Lights Out (I) (2024)

Had potential. Lacked polish and a cohesive lot that made you wanna care.

Frank Grillo as a badass with impossible hair. Even after he slept he woke up with perfect hair? Little details, make a difference.

I didn't watch much of the trailer and did not realize that's based on "fight club", cage brawling.

The characters had potential, particularly the main baddies , but it all goes down like a dud firecracker.

Some of the plot at first was not so cohesive, for example, wondering who that guy was who was rummaging through that ladies house, only to find out that was her boyfriend? Very unlikely looking pair.

At the end of it all what I wanted to see was more of Scott Adkins who was barely in it. This was a Frank Grillo movie.

I came to see Scott, but it's not what I got.

So so film that lacked originality, suspense and true gripping action.

Land of Bad (2024)

Bad is right! Cliche, screenplay and dialog that even AI could do better

Sometimes I just wonder if movies like these are produced by money laundering profits.

Who wrote this crap? The screenplay and the dialog is just horrendous,

Let's talk about Liam's call name "Playboy". OMG. More cheese than the cheese in Wisconsin? Really? "Playboy". Hello, it''s 2024.

And talk about cheese, Lordy, Russell looks like he ate all if it. Dude, you were Maximus, how could you let yourself go so badly. There were times I thought you were John Goodman BEFORE he lost weight.

The dialog is so bad, You feel nothing for these characters. They are all caricatures. I mean it is BAD!

The fight scenes are ridiculous. A barrage of bullets and barely a scratch. Look at Liam after he gets severely ass kicked and he walks around normally with a smudge of red paint on his head.

Contrived action, unbelievable scenarios and outcomes, Russel Crowe at his worst, LIam as a rookie turned Rambo, add more cheese and you get this poop fondue.

Wrath of Man (2021)

This is the third time I tried to review this. The first 2 were they denied. Do not waste your time. I expected more of Guy Ritchie and I went by others comments here.

No spoilers. Ridley Scott has done it again! The cinematography, the casting, the story lines, the lore and allegories that speak to us now. It's so beautiful and draws you in. Not since the better days of GoT and recently, the designed to be only one and only one season, brilliant "Devs" have I been pulled into a show. Fist clenched after an episode has finished and not being ready to leave that "world". Golden material still exists after all. Thank the heavens!

Brightburn (2019)

For an actor who has been in so many things It was really unsettling to see him cross the camera three times. As an actor you never look at the camera or even let your eyes for a nanosecond look into it. He did it three times?! He's not an amateur you would think. And when he was in the scene having romantic baby talk of sorts on the sofa with Elizabeth Banks, he kept looking away to her right when talking to her, when in real life the character or you would think would be looking into her eyes. Other than that the movie was dark and an interesting change.
