Beautifully Created and Executed
17 December 2019
Incredible. I have no idea why one would give less than a perfect score. Absolutely brilliant in every way, from its young to mature actors, script, setting, photography, and social justice aspect. So much tapestry. I recommend this to all.

A Comedy for the Times
9 December 2019
A comedy, but also the beginning trope of what today makes up family comedies, including that of Modern Family and, to some extent, Black-ish, though, I'll be honest, there lacks diversity in the 30-minute show. That not withstanding, the plot is predictable but the actors make the story fun and work to compel a smile, as you will no less laugh - a lot. A good revisioning of this story is "Melissa and Joey," also very good.

A Strong Movie with a Point About Difference
26 January 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Wonderful movie that stands as an allegory to discrimination and difference, that true sight makes us blind, a similar theme in Oedipus Rex. It is only when we are blind that we see. I suspect those who hate this movie feel the same about IO in that a black man is both a hero and love interest of the heroin, which, by the way, makes the point in this movie. Watch it.

Worth Your Time if You're Patient to Consider the Ideas
25 January 2019
The bad reviews are short sighted and lack patience. This film is a work of art, having beautiful vistas, subtle special effects, and esquite yet subdued acting. I can't say it's a must-see because unless you have a sense of art, metaphor, and idea, this movie may be too slow or it suffers from inertia. But that's the thing, it is explosive and engaging, you just have to allow the ideas and structure speak without looking for the typical movie tricks. This movie is worth viewing.

Alfre Woodard is incredible
18 November 2018
While the storyline plods along, the characterization is strong, especially with regard to Alfre Woodard's breakout role. She reminds us of what the complexity of a villain looks like, and she explores every part of what it means to be filled with avarice, love, desire, intelligence, and hate. She makes this show better for its unsure plot at times.

Better than American Horror Story
19 October 2018
Scary and truly spooky. Because of its spaces, shifting of time, and use of innocence, this show is both sublime and far outreaches any other horror tropes. Watch it, you'll be glued. It's slightly better than the first and second season of America Horror Story, which, in and of itself, is timeless.
