The Unholy (2021)
That doll is evil I tell you. Evil! EEEVILLLLL!!!
Unknown being with supernaturaly abilities emerges in a small town. In the first time of human history has the ability to actually do proven miracles. The story says that the being is evil and everyone else is parroting that in the reviews. Nobody seems to stop and think that maybe the being is... not evil?
How did people determine that the thing is evil? It looks ugly, so it must be evil. It doesn't want to die, so it must be evil. This book we found written by some random people living nearly 200 years ago says it's evil, so it must be evil. The film is realistic however, as the churches and American medical system would surely try to kill the thing if it was real, as it would be putting them out of business.
In the end, they kill the thing, so little Billy or what-his-name can be crippled for the rest of his life along with everyone else. But at least the drunken washed up journalist can feel good about himself simping for a being that doesn't real.
Ghost in the Shell SAC_2045 (2020)
Just not very good
This is Ghost in the Shell in name only. The 2 star rating is mostly because of the story. It's very poorly told.
The characters are very different from the characters that have been introduced in the previous series and movies.
Not quite sure what was the point in making this. Seemed very rushed. The ending was also very anticlimactic. It's something to watch in the background while you're doing something else, much like everything on Netflix.
The Tomorrow War (2021)
Can I Copy Your Homework?
This movie is a bad copy of "Edge of Tomorrow". The plot makes less sense and everything is made badly. Not so badly that it's unwatchable, but it's just bad.
Why make this movie? What was the point in telling the same story again? There's a global pandemic going on since 2020 and people risk their life to produce this garbage. It's like a middle finger to the entire human race and all that we have accomplished. I'm not angry, I'm just disappointed.
The Dark Tapes (2016)
Boring and old
Paranormal Activity all over again with some bits shamelessly copied from other similar movies, but with a budget that makes the special effects look bad. Not that it matters, even if the special effects were good, it would still be pretty terrible. I've seen better acting in x-rated movies.
The point of having a small budget is to improvise and try to generate something new, not copy stuff other people have made and do it badly. Almost seems like it was done badly on purpose, as in to cater to the hipster judges at the awards.
Don't get fooled by the awards and nominations. This movie either had no competition in the awards or they were the kind of awards where "everyone is a winner".
