Anwar (2010)
Honest Anwar (2010) Review...
The story is very engaging and they play it very serious and realistic. Prithviraj gives a great performance as Anwar and never for a moment did I feel that he was miscast for the role. He does justice to his role and really immerses you into his world. Mamta Mohandas does do a great performance considering how little screen time she got. Her role is short but she does give her best and most of the time pays off. She was ultimately an obstacle or better put, a damsel, that the hero had to save in his otherwise lonely lifestyle. In most movies, either the male protagonist or the story will be the highlight of the movie. In this case, Lal as Babu Sait is by far the highlight of the movie. He had this intimidating presence, his dialogue delivery was exceptional, was believable as a leader.
As with any movie I have to talk about the negatives as well. So, here they are. There are way too few moments showcasing his relationship with Anwar and his parents. It felt too short and most of it was given way for 2 of the best songs in the movie. The flashback happened way too late in the film and the time devoted to Anwar and his relationship with his parents and Ayesha felt underdeveloped. They talked about Anwar's sister, Asna, played by Nithya Menen, goals after her marriage but it's never explained what they are and/or how she wanted to achieve said goals.
Another huge negative I had was the execution of the action scenes. Every single stunt was done in slow motion and I hate it when movies do that. Slow motion should be used to make a scene more dramatic. Using it on stunts just breaks my immersion and I immediately realise that it's a movie. This is the main reason why I hated the movie "300". They even use slow motion for Anwar adding shells to his shotgun and I'm left thinking "Why?".
My third negative is of how they wasted Prakash Raj as Stalin Manimaran. He is barely in the movie and the scenes he is there, he only provides motivation to Anwar for the operation and to open a flashback which showcase the said scene. He is one of the best charismatic actors in Indian cinema and he was wasted in this movie. The scenes he is in; he gives his all but I can't believe how he was wasted in this movie.
Another wasted character in this movie was Sampath Raj as Basheer Bhai. He has only 2 scenes and one of the scenes is him getting shot by Anwar at the end. This character was absolute trash. He is apparently the main guy who supplied the team of terrorists responsible for the Coimbatore bomb blast. What an utter waste of a good cameo.
It is a watchable movie. The story alone is inviting. The action was good even thought I hated that they used slow motion on it. The dialogues have a good flow. Mamta Mohandas giving a good performance despite having less screentime. Great songs with good transitions. All of this makes this a good enjoyable movie.
Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018)
Honest Parmanu: The Story of Pokhran (2018) Review...
This movie shows a lot of promise. The performances of John Abraham is excellent and Diana Penty did a fantastic job as Capt. Ambalika Bandopadhyay. There is a lot of tension in this movie and I'm still under shock that one man with a 5 member team changed the course of India. This film manages to execute the scenes nicely.
This movie also made me realise that this is what John Abraham does at his best. He has a talent for portraying serious and intense roles with much more ease than his comic roles which needs a lot of improvement.
The movie doesn't put much work to the songs. The songs are good to listen to but I felt that the songs were unnecessary to the movie. I felt that the scene alone had good enough depth and the songs didn't do much to elevate the scenes.
The first few minutes of the first half was a bit "shaky" for me. It made me get the impression that the crew wasn't ready with the movie but as the movie progresses, it gets better.
That was all I could say about the movie. It has its flaws but it only hindered my experience only a little bit. I recommend this movie for every movie lover. It's very entertaining and patriotic and it doesn't shove it in your face. It offers a lot and it deserves to be seen. So, check it out and enjoy yourself!
Hate Story IV (2018)
Honest Hate Story 4 Review...
The lyrics of song remake "Aashiq Banaya Aapne" was good. The performance of Gulshan Grover was fine but could have been much better.
I'm going to present the negatives in a bullet format because unlike the movie I don't plan on wasting your valuable time. Let's begin!
Negative #1: The performance of Urvashi Rautela is mediocre. I haven't watched any other movies of her except "Mr. Airavata" but I think we can all agree that this is her worst performance yet. Her dialogue delivery is awful. She is expressionless throughout the movie.
Negative #2: The story is very predictable and has been executed multiple times before. The story fails to show any variation in its execution. We were feeling bored just watching the movie and I had to sit through this for a second time because my friend wanted to watch this with me. He adds that this installment is the worst in the franchise. I'm not aware of the other 3 installments but I can definitely say that this movie gave me one of the worst experiences in a while.
Negative #3: For a movie in the erotic genre, there was hardly anything erotic in the movie. Comment below if you found any scene in the movie that you found erotic because we found none. It felt like whatever erotic scenes were shown in the trailer was the only ones in the movie. Nothing more, Something less.
Negative #4: There was hardly any thrill in this thriller movie. As I mentioned before, we were bored throughout the movie. We just wanted this movie to end as fast as possible.
Negative #5: The 2 songs that was remade to this movie was good to listen to, not to experience, but the rest of the songs fall flat.
Negative #6: I have no idea why this movie is called a Hate Story. I have not watched the other 3 Hate Stories, but from what I watched in this movie, this movie should be called "Revenge Story" as it is what it is, a revenge story.
It's on Amazon Prime Video so those who watched the first 3 and want to complete it can just watch it there. For others, just avoid it at all cost. The story is horrible, performances is below average and this movie just makes you feel bored. I will never recommend this movie even for time pass. It's that awful.
Sudigaadu (2012)
Sudigaadu (2012) Review...
This is an average movie with a lot of negatives. This film contains stories of other movies. There is no originality on this film. Jokes are somewhat good that is you get a few laughs here and there. The CGI fluctuates. Every scene is a cartoon live action. There is no concept of reality and they even break the 4th wall once or twice. Many of the comedy relies on double meaning, cartoon logic, sexual innuendos.
I don't dislike Allari Naresh as an actor but I hate the movies he stars in. He has talent but he wastes it on cartoon movies having a bullshit stupid story. He does good performance but look at his filmography. A majority of it is cartoon live action type movies. Getting back to this film, I watched this film because I heard (found it on Wikipedia) that this movie is said to be the Landmark Film of Allari Naresh. In a few countries, this is the first ever Allari Naresh film to be screened. The movie's phenomenal openings and good collections have also cemented Allari Naresh's status as a minimum guarantee star. So naturally I was intrigued to watch this. As far as performance alone goes, he does good work but it is not enough to save this movie.

Idhu Enna Maayam (2015)
Idhu Enna Maayam (2015) Review...
This movie is not a bad one. However, there are parts in the movie where things don't add up. The twist was predictable and the whole movie was a cliché. It's basically the same outdated story told in a different way, "Guy rejects a woman because of stupid reason and the same reason causes him to fall in love with main heroine but rejects her only to get together at the ending". There is nothing wrong with this concept, if you do it well then it can be very immersive and entertaining. But this story lacks substance. There is nothing to move this plot forward.
The male lead, Vikram Prabhu as Arun, was very bland. His morality is unjustified and the reason for his hatred towards his father (though his mother didn't have any problems with his father) is unexplained.

Gharshana (2004)
Gharshana (2004) Review...
This is one of the best movies I have seen of Venkatesh. I had the pleasure of watching Force a few years ago so I can't help but compare to this film considering Force is a remake of this. This movie makes Force look like a joke. There was a few minor editing errors in this film but it was hardly noticeable. This movie managed to capture the emotion, dedication, execution and determination that Force failed to accomplish. After watching this movie, Force seemed like a lost opportunity because even with the best main and supporting cast, Force managed to capture the same emotion of the Venkatesh remake (this movie). This whole movie was an emotional roller- coaster and Venkatesh was perfect casting. His performance was amazing and you could feel what he was going through throughout the movie.

M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016)
M.S. Dhoni: The Untold Story (2016) Review...
This is one of the best movies of Bollywood I've ever seen. The film was executed very well and each and every moment I was very much intrigued. It was so good to watch and I never knew what he had to go through. At first I had doubts about casting Sushant Singh Rajput as M.S. Dhoni. But after watching this movie I was very much mesmerised at his performance. I felt that M.S. Dhoni himself was going through all this again. I felt that M.S. Dhoni himself was going through all this again. His performance was so good that I never felt that he was acting as M.S. Dhoni but he was M.S. Dhoni himself.

Billy Madison (1995)
A good movie with few funny moments
This movie was not bad but not good either. There were times I got a good laugh but most of the movie appeared to be more drama than comedy that I couldn't laugh as much. The majority of the movie is Sandler acting like a retard because he skipped school since his childhood and now has to complete each grade in a span of 2 weeks else his rival gets his father's company. There were some good moments in the film and Sandler interacting with little kids forming a good friendship with them was fun to watch.

Needhi Singh (2016)
A very good movie that needs a lot of improvement...
The story was disappointing at first half of movie. This movie was my first exposure to Punjabi movies and unfortunately for me, this movie didn't come with subtitles. I therefore had to watch this movie depending only on their actions and visuals. I could only understand about 10% of the dialogues due to my limited knowledge of Hindi.
The acting of that corrupted police officer was terrible. He was acting like a 2-year-old the entire movie. The only person that gave a good performance was the main heroine.
None of the scenes in the movie felt like it was a true story. If you watched true stories like Rustom, Bhaag Milkha Bhaag, Special 26 etc. then you know what I'm talking about. The movie felt like an action masala and there was so many noticeable holes that made the movie feel nude for a while.
However, the story was very meaningful in nature. Everything that happened from the interval scene onwards was very thrilling and interesting to watch. There were a lot of cool scenes even though you question how certain scenes happen in real life and the plot-holes this film has.
This is a very good movie. I hope to watch it again if any subtitled one comes out. It feels good to watch it at least once. This is one movie that makes you want to watch it again (after a few months). I highly recommend this movie to anyone who wants to jump in to Punjabi movies.
Guntur Talkies (2016)
Guntur Talkies Review...
Concept...
Two guys experience unpredictable incidents.
Positives...
1) One of the best *modern* comedy I have seen. 2) Rashmi Gautham's sexiness 3) Cinematography by Ram Reddy is neat. The execution was done very well. 4) A very unpredictable story if you are watching for the first time.
Negatives...
1) Shradda Das has failed to make any impact. She basically plays a gangster prostitute who only rapes the main protagonist constantly because he winked at her one time. (WTF ??) She had no character development other than a gangster prostitute. 2) Constant use of the word *ass* (in Telugu). Gets annoying after a while. 3) Excessive and unnecessary use of expletives. 4) Till interval scenes like these and some petty crime act run on. Post interval there is some story but again it runs on double meaning dialogues. 5) Comedy sometimes gets repetitive.
Rating...
6.0/10
Conclusion...
"Guntur Talkies" is low-standard comedy that can be enjoyed by a section of audience for its sexual tease. I did some scenes very well so it doesn't make it a bad movie. However watching it a second time won't have the same effect as when you are watching it the first time. The story's unpredictability keeps you in your seat but would have been better if the main act was unpredictable as well. In short, it's a one time watch but the thing is "once you start watching then you should watch till the end in one swoop else the effect will be lost" and you'll have a great time with this.
Guppedantha Prema (2016)
Review : Guppedantha Prema – Unpleasant love story
Plus Points: Even though most love stories have almost the same premise, the beautiful and touching emotions in love are still inspiring filmmakers to come up with different love stories. Guppedantha Prema too has its moments of an intense love feeling in the first 30 minutes of the second half. With Swara's entry, the second half flows smoothly without any boredom, thanks to the comedy factor. Coming to the actors, Sai Ronak did a fine job by ably portraying his role throughout the film. Aditi Singh has good screen presence and her performance in most scenes is commendable. Aishwarya impresses with her lively act.
Minus Points: The major minus point of Guppedantha Prema is the lack luster love story in the first half. Lack of innocence makes the first half only a beautifully shot montage. The Yuvan-Sandy love track lacks the required emotional depth in the second half. A song comes out of nowhere in the second half and affects the film's narrative. Even the scenes between Sandy and Swara lack the fizz. Even though the dialogues are impressive, they appear to be a mismatch with the characterizations of the lead cast. Climax is pale and the audience will come out disappointed. The film's story has several loopholes and logic goes for a complete toss in several scenes.
Technical Aspects: Sanjay Loknath's impressive cinematography stands out from the rest of the technical departments. Music director Navneeth Sundar gave a couple of decent songs. Editing is okay and visual effects are pretty ordinary. Writer-director Vinod Lingala tries to weave an emotional love story in his debut but falters at times. He shows his command in writing only after the first 20 minutes post the interval.
Verdict: Every Friday, filmmakers come up with different love stories hoping that they'll manage to impress the audience. Released with a promise to showcase the innocence and beautiful emotions of first love, Guppedantha Prema, even though had a decent premise falters due to its uneven execution. Despite an interesting first 20 minutes in the second half, the film lacks an emotionally engaging narrative and makes the audiences crave for more.
Ko Ko (2012)
Ko Ko...Koli Kothi Review
Story ====== Let me come straight to the matter. The story is average. The story has some good scenes mixed with some bad scenes. So even you'll have mixed feelings. It's a very predictable story as you can pretty much guess what the next scene will be and you'll be right most of the time.
Comedy ====== The comedy is very bad. The comedy is so dry and bland that you never laugh at this. Most of it was kind of forced (according to me). I don't know about you but this film's comedy didn't make me laugh one bit.
Romance + Dialogues ==================== There was hardly any romance in this film. Most of the film's run- time is dedicated to hero and heroine bickering over trivial stuff like 10 year old's. Most of time the dialogues were written good but even that is on & off.
Performance ============= The performance of all the cast was very good. I disliked the hero's acting because most of the time he acts like an idiot that saw something sparkle for the first time. I couldn't bold well with the hero but the main highlight of the film was Sri Hari. Sri Hari's acting was so intimidating and the way he gave the twist was good to see. Great Job to all the actors/actresses.
Conclusion ============= The film is very average with a predictable story line. However it's a film worth watching once. It's predictable but also enjoyable. I recommend it for a one time watch and/or for those who want to kill 2 hr 27 min.
Master Piece (2015)
Masterpiece Review...
This film is a disappointment if you go with the expectations created by Yash's most recent films.
The pre-interval part of the film is a comical feast. Yash's character Yuva wants to be a real-life villain and the incidents woven into the story does the job well. The college elections and MLA election sequences are good. Chikkanna is the toast and emerges as the major contributor to the entertainment. Films cannot do without a 'heroine' and the romantic angle between Yash and Shanvi Srivastava too has some fresh scenes. In between, there are some good dancing songs and bone-crushing stunts.
And, yes, all this is a flashback that Yash's mother (Suhasini) is narrating. She wanted him to be like Bhagat Singh, Veer Savarkar and Chandrashekar Azad but he has turned into a rowdy.
The film could have continued as a rom-com but Ravishankar awakes on a hospital bed at interval and you know there are more fights to follow. The rest of the film is about how Yuva becomes a moder-day Bhagat Singh. The post-interval film comes a cropper as it drags on a predictable path. The climax does a little bit to salvage the numbness created by the blaring horns of the background score and meandering plot.
Conclusion: Achyuth Kumar makes a good impression with his Muslim-Kannada diction and Dattatreya is natural in just the one scene he appears. The rest of the actors could exist only on screen. Even if you expected only entertainment, the fantasy works in parts. There are the good songs, eye-candy locales and the chest-thumping dialogues. All this works with those enamoured by Yash, the rest can chill somewhere else.
Laddu Babu (2014)
'Laddu Babu' Review
Now, whenever there is a film on 'fat' people, usually all jokes are centered around that character. While it does work well for a while, this tried and tested formula tends to get tedious after a point.
Unfortunately, not only do they crack jokes on 'fat' people, but they also make fun of people with various disabilities which is in bad taste. They also try to make fun of inseparable twins which is quite gross.
And even if one were to set apart the above-mentioned scenes, the rest of the film has nothing much to hold the attention of the audience.
For most part, the film shows how Laddu Babu is rejected by people. And once the main story begins, the audiences are already aware of what is to come. So, there is no curiosity element to hold their attention.
One cannot help but notice Ravi Babu's lack of seriousness from the way he shows Laddu Babu losing oodles of fat and putting it on almost immediately. With one surgery Laddu Babu loses all his fat and immediately afterwards, he drinks a bottle of ghee and he gets back to his old, 'fat' self.
Interestingly, in the entire film, the only interesting scene is labeled 'deleted' and shown along with the credits. Actually, the director who is known to experiment with his films should have tried it the other way round. He should have retained that one interesting scene, and labeled the rest of the film as 'deleted' and run it along with rolling titles.
Well, the film tries to drive home the message that when hit by bad times, one must remember all the good times that life had offered. So, one tip for all those planning to watch Laddu Babu is – Go into the theater, close your eyes and remember any comic film of Naresh and come out. And those wanting to give it a miss in theaters, then wait for it to be telecast on the small screen. You have nothing to miss!
Bottomline: Really Boring Babu! Watch it only for time-pass or if you want to kill 137 minutes.
Chakravyuha (2016)
Movie Review: Chakravyuha
Puneeth Rajkumar was done his role very intelligently. He plays a protagonist that plans his every move before executing them. A brilliant job in every scene and the impact he bestows will be there till the end of the movie. Rachita Ram had nothing special going on for her. She plays the bubbly idiotic heroine that should have been overused in Kannada films by now. A majority of the first half focused on her trying to win Puneeth Rajkumar whereas you can sum it all in 2 – 3 scenes. Arun Vijay is making his Kannada debut as the main antagonist. He was completely under-used in this movie which I'll go into detail in the "Story" section. He was the perfect villain I was waiting for so many years. He was the perfect villain for Puneeth Rajkumar as both had similar traits. He is a very intelligent villain who uses his intelligence to take his revenge on Puneeth Rajkumar. A villain with so much potential that was untapped.

Fan (2016)
FAN Honest Review
Firstly I would like to say, don't believe in negativity of this film. Whether u r SRK fan, Salman Fan, Akshay Fan or Aamir fan or any other Star's fan, this film is for FANS. U don't need to be SRK fan to love this movie, watch this film like a fan not as any other star's hater. Each and every scene is awesomely directed. In 1st half u will see srk as a Gaurav Chandna as a romantic fan who can do anything to satisfy his Star's needs. In 2nd half SRK as a Gaurav Chandna as a Phsycho Butthurt Fan who can do anything to get a SORRY word frm his own Idol. In 2nd half u will see SRK ka Darr wali acting! #Nostalgic u know! Relief that there was not a single song. You will not get bore. You will not feel that somewhere movie is trying to extend the story. SRK's acting is always remarkable. By doing FAN, he added another performance in "FANS" memories. For normal fans, this movie is one time watchable. For Jabra fans, u can watch it anytime, anywhere. For haters, stop being any particular star's hater and appreciate them when they do good.
SRK's acting rating: 5/5 Movie's rating: 4/5
Moral of the movie: BE A FAN NOT A BUTTHURT FAN Best dialogue of movie: Pehle Fan Star Ke Peeche Bhaagta Tha ... Ab Star Fan Ke Peeche Bhaagega
Rakhi (2006)
A good film with sister sentiment
It is a different film from Krishnavamsi's school. Though it is said that the basic theme is based on the sister sentiment, the hero of this film did not do much for his sister. However, he strives for the society and sees that no other girl would face the bad situation like his sister.
NTR gave a tremendous performance both in sentiment as well as action scenes. Especially NTR's expressions before the interval bang i.e., at the burial ground are quite superb.
Ileana and Charmme played glam dolls in the film and did justice to their respective roles. Charmme is cute in village belle attire and her performance as an innocent girl is good. She, however, had got a very little chance to expose her beauty, except in a couple of songs.
Music is quite good to listen. DSP gave melodious tunes and the re- recording is also okay. Dialogues before the climax would definitely make the audiences to rethink about the present system and the society.
Masterpiece (2015)
Masterpiece Review... Read this before watching movie
I like the appeal of Yash and I love commercial films. Masterpiece is a one-man film. Critics may say it's one-sided, but we love commercial films for that very reason. The first half had plenty of humour, I didn't particularly like the second half much. It's for Yash that people like me watch the film.
The film is said to be a decent entertainer if not compared with his several previous hit films including "Mr and Mrs Ramachari". The Manju Mandavya directorial film is high on commercial elements but the narration goes off track at parts, making it as an average entertainer.
As of now, the masterpiece music, trailer and the posters were released and received huge response from the fans and the audience. As per the director this movie is going to be an action thriller which will have two dimensions with a mature screen play and that will blend with the story and the characters. The main attraction of the movie would be the model Ekta Rathod. It was revealed that she is going to make a cameo appearance in this movie. There was also a special song in the movie that was filmed all across the Bangalore and it would attract the audience. As per the Yash, it was not a historical movie and is a complete business film though Yash was seen in Bhagat Singh outfits in the poster and Yash says that the movie is not based on the life history of the Bhagat Singh. The story of the movie is not yet out and it would be soon updated as the movie starts streaming in the theaters. So, audience should wait for the story and the positives and negatives of the movie.
Mr. And Mrs. Ramchari (2014)
Mr and Mrs Ramachari Review... Read this before watching movie
The film had a connect with the audience. The lead character of a failed student with a complex was realistic and easily identifiable as a person we may know. The lifestyle and the interaction between the boy and girl once again got the middle-class connect. It was an entertainer that worked for all.
With ample doses of romance, comedy and action, Mr and Mrs Ramachari is the perfect New Year gift for film-goers. Offering glimpses of Vishnuvardhan's role in the 1972 hit "Nagarahavu", director Santhosh Anandram's debut movie has all the ingredients of an entertainer. It has a neat plot, interspersed with lively sequences.
Yash is brilliant, be it his expressions, dialogue delivery or style. Radhika Pandit delivers a winsome performance. Srinath, Achyuth Kumar, Malavika and Dhyan essay their roles with ease. Ashok Sharma shows promise of a good actor. V Harikrishna's catchy tunes and S Vaidhi stellar photography make the movie-viewing watching experience more delightful.
Ranna (2015)
My Ranna Review... Read this before watching movie
There are 4 or 5 stars that I like and Sudeep is one of them. I will watch their films and like them no matter what. In Ranna, Sudeep's attitude matched the character. I had watched the Telugu original and loved Pawan Kalyan's performance too. Sudeep matched the class character; his attitude, get-up and costumes, making it worthy. I didn't like the comedy of Sadhu Kokila; the comedy in the original was better.
Nanda doesn't disappoint, for this Attarintiki Daredi remake entertains, at all levels. From lavish production values, replete with top notch locales, costumes and the works, to good music, cinematography and dialogs, this one is the perfect family entertainer for Sudeep's fans.
Dilwale (2015)
Bullsh*t movie that should be renamed as CARS
The script for this was written by a 6 year old who watched too many Hollywood. That is the only way I can interpret this movie. More that half of this movie is CARS and then some Michael Bay sh*t. The song locations or songs not make any sense.
I like SRK and Kajol as couple but I never expected that they will act in such a movie. Even half the dialogs were reference to other movies. The action scenes were too short for enjoyment. If you go too deep in movie for logic (I always do because I want good logic in a good movie) then you will bang your head against the wall.
My conclusion is that if you are looking to waste 2h 38m of your time and to see the return of SRK and Kajol jodi then go watch the film. But if you're looking for a good story or at least a logical film then really don't waste your money or your time. Thank you!
