Reminds of Luc Besson
1 September 2023
Accidentally I rewatched "Leon" just before my husband showed me this movie and I immediately found a lot of references to it and to some other movies of Luc Besson. But of cause it also has its own personality. The action scenes were just amazing, 108 minutes are felt like couple of minutes because the plot grips all your attention, it's full of drive and the acting is quite impressive. I was glad to see favourite actors again, everyone was brilliant, I especially enjoyed the character of Kim Eui-sung. So, I highly recommend to watch "Special delivery", and i think Luc Besson's fans might especially enjoy it.

Bittersweet like a berry itself
15 July 2023
I really miss Blackberry and was both happy and heartbroken to see the story about my most favourite phones ever (and how i wish there could be a happy ending! Honestly i was hoping for a real announcement of the triumphant return of Blackberry phones in the end). The movie is bittersweet like a berry itself: full of humor, life, emotions, disappointments, it also discovered some facts and details I didn't know about. The cast is simply brilliant: what a wonderful job did everyone in this movie! Now i'm going to cry over the dead screens of my very first and the last Blackberry models whole night long.

it's not what it seems to be

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't like the way this movie distorted the reality and true personalities of Mark Putnam (who wasn't that honest at all) and poor Susan. I searched some information about this story after i watched this movie (because it didn't reveal the background as much as it could have done) and was pretty shocked about the real events. This movie made me think that he was just an honest man who made a mistake and failed to fix it (and had a courage to make a confession) and she wasn't a reliable person who most likely lied about her pregnancy and would be killed anyway (if not by Mark then by anybody else). But it is quite the opposte in fact, so it would be better to search for facts than to watch this movie.

It's one of the worst movies i ever watch. If you know nothing about Russia - better not pick such themes: it's not necessary to say to the whole world that you're so prejudiced and ignorant

Awfull
28 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
How can it be that someone who was (and will be again) a music teacher sings out of tune and has huge problems with rythm? It was the worst performance of the Beatles' songs i've ever heard ("Yesterday" was the only song he did good). His manager should have hired a teacher for him or made him a songwriter for Ed Sheeran. The love story is uninteresting.

A Quiet Place (2018)

not so bad but illogical
4 February 2019
Warning: Spoilers
1) Every human constantly produces noise: we can't control our heartbeat, and what we do while we sleep. And it's never said which level of noise attracts these creatures (but they tried to control their breath so i think they can hear even those noises we are used to ourselves, like our own heart) And this couple somehow made a baby! 2) It's a mistake to think that walking barefoot is quiet - it isn't: sand squeaks under feet, the rustle of grass etc , and it would be better to walk in smth soft 3) light signals: somebody has to turn it on in a case of invasion and make it quiet which is just impossible to do with a lever (it would be to noisy) 4) So, the army and scientists couldn't deal with these monsters and a common family became the smartest on the whole planet, but not smart enough to look after their kids. The end just doesn't make a sense to me. And if it was so easy why they didn't try to make it earlier

Fantastic rubbish
25 November 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I really loved the first movie but this one was a great disappointment: too many unnecessary characters (For example, Queenie was useless all the movie - i still don't understand why Grindelwald wanted her to join him; Leta wasn't a new character - just a mix of the old ones: Albus&his brother, Severus&Lily), less fantastic beasts, less Dumbledore (Jude Law was great), more mess with Lestrange and Dumbledore family trees, more strange twists (Titanic, Hitler. Yes, i remember that Grindelwalde was actually a metaphoric character, but the screenwriters decided to show the real II World War too), and the secondary idea of 'The boy who lived" (but in a dark manner). All in all it was awful.

The killing of a sacred time
5 October 2018
I understood that this movie will be rude, pretentious and superficial when i saw the very first moments with close-ups of beating heart and gloves covered with blood in a trash can (it's just too obvious to be a real metaphor). Then the plot turned an ancient tragedy into sitcom and illogical nonsense. With final titles i understood that the one thing that was killed was my precious time.

So-so
3 July 2018
Well, Paris Warner showed the victim behaviour well: young people who are used to emotional violence usually move as if they are "wooden", they don't know how to react "correctly", they have difficulties in communication, they are shy, unconfident, they don't know how to show their emotions and it's hard for them to get difference between saying "i love you" and actually meaning it and they can easily stuck in relationships they don't need because of the fear to hurt a person (or because of belief that it's a normal situation) etc. So without any help they can actually grow up into adult victims. Tim Flynn was ok. But the rest of this story is quite poor: i didn't like neither script nor other actors.

Boring
25 June 2018
In few words: boring, lack of logic. A looooot of contradictions. Zero humor, zero action. And i didn't like the idea that women are interested only in jewels and how to get them

Boring
26 March 2018
I don't know how anyone can really like it (maybe they have insomnia and liked this movie as a good cure for it) . I rewatched Blade runner 1981 (and found out it's still a brilliant film) and after that tried to watch the new one... Well, it was so boring i felt asleep after 20 or 30 minutes! And i'm not going to give it a second chance. Special effects are good but movie needs smth more than just effects to be called good or interesting.

Gypsum putten over a trouser-leg? Seriously? Just stop showing it constantly with different trousers it's just impossible. Where did poor punk girl from a far highland village get a MAC lipstick? Absolutely stupid eels and most absurd final i've ever seen. The baron might had really soft skull. The truth is that views and castle were the only things good to watch at. characters, plot and everything else was a disaster

revealing feelings
24 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
First of all there is only one story in this movie. The book is just a symbolic description of the story of relationship between two main heroes. She in her green dress imagine the color of the car (which belonged to aggressors in the book) as green. Because she was the main source of suffer in the life of her ex-husband. She was called nocturnal animal. She killed their baby and was gone. It's interesting to find more details while watching it. there are much more. What we see while she's reading are pure emotions of the man who was left alone with his own struggle and pain. But, though he imagines himself as a strong man ready to go ahead and win, we can see that she was actually right to call him "weak". He didn't get his revenge: neither fictional nor in real life. Because he still needs someone to believe in him, someone supporting and he himself doesn't know what to do when he gets to the final (accidental shot helps the fictional hero, but it also brings him blindness and death while the author simply didn't show up for a date).

La La Land (2016)

expendable!
17 January 2017
Warning: Spoilers
The story is inconclusive, narration is broken: we have start of the plot, just a piece of culmination and then final. What happened between? Am I myself must invent the motives of the two heroes? This gap in narration also makes the kaleidoscope of "what if..." senseless. Tapdance is muted by music - nonsense, this dance is supposed to be heard! Main hero walks in the same shoes for tap-dance till the end (what for? he will never tap again). This movie reminds me of Cafe society but simpler and with dancing. The music is good, but "Whiplash" had good music too and it was also stronger in many ways. Though I liked the scene in observatory and what the hero of Ryan Gosling told "Mia" about jazz. So, This movie is nice to watch only once. I will certainly re-watch "Hello, Dolly" or "West side story"... but La la land? never again!

it's like ravings of a madman
15 April 2016
Warning: Spoilers
to be honest the idea seemed good and interesting, the humour in few moments was pretty good, but... 1) Why i must believe in degradation of human beings in a closed territory if: no one from the start seemed normal and everybody had problems with morality; the territory wasn't close! It's just a building, not an isolated island or snowpiercer (which was a really great movie). These people went out for a work, they could simply move anywhere else if they didn't like this skyscraper. They could went out anytime they wanted, nobody kept them there by force, they could call police at least, but instead they decided to stay there with unworking electricity and lots of other problems. It's just unlogic thing! 2) Why i must believe that the character who was Neither fish nor flesh (except a few moments) somehow got all the power in the end of the story (or women just choose him to comfort them, why?) 3) some characters talked about this building as if it was a living being, well, if it was really supposed that skyscraper is the main character of this movie then it should be shown somehow. Talks of madmen will never convince me to believe in them. i didn't feel the power of the building (if it really had it). Whole movie is a mess. The idea was good but it's realization is nothing but a pretentious chaos. I wasn't shocked by cruel scenes, i've seen worse and i bet out too. so i don't understand people who told me that it has some special scary atmosphere. and my friend forgot this movie just after we left the cinema. She was absolutely indifferent to everything that happened on the screen and i know why: neither plot nor characters were intriguing.
