Summer of 8 (2016)
2/10
The script is too trashy, weak and obscene.
31 October 2016
"Eight close friends soak up their last day of summer together on the beach before parting ways for college."

This must be the longest day of the year because it seems like it will never end. Summer 8 it is like a porn movie without the action part. It's a long day at the beach that moves too slow. The sun is still high in the sky and you can't see the moment for it to end.

The script is too trashy, weak and obscene.

Nonetheless, i have to congratulate the cinematographer work making not only beautiful images but more important than that is appropriate images.

I Am Wrath (2016)

I am wrath is an action / crime movie with all the clichés of its kind. there is not anything here that we haven't already seen before.

I am wrath is an action / crime movie with all the clichés of its kind. there is not anything here that we haven't already seen before.

"Unemployed engineer Stanley Hill (John Travolta) witnesses the brutal murder of his wife Vivian (Rebecca De Mornay) who was attacked by thugs in a parking garage. When Detective Gibson (Sam Trammell) and other corrupt police officers are unable and unwilling to bring the killers to justice, Stanley turns to his old friend Dennis (Christopher Meloni) and decides to take matters into his own hands. It is only then that Stanley and Dennis are found to have a mysterious past that, until now, they kept very well hidden."

Still, "I am Wrath" shows to be good enough to provide entertainment as we stand still watching two great actors, John Travolta and Christopher Meloni, working together to achieve vengeance.

The inherent humor in Jackie Chan's action scenes mixed with the persona that is Johnny Knoxville proved to be very entertaining and joyful

SKIPTRACE is a well-animated adventure. The inherent humor in Jackie Chan's action scenes mixed with the persona that is Johnny Knoxville proved to be very entertaining and joyful. But, it's not all a bed of roses. Through out all movie length we are cursed by an annoying and inadequate soundtrack. The comic parts could be very amusing if the music had helped. The scenes are very funny as when Jackie Chan in Bennie Chan's character goes to Russia get Johnny Knoxville (Connor Watts) we receive a nice and very funny scene of action but the music takes away all this fantastic setting, making it dull and exasperating.

There were good and funny moments but you can not enjoy due to "background noise".

Open Windows (2014)

Once all the action inside the hotel come to an end, the rest seems to go out wildly.
3 February 2015
The title is very attractive, but in my opinion the end product is just a mix of concepts that don't complement each other. "Open Windows" is easy to visualize because it involves suspense and plays with technology such as our everyday devices. The problem is that it doesn't go further into the themes it presents.

Once all the action inside the hotel come to an end, the rest seems to go out wildly. Nacho Vigalondo imposes a breakneck pace ... the problem is that history doesn't keep up. At one point, I had to go back a few minutes to see if there was a logical thread connecting everything. I don't consider that the problem is on the technical side but in the text. The concepts are good, but the rest ...

It is unfortunate that "Open Windows" waste the potential that its beginning promised.

Both the heroes and villains alike have their own problems and daydreams: "I was raised to be charming, not sincere."
3 February 2015
"Into the Woods" is a very funny movie but a not so funny adaptation.

The entire action revolves around the witch who's well characterized and interpreted by Meryl Streep. Sometimes she's nice, comic and even vulnerable and in other moments philosophical and terrible. This mark that both the heroes and villains alike have their own problems and daydreams highlights the universality inherent in this work and therefore makes it special. "I was raised to be charming, not sincere." said by the prince is the best note.

Despite being only 5min Johnny Depp doesn't cease to deserve our congrats on his wolf role. As for the soundtrack, I think "Agony" is the most excels. A good duet and a waterfall in the background. However, the last part is a disappointment. The dark present throughout the work simply disappears. One feels that something is missing, that is incomplete, lost.

In this world, where a happy ending is a utopia, I think "Into the Woods" is a pleasant sight.

"Alexander" achieves a certain integrity addressing family solidarity and portrays a "Terrible, horrible, Nothing Good, poorly Day" which sometimes families have to face.
31 January 2015
For me, "Alexander" is a good family comedy. An old fashioned movie similar to some of the classics of my childhood. The lightness of this film it's crossed in the path to better reviews. However, if the general public is open to the silliness and just enjoy, it is still a funny comedy. In fact, the comic nature emanating from Steve Carell and Jennifer Garner are sufficient to support the lightness of the film that would alienate the older audience and the fast pace of the film is enough to keep the little ones away from boredom and indifference.

However, the end it's just a complete disappointment. I think the correct word is corny.

In any case, "Alexander" achieves a certain integrity addressing family solidarity and portrays a "Terrible, horrible, Nothing Good, poorly Day" which sometimes families have to face. However, no matter how the day can get worse, there is always tomorrow, the next day, the next journey. And so, there is hope that the day can get better. The way this message is passed by Miguel Arteta is part of the reason I enjoyed this Disney work.

European cinema when it is good worth every minute. The film excites from beginning to end.

A masterpiece!

European cinema when it is good worth every minute. The film excites from beginning to end. In addition to the intelligent operation and behavioral history, there is no dead time in the film, everything has a meaning, a bond and a good pace. It's very interesting the way this movie talks about the respect or not of a person's privacy and the confrontation between dictatorship and freedom of expression ...

I have to take off my hat to Florian Henckel von Donnersmarck. He has done an excellent job. Yes, we all ought to take off our hats. He is an amazing director and writer.

It's a film that addresses the old issue between what should remain in private matter and what should be made public.
28 December 2014
Good movie..more than ever

It's a film that addresses the old issue between what should remain in private matter and what should be made public. As such, this work reflects on one of the basic rights of human beings: the Privacy ... not in a simplistic way but applying that right with others as the Freedom and Security.

It's a movie that could be of this year (2014) or any coming year ... the wikileaks cases of Julian Assange and Edward Snowden prove the timelessness of this work masterfully directed by Francis Ford Coppola ... without any doubt it's his most kafkian film, immersed in anguish where the citizen becomes a pawn piece on the board controlled by the state. The interpretation of Gene Hackman is masterful (his best?).

The end of the film (no happy end) seems to demonstrate that the more we have computer means to ensure our safety ... more defenseless we become. It's the price to pay for such technological advancement. What I like most about the film is the feeling of Solitude that runs throughout the film and its main character ...

A 'bitter' irony: bigger and better means of information and communication ... greater solitude.

It has a funny start i give him that but it's just that.
26 December 2014
I didn't like the movie.

It has a funny start i give him that but it's just that. I mean, Kate Upton appears to be lost in her character...

Nicki Minaj has a small and irrelevant role to the story...

And all those ordinary revenge scenes between laxatives and estrogen...

In short, for me, Nick Cassavetes completely failed in its meaning and comic assertiveness. I prefer his father's movie - "Big Trouble" - which despite being funnier isn't very good. Anyway, If you want to see a film very similar to this one, but a little better take a look at "First Wives Club".

Inland Empire (2006)
A solipsism that only the most pseudo intellectual fans can truly love.
16 December 2014
Not recommended. David Lynch was caught in its web. In other words, Lynch making ... Lynch. A solipsism that only the most pseudo intellectual fans can truly love. Other self-plagiarism: Tarantino doing Tarantino in his "Death Proof" or Scorsese making Scorsese in his "Wolf of wall street". The greatest Lynch's films feature a curse that resembles much what the illustrious music critic Ricardo Salo once said about the first two discs of PERE UBU: "unrepeatable music, beauty in the chaos that its authors will never approach but only imitate a very pale form" I hope I'm wrong, I hope that Lynch is capable of reinventing himself...we'll see.

Pay attention to all different genres of cinema and cinematic styles that Lynch has ever experienced. Amazing!

But ... truth be told, this "inland empire" and "death proof" films are "dead end" (both formal and in terms of history) ... they bring nothing new and the old is spent itself ...

If you want to see David Lynch in his best i advise "Eraserhead", "Blue Velve" or "Wild at Hear"

It's one of those movies that should only be watched with popcorn
15 December 2014
A good movie! It is undoubtedly similar to Indiana Jones atmosphere and therefore has a funny script with lots of action which captivated me.

Kathleen Turner shows once again her talent for comedy and drama. But I still prefer her performance in "Body Heat". However, i didn't really enjoy the "chemistry" and dynamics created between Joan Wilder and Jack Colton. For this reason, I find important to refer the movie "It Happened One Night," which holds one of my favorite pairs :)

Danny De Vito embodies the thousandth time the figure of the street-smart.

"Romancing the Stone" is a hymn to adventure and is full of twists, etc .... It isn't original you say. So what? Continues to be entertainment at its best.

It's one of those movies that should only be watched with popcorn :)

It is a film that shows the importance of teachers and teaching.
10 December 2014
A good movie! In my opinion, very undervalued. I really liked the character that Michelle Pfeiffer created.

It is a film that shows the importance of teachers and teaching. The impact that a good teacher can create in their students and the alert to the need for more talented teachers and committed to building citizens and righteous humans. The school principal and Carla are probably allegorical characters of narcissistic society we live in. That is, they tolerate the others but they don't live with them.

Sometimes, there are families who don't support their children and teachers often become the ones who can make a difference. The ones who can recognize their existence, be light, be the "Mr. Tambourine Man". Regardless of the intervention of teachers / family, the kids will find a way, a path ... whether it thriving or declining. So ultimately, it is up to the teachers to help them make the choice of going on that bus instead of staying on the outside.

As for Coolio song "gangsta's paradise" I must say that, for me, music is just music, we can fit it in different genres, accompanied by several lyrics. I don'r really appreciate the original Stevie Wonder but I like Coolio's version. It's just a matter of taste :)

The good performance of some actors, special effects and the mystery of the environment in which they found themselves is enough to keep the audience interested.
10 December 2014
Not bad!

The good performance of some actors, special effects and the mystery of the environment in which they found themselves is enough to keep the audience interested. It also has a good direction that didn't put the typical teenage romance, that can be so tiring.

However, in my opinion, "The Maze Runner" is unable to get it to be thrilling. The film comes to an end without knowing the answer to several questions in order to make room for the second film.

So I will be waiting for a new episode and news surprises from Wes Ball and T.S. Nowlin in "Scorch Trials" :)
