shark claims it's latest victim in a person who works at Water World and who's job it is to feed the shark. When all the visitors see the death of this man, Water World must act quickly. However things get from bad to worse when the shark escapes through the gate and gets loose into the ocean. It is now up to a Marine biologist, a girl who has come face to face with the shark when it killed her sister one week prior to these events and a Australian TV presenter who has his own show on the discovery channel.

This film starred: Thorsten Kaye, Nikita Ager & Daniel Alexander.

Shark Attack 2 was released in 2000, one year after the first film. I hated the first film, I found it absolutely awful. It was boring and very very cheap and it showed. Shark Attack 2 was even worse, the actors are awful. When the shark kills someone the blood is purple when you see it in the ocean. This is probably the second worst film I have ever seen behind The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (1974). Please, I beg you don't watch this film otherwise you may want to remove your eyes with a spoon.

Warning: Spoilers
When an accidental death is given on discovery of the remains of a top scientist, within the body of a hammerhead shark, his closest friend Marine Biologist Steven McRay is not happy with the explanation and travels to investigate further, where he discovers that his friends death was not an isolated incident and that the local population have been terrorised by a rash of Shark attacks.

This film starred: Casper Van Dien, Jennifer McShane & Ernie Hudson.

Shark Attack is a truly disgraceful film, I can't stand low-budget films like these, they simply are terrible, it has cheap thrills and characters you simply don't care about. I don't recommend this film as it boring, cheap and stupid.

A good film...
6 September 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Robert Clayton Dean is a successful Washington D.C. attorney who without his knowledge is given a tape that ties a top official of the national security to a political murder. Instantly every aspect of Dean's life is targeted by a lethal team of skilled NSA surveillance operatives, who wage a relentless, ultra high-tech campaign to discredit him and retrieve the incriminating evidence, Dean must protect the tape to reclaim his life and prove his innocence.

This film starred: Will Smith, Gene Hackman & Jon Voight.

Enemy of the State was released in 1998, and in my opinion is a good suspense thriller, Will Smith is again awesome in this movie, like he is in pretty much every movie he is in. However at some points in this movie it does slow down. but overall it is a good movie.

***/***** Good film.
