The Fall: The Perilous Edge of Battle (2014)
Season 2, Episode 5

Chapter lacking all logic
2 March 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Great show, until this chapter. Cops spot the murderer and don't arrest him for no good reason, give him endless time and just watch him.

Let him run away and say they don't have an arrest strategy?!?

Who wrote this silliness?

All logic thrown into the trash. This means you could commit crime in Belfast and get away with it as long as the police don't have a "arrest strategy".... Really threw off the whole realism of the show.

Besides this, the show had been solid with decent acting, but the writers just made a mockery of the story and the police.

Try and suspend your belief on this one and the show gets better, but wow...

A soap opera filled with drama
17 January 2024
I went into this expecting epic battles and an ending full of fighting. Instead it was mostly sentimental talk. There is some gory fighting, but it's not what one would expect. Pretty anticlimactic ending. Mostly the show consists of trauma suffered by the main characters and unintelligent decisions made by them putting a lot at risk on themselves for no good reason. If you like stuff like that, where the main character is an emotional dummy, then this is right up your alley.

To me, this was way too soft and the ending was not very exciting at all. Again, there are some cool characters and some nice fight sequences, but it's more about taking pain and looking for peace.

That aside the animation is nice enough and the story is not all bad.

OK
29 December 2023
This show starts off great, the cinematography is amazing throughout.

Solid acting from everyone.

Only thing is the main character makes some weird decisions and they keep coming to the point where one starts identifying less and less with him.

The main bad guy is great and there are parallels to the main character that make you ponder. How much bad is in the good guy, how similar are they really.

The main guy bullies his sidekick for no good reason and yet the kid saved him and feels like the real protagonist at times.

Then there is the main characters' family storyline, which is very weak and can be skipped all together for a better outcome. All around not bad, but it could have been great with some minor adjustments.

Fun and classic movie magic
9 October 2022
What a fun and well made movie, lots of classic elements, not really scary, but fun and a rewarding time with a great ending.

For Marvel this is a much needed win after bad storylines like that of She-Hulk.

Great cast and acting, Laura Donnelly and Gael García Bernal are perfect for their roles, music underscored everything perfectly and the fact that it was in black and white didn't take away from it, but rather added to the charm.

The storyline was great and creative, something that I find is missing a lot lately in newer movies and TV shows.

This one is a very recommended watch, it'll leave you wishing it was a bit longer, but also refreshingly satisfied.

Not sure why they had to redo this
7 October 2022
Besides the new trend of retelling of an old franchise, but with a woman instead of a man, the absolute lack of creativity is heavy in this one. Fans of the old movies won't get anything added to the lore and will find themselves bored rather quickly. Just because you put a woman as the lead character or villain, it doesn't mean you have to skip on good old storytelling. Imagine they redid Nightrider with a female lead, but the chapters were the same story. You'd quickly be discouraged by the laziness of the TV show. Well, this is what happened here. Hollywood, please try being a bit more creative.

Pretty boring
17 August 2022
I'm a fan of Bobby Cannavale's work, but I'm not sure why he did this. Elizabeth Rodríguez acting is always flat and the same and the movie is just boring in the end. It's direction isn't bad, it's just in the end I felt like I had just wasted my time watching other people's issues that didn't matter. If you're into Lifetime movies, this is right up your alley, it just wasn't my cup of tea.

Chapters 1-5 amazing, after really corny
8 August 2022
First 5 chapters had an incredible atmosphere, great story line and awesome visual effects.

The casting of the Sandman is great.

Starting with chapter 6 the story gets really corny, childish and loses all the charm. I would honestly recommend stopping after chapter 5 and calling it a day. It'll be a wonderful experience.

Wow...
23 July 2022
If you like this show, you're in need of friends.

How is this rated so high?

Weird, dry, non funny humor.

There's nothing else like it and that's a good thing.

How they convinced hbo to give them a budget is beyond me.

Not as good as the original
23 July 2022
Not as good as the original, but I was still happy to discover new chapters. His daughter's story line isn't needed nor interesting, but it's not a deal breaker either.

Wu is for the children, so is this movie
14 March 2022
I'm in my mid 40s, so I got to see the original movies as a youngster.

Because of that I was looking forward to this movie, but the chemistry the old cast had is missing and instead is a mixture of Ghostbusters and Goonies.

If you're a parent with kids, they will enjoy it, as it's clean and the production is OK.

But if you're looking for a good movie, this one isn't it. This one is "basic".

Sweet Girl
30 August 2021
Warning: Spoilers
No, not sweet, more like horrible child. She questions him relentlessly, doesn't listen to him and gets him stabbed, she calls the fbi behind his back as they're on the run?

I was rooting for the bad guys to catch her or eliminate her. But no... It would have been a cool action movie, she just annoys you so bad, the movie becomes bad.

Starts out cool then turns into karate kid

Why couldn't we stick to the revenge plot?

Why add an annoying and nosey teenager that now learns martial arts from the main dude? Nonsense.

Started out great and went downhill fast
9 February 2021
I wanted this to be great, first chapter was super promising. It just went downhill from there. Annoying, nonsensical. Supernatural is much better than this, even though it's made for kids.
