Memory (I) (2023)

Warm and beautiful

Story of the encounter of two lonely, battered souls, searching for love, peace, acceptance and meaning in life. Told with class, cleverly avoiding cheap sentimentalism, treating viewers as intelligent breed. Scenes are woven together so that story runs smoothly, lightning is beautiful. Jessica is on top form, acting with her usual style, persuasion and expressing just what the story needs. Sarsgaard gets under your skin with ease and charm. Merrit Wever is again persuading with her detachment and minimalism, reasons revealed at the end.

Movie that touches you deep, connects and lets you leave the theatre grateful for what it gives you. Highly recommended.

Me too, seriously?

I usually don't write reviews but this movie really made me angry.

To award such a trash movie with an oscar for screenplay, to nominate it for a movie of the year just because it fits in "Me too" movement and is politicaly correct, is utterly ridicolous and insulting.

The issue it tries to address is important and serious. But doing it on a level of cheap B movies and be rewarded for it, really stinks.

The movie characters are 1 mm deep, the story is pulled from the air and concocted just to serve the purpose fitting to the moment and ride the wave of "Me too" and hopefully benefiting from it, even directing and camera are on a seriously low level. The final story "twist" is laughable and full of plot holes like the rest of the tale.

Anything worthy? Can't find.

Ad Astra (2019)

Oh my god

This is an insult to humanity with a story, dialogs, "science". And metacritic 80?! If we make movies like this we deserve to be alone in space.
