A Little Dizzy
22 June 2022
I think there were lots of little movies burried in there that left me wondering about the other plots when the story moved on. It's a great story and the actors are impeccable!

It's just one of those movies with a mood prereq.

More Please
19 June 2022
Probably the best LGBTQ movie I've seen! The music captures your attention, it perfectly depicts the maddening love life of an artist, and the story is about a question that unites us all. Love. More Please! : )

To be fair...
11 February 2022
Watching this movie is like drinking from a metaphorical firehose. For a man it's difficult to watch because there's a lot of feminism (and then some), extremely pessimistic, and unrepresentative of all males. It's more an amalgamation of everything they dislike, which is more commonly found in an older generation of men today. To be fair, it does point out their own flaws, although it's hard to hear over all the yelling and complaining. In the end, I believe it does soften it's attack and the character finds her feet again.

It's Time!
3 February 2022
At the beginning, I was a little worried at it's independent film qualities, but quickly realized it had quality actors, writer's, and directors. I'm sure it was way before it's time back in 2009, but it's time has definitely come!

Good vs Evil
31 January 2021
The battle of good vs evil takes a long time to tell. Thankfully, these characters have been around to see it all for themselves, and they have something to say. This movie symbolizes all of those who put their lives on the line for what they thought was good, the mistakes that were made, and a few jokes too.

Trans Siberian Nightmare
15 January 2021
It's a reflection on an old mans life, somewhere between and apology and a warning about the pitfalls that can trap us. There's a loving sentiment that ties up a darker Night Before Christmas feel, with a Trans Siberian musical. If you like things with a bit of the macabre, you should like this too.

Beautifully Unique

There is a very 'authentic' trait to this young man's investigation that's as therapeutic for the character as for the intrepid male viewer. Push on. Come what may, you only get better.

A Cautionary Romance
15 August 2020
Talk about shooting yourself in the foot, over and over... A cautionary tail at best, it's almost like watching a horror movie. You keep saying to the tv "No, that's a horrible idea. Don't! Stop!" Lol. Otherwise Great film!

Second Act Takes It
20 July 2020
The first half set the scene for a better second half. The second half was 8+ stars, no doubt. They could have been released separately, but it was a bold choice to show it like this. The quick pace definitely took a toll on the story but it's still a good one. Looking forward to seeing where this goes.

Don't Forget To Breath
22 April 2020
Another good "meditative" movie. It's very thought provoking if you give it the time and consideration it needs to be unravelled. On the surface it's about a search for something, but he doesn't know exactly what yet. Below that, it's about as deep as you can go.

Definitely Sexist
14 April 2020
As well intentioned as it may have been, this is insulting to males. But, I'll leave it up to the millennials to debate.

Good Movie, Bad Adults.
5 January 2020
So many flaults exposed and intertwined I wouldn't know where to begin. It's a worst case gone bad. The one good takeaway I suppose, and that makes it worth not turning off when they fail epicly, is that it could have ended worse. That's life I guess, but let's shoot higher, hu?

Every Generation Has Issues With The Next
24 September 2019
Country life. It's pretty slow most of the time. What I found noteworthy was how a very Christian culture, played by the older brother, tends to react when the previous 'nonreligious' caretakers decide to shake things up and reconcile their history with this piece of land.

A Shot Of Paranoia and a Beer For My Horse
23 September 2019
I don't know if this captures what being a loner is, rather than the way others see our daily lives, but it does draw a clear line for both sides to consider. Ultimately, the strongest truth it sheds light on is paranoia. The struggle is real folks!

Young vs Old
16 September 2019
This movie challenges what religion is. Faith vs Religion. Faith is what this young girl is exploring right from the start of her spiritual journey. Not the norm. Religion is the three headed monster she's up against. Although it has a good coming of age plot, I feel the greater good is found in what the parent character learns. True, religious practice provides a consistent element to life, you can't expect someone new to this world to grasp the holiness or wisdom of conformity.

A Deep Message In A Shallow Movie
3 September 2019
A fair look at the good and bad of living for the moment. Below all the frivolous and dangerous surface level fun, it illuminates a deeper message with neon lights. You have to check in with yourself occasionally and see how you're doing in there. However you do that is your call in life, but to steal a phrase, "get wisdom, and in all your getting, get understanding". Pro 4:7. Keep it real, and keep first thing first. Peace!

Life's Mostly a Jumbled Mess
31 July 2019
Ultimately it was an exploration of faith, and the feelings behind having it, or not. Life is like a quilt some say. The back-side we see is mostly a jumbled mess that makes no sense. This movie takes a solid swing at showing us there's also a front to the quilt, as disconnected as it may seem. Just keep the faith my friends! It will all come together eventually I promise you.

A Love Story Of Many Tales
25 June 2019
Most movies stick to one story, but there are many all wrapped up inside this film about the lives of two artists. A classic tale about the artistic muse adapted for the modern age.

A Good Story... Eventually!
23 June 2019
The climax this story is driving towards makes for a great ending! The beginning doesn't quite pull the story together well enough to really hold my attention, and the emotional depth is beyond what the young lead actor can accurately portray, but there's some really talented actors in here too. Although it's made more for a teenager, the sentiment of this movie is ageless and still worth a watch 20 years later by grown-ups.

It Makes A Full Recovery
15 June 2019
After an awkward opening this film takes a funny turn, plot and dialogue. There's some really good laughs and poignant moments that make it worth a watch. Just be patient, and it will work itself out.

War Is Messy Business
27 May 2019
Hopefully our better angel will prevail, but occasionally it's the one sitting on our other shoulder that balances everything out. This movie paid homage to the heros that built our country, and suprisingly brings to light a nice mix of issues that come up along the way. Good work men!

Life Is Full Of Questions
19 May 2019
Life is full of deep questions. This movie asks the deepest to these young-adults who are barely equipped to answer any of them, and a few adults who want to know the answers just as badly. This movie askes, What if we can't find an answer? And answers it with a beautiful song. I hope it's good enough!

A Beautiful Mess
9 May 2019
It took the first half of this movie to find it's voice, but the second half speaks with perfect clarity and truth. This movie sheds a softer light on mental illness than I've seen befor. It gives those on the inside looking out a sympathetic pat on the back while saying "Yeah, I know..." , and for the rest, a peek inside the closet we hide everything in. The thing I loved most is that it lays out beautifully just how much those people who we can open up to mean to us.

An Exercise In Patience
8 May 2019
The ending is worth the wait. But, you must endure a bleak depiction of the 21st century dating scene, and a story line that questions the motives of those who have kids for the wrong reasons. A good question, just a little awkwardly put forth. While the movie is a 7, the ending is a 9.

An industry of Ego
2 May 2019
People think the movie industry is all glitz and glamor. Running it is about Ego. Sacrificing yours to build up another.
