The characters are well-developed from the start. The acting is excellent. Characters have chemistry. You get drawn into their lives. The story arc is excellent as it unfolds.
What ruins it for me? -Actors only get so much dialogue. In an otherwise well-written script why waste so many on the 'f' word and other derogatory cursing? Use those words to develop characters and relationships. It makes it sound like a couple of 12 year olds who just learned bad word and think they are cool.
-Graphic sex is cheap and appeals to prurient interests. There's plenty of free porn on the internet. This, like the language, is overused and detracts from the story.
-The hymn 'What Wondrous Love Is This' is used in many episodes. For those who are unfamiliar with the words:
1 What wondrous love is this, O my soul, O my soul, what wondrous love is this, O my soul! What wondrous love is this that caused the Lord of bliss to bear the dreadful curse for my soul, for my soul, to bear the dreadful curse for my soul!
