Hold the Dark (2018)
Confusing
I feel like, if we agree that alternate dimensions exist, that out there, where there are a multitude of different dimension all containing different versions of both me and this film. That there is one contrasting dimension, where if I could switch my dimensions version of this film with that one. I probably would have rated it 10/10 as wouldn't my contrasting counterpart.
BoJack Horseman: Chickens (2015)
BoJack Horseman, more meta than metaphysics... or whatever makes more sense as a summary, leave me alone it's my first review.
I watched all of season one and have made it this far through season 2, I had not yet reviewed anything on this website until this particular episode came up; as something I had watched after setting up my account . It blew me away more than anything else I had watched since setting it up and therefore needed to review my first anything on this website.
IMHO, this episode fused the show's obvious similarities with our real universe (as in it's westernised culture, characters and relationships and the way they interact with each other) with the fictional aspects of it's own universe (obviously, the fact that the world is made up of people and anthropomorphic/humanoid versions of every animal in our own animal kingdom). I have heard many arguments for vegetarianism and often agree but I also admit my own laziness and pessimism for not acting on it or possibly ever doing. This does not change from the fact that for some reason this episodes use of its meld of realities made me question my eating habits more than anything else has ever done before.
When I add this to the comedy to be found throughout the show. This primarily coming in what I found to be an witty satire on the way in which police in both TV and Film are written. Add into the equation the continuation in development of BoJack's character in a completely unrelated segment running through the episode that hold's true as the major element throughout the two series. As a bonus we also get other interesting character developments in this particular episode as well making this episode one of the most if not the most interesting of the entire series so far. It may have been a one off Todd episode, but the intelligent writing, for me, made it one of my favourites.
