America: Imagine the World Without Her (2014)
Finally
It takes accountability and integrity, which very few have together anymore, to tell a story from all sides. This one does. Sure you can argue all of the what if's. But we know about every decision, videos no longer have a safe haven, they are out there, testimony from those all over the world. While a certain party wants to fundamentally change the legal system and govt system to a UN controlled and WHO assisted organization, this country is still the only one which at least on paper it is more right, than the others. But we are at the pitchfork in the road, do we choose to be controlled more and have less to say about our lives, or do stand out as we have in our short time on the planet as the richest nation of resources? This movie advises the appropriate path.
Killers of the Flower Moon (2023)
Identical to Oppenheimer in one way only.
Time - Long. That where the similarities end. While Oppenheimer was a movie which had you feeling of being in a car without brakes, the editor of Killers of the Flower Moon should have used theirs and cut this film down about 50-55 minutes. The length did not support the script. Acting should have been better, and we expect more from such an experienced cast; and maybe that is why many will leave the theater disappointed. Based on a number one New York Times book, the story of corruption and murder is long, but perhaps missed the best parts of the decades long stain of typical and predictable behavior of "money breeds contempt." See it if you want, for me, I lost 3-4 hours of my life I will never get back. Scorsese directing history is full of hits and misses; this one he missed.
Matchup of the Millenium (2000)
Much Enjoyed
Very clever way using the technology of the time. Someone definitely has video editing skills. It seemed very real. The producers and NFL films got together and excavated hours of footage from games which focused on the 4 titled very best of their decade. Then they detailed games and edited them for the games actually played against each other. And then, they had to research all the players to ensure they got the right names for when they used them in the hypothetical game. Then at the end, when they generalized how the games would result, put the together the top 2 in order to create a Superbowl like experience.
Dope (2017)
Stats are appropriate
Have to disagree knowing facts. But what may have been better understood is defining the subjective term "poverty." Because according to the legal definition, the show was correct. And in Detroit it is well over half.
I think it is harsh downgrading the show to a 2 just for that but it's your opinion so I will respect it. Having some knowledge both hearing it on blast now is not only well documented but also depressive.
I take away the true over all picture that the war on drugs is not a war, it is a political platform to award an agenda. If the United States had the power or backing like the Philippines, then you could call it a war and that this country is doing something about it.
This show is spot on showing drugs in people's lives in the United States. How other countries demonstrate the US as the best customer and why. Drugs rules many countries, fund many countries and facilitate disguised happiness; in the US, they just do it better. Once you cross that line no matter what the involvement is, it is tough if not impossible to cross back.
Enough of the psychology...series is well done, well edited and very complete with information on both sides.
Star Trek (2009)
Energized for a new future!
Wow! JJ Abrams picked a magnificent team to lead him in directing one of the best Star Trek films ever. These comments do not include any of what the story is but being a loyal "trekor" I am quite pleased with how the story was put together. The casting was also done with forethought and originality.
I support whole heartedly the track of the story and see many more movies in the future. As long as the directors producers and crew of the Enterprise stay committed to the characters they resurrected, they will have both the new audience and the fans that kept Star Trek alive all these years.
To the loyal fans: If there is any hints of disappointment, take time to watch the film again. JJ Abrams created a story and ending that suggests forward thinking. If you take time to "step out of the box" you will understand the 'whys' and reasons of this marvelous, action-packed, superb special effects and creative writing, you will more than pleased and feel a sense of pride.
Star Trek lives! Thank you JJ Abrams and all were involved; well worth the wait.
Star Wars: Revelations (2005)
Star Wars: Revalations
Impressive!! With you budget, you definitely have the talent...It looked like you spent hundreds of thousands. I really hope G. Lucas recognizes your talents and recruits you all for more Star Wars installments; such as the upcoming TV series. I think there is a lot of story and fun out there between the 3 and 4 movies. For you all that watch "fan films" this one is perfect! Not even comparable to about 10 I have looked-not saying they are awful (ok some were), but yours looks like a true feature-in studio-experienced film. Please do another!!! I would have paid full price for this movie. I did share this with a buddy who is a Star Wars fanatic; even though he said it was unusual to have 2 evil figures looking for the emperor's favor; I thought it was well done-and not unthinkable. Now, I need to figure out how to put it on DVD... Thanks a million, Loyal fans of San Diego. LAJB
