A beautiful story among short films
28 February 2024
I had a hard time watching the movie because of the old man. We are born to die and the autumn of life is not very pretty for many. This is only a comparison to the old age of the actor Peter Eyre and how with insight and precision he took on his role. No, no, no one dies in the movie. And I'm back to what some short films can do. Beauty is passing away here in the envelope of the soul (meaning the body) of Ari. But in the picture there is the beauty of the young "thief" and the immense inner beauty of the protagonist. I will never forget the movie. I will definitely return to the film again soon, because what is British is usually very high quality in filmmaking.

That it's one of the best series, there's no question ...
27 January 2024
That it's one of the best series, there's no question about it and that's where my rating comes from, I respect all those viewers who experienced it to the fullest (and that's what it's all about) and shed hectoliters of tears worldwide, because this series hit a large part of the world of BL viewers , but I'll take a few digs anyway, don't take me too seriously.

I had a lot of fun with the opposites in the first episode. The brawler and brawler, Mok, a stubborn debt-ridden slob, who has also been in prison, with a girlfriend and, as a contrast, Day, a stubborn adult child, perhaps spoiled by his mother and a little spoiled, and in the next episode, a very fast incomprehensible turn ... From a wolf, he became a lamb with a whip, from a greased up hetero mechanic to a patient nurse in love with a young man, and Day's character suddenly changed quite a bit as well. Here, I would have liked more time for mutual "learning", grinding the edges of the characters, instead of the fact that in the next episodes the time was increased with cotton wool such as walking, cooking, running and other more or less lengthening scenes, and the plot stood a lot except for the matter with August. Then everything will return to the first plan, counting on the assumption that the audience will be wistfully talking about how poor Day is blind over the slow-moving plot ... and they would go crazy with tons of snotty tissues and tears in their eyes even if it was filmed Day going to the bathroom to poop and unable to find toilet paper.

On the other hand, the blindness was played very nicely and convincingly by Day, and kudos to the creators for a very tasteful and sensitive portrayal of a blind person, I mean it quite seriously and now again a little lightly - so nice that after the first eye surgery, the instrumentalist nurses apparently blew through his bandage hair dryer and hair straightener. But for a long time, I didn't believe Daya actually had feelings for Moka. Mok, that's a chapter in itself, it's cuteness in itself. I liked the character of Phojai (but also some other characters in the series), no hysterical and heart-wrenching scenes like how her partner "turned gay" and doesn't love her anymore. In ep.11, I was turned off by the predictable "artificial" breakup, instead of Day proving to his mom, who has to ask when he can fart, while he is a disabled but grown-up guy, how much he loves Mok and that he could leave with him despite his mother's ban and Mok, his love, would be able to take care of him even without his mother's money. And with Mok banging against the wall, that was a scene where I couldn't believe Mok and laughed out loud with rage at how they artificially lengthened it to make the last episode even sweeter. What bothered me the most about this series, which caught the attention of so many viewers, including me (!), was the incredibly fast transformation of Moka in the second and third episodes, the somewhat long-winded and sentimental slowness of the first plan, and above all the separation for a few years, I really hate that in Asian projects, and also that a relationship based on falling in love has to be worked on in order to grow into lasting love, and that requires an agreement, mutual respect, sanding the edges and not immediately insisting on a breakup (in that case, the one who insists on a breakup cannot to love the other to the bottom of the soul and to seek a compromise), that's why I can't give the story a ten.

God, this is incredible, what kind of lakorn is this
26 December 2023
God, this is incredible, what kind of lakorn is this, set in the first third of the 20th century, when the Japanese occupied Siam at the time. Read the description in the previous review by Barka, I'll just emphasize that the story must have been invented and written by the devil himself. We are in a time when the world did not wish other people, we are in the time of a Chinese clan operating in the territory of Siam, and the intrigues are so terrible, so surprising and every ten minutes they turn in a way that you do not expect. Absolutely no boredom, grown-up, no school kids. I thought to myself, I'll take a look at the first part and then I'll probably wait for the translation to be completed, but somehow it's still not happening, and after the first part, which is such an introductory piece, I just took a look at the second part. But that was a mistake! There it started in such a way that I devoured the series in three days. And that it is a pack, 17 parts of 70 to 75 minutes each! In addition to the intrigues and surprising plot twists, it is also a sky-high drama, mystical and sometimes even tragic (see the mushrooms), but that doesn't bother me, I also don't blame fairy tales for the story because they are partly fictional, everything was done so that the viewer, especially Thai , he didn't get bored. But on the other hand, beautiful visuals, a great theme tune and a song by NuNew that has 66 million views on YT and excellent acting in the Thai way. I was captivated by the beautiful sibling love, while the mothers scheming the ostopero, the younger brother, the brawler Yang, was every inch a symposus, the equally beautiful Jiu, who gradually fell in love with Thian, who was expected to succeed the clan leader, as well as both wives and one mistress the existing Song fruit and their two butler maids. A great experience for those who understand why it is filmed and made the way it is. The current rating on MDL 8.3 and IMDb 8.5 speaks for itself, who doesn't like Asian lakorns - I don't recommend it, others do!

A brilliant piece of director Tanwarin
5 December 2023
Three parallel stories are intertwined with the whole film, and at first it looks as if they were not related, to eventually completely combine completely. You have to see this brilliant piece several times to understand all the contexts and perceive each scene, because one next to the other is unique. The gay line is mixed mainly with Transgender and Travesti line. Those who have an understanding of the different differences of sexuality and the identity of human beings will certainly be absorbed by the film, because this problem has its excellent quality, story and acting quality in the project. And from my point of view, the viewer also spiced up with extremely loose actors in the roles of Tonmai-E, Fai-E and young monk Haiz, who receives newcomer Din-A and Suprov played their female roles and Saitarn, Tonlew, Docmai ... When I made a correction of translation into Czech and everything again after less than a year, when I saw the film for the first time, it fallen (the viewer must be very careful to understand everything at the end) and even though I do not normally look for every film on the theme of Trans, so I cried like a turtle at the end, realized how it was all well and originally thought out ... I can only interpret in the waves only in two ways: either DIN or HAIZ just imagined in dreams or it is at a time, When DIN was no longer in the monastery and HAIZ neither ... In the end, it is a piece of the director of the current series The Eclipse - Tanwarin Sukkhapisit, which for this film at two world film festivals for directing and the screenplay collected most of the awards (7 victories and 5 nominations). One victory belongs to the best side role actors - Prama Imanothai (FAI -E), this actor also plays in the next movie I saw - Driver.

My blood type ...
11 October 2023
I really liked this musical, which won thanks to creator Mike Spears at three festivals in LA, as well as in Florence and Palm Springs, and I will keep coming back to it. The choice of both main protagonists was absolutely brilliant. Not only excellent acting, but also singing. One song after another was a delight not only to my ears, but to the point where I wondered why there weren't more of them. Gradually, the story unfolded and I became more aware of the completely professional approach of Jay Towns and Trey Mendlik. Both mothers showed up a lot in the second half as well as some other characters and I was sad at the end that everything ends and I also enjoyed the end credits, which you must not turn off. I definitely recommend it especially to open-minded viewers who like this kind of film art. And I'm going to the musical again...

This series is very good!
17 February 2023
I can say for myself that this series is very good and it can't be affected even by the sudden ending, which the audience probably won't expect (I can't reveal more) and many may be disappointed if the viewer doesn't understand what the creators wanted to imply. Very good acting performances by both boys, especially Porsche (real name Karn), when at the age of 18 he handled this adult role perfectly (at the beginning and at the end he plays a professor at the university, where he addresses issues of the LGBT community in lectures with students). In addition, both main actors are beautiful and masculine (the second of the pair - Nueng was five years older than Porsche at the time of filming - 23 years old). They are not students walking slowly through the school corridors with affine hair on their heads, cut according to a pot. I was also impressed by the processing. It was not so slow by Thai standards, the school is less concerned, in the second half we find ourselves in the countryside around the capital of northern Thailand - Chiang Mai and on an elephant farm owned by Nueng's parents. I don't mind that there is not so much physical contact between the main characters (apart from the "rape" of Porsche by a foreign attacker), the series is about two friends and their journey to love each other, and I see the meaning in that love WITHOUT BOUNDARIES and TIME, as opposed to the fate of each individual (I would probably understand the "strange" ending here). The music is pleasant, the overall impression is sadly romantic ... and six years later, both main actors played the main role in the mystical series Dear Doctor, I'm Coming for Soul ... !!!

Sensitive and gentle
7 February 2023
The film is successful and very different. And you really need to keep an open mind and not jump to conclusions right away. All three characters were engraved in my soul, and not only because of the way the actors portrayed them, but also thanks to the fate of Pol, I raised the original rating of the story from 8 to 9.

So if someone can process personal experiences in this way, when most people first go through rejection, anger, understanding, acceptance, forgiveness... I am seriously amazed in this picture, this sequence disappears.

The music was sensitively chosen and perfectly suited to the style and character of the project, the processing was very fine and its highlight was the scene of Pol and Migs making love. Beautiful experience ...
