Wonder Woman 1984 (2020)
What did I just watch?
I mean, there is no doubt Pedro Pascal is a brilliant actor. Or atleast in my opinion. The screenwriting is just lazy, the CGI is not in the standard of a DC movie, character development... meh. I just feel like this movie would've been great but just not as a Wonder Woman movie. Maybe another scenario where the concept of this movie happens (there is one by the way called Absolutely Anything (2015) ). I feel like Pedro Pascal dominated the entire movie with his acting and his perfect screen time. If you are looking for something out of the comics, don't. If you want to waste time, yeah maybe why not. You get bored time to time with very little action throughout the movie.
Cobra Kai (2018)
Just wow
Honestly I don't like binge watching TV shows for a bunch of reasons such as the fact that is finishes really fast and most shows aren't that catchy. But since episode 1 of season 1 I LOVED it. I remember watching Karate Kid part 1, 2 and 3 as a kid. Had me hyped back then and now with this show I'm even more hyped. This time we get to see the story from William Zabka aka "Johnny Lawrence"'s point of view, and of course with some twists. The acting, the directing, the screenplay, the choice of 80s music, are just too good to be true. The old cast is back and they are better than ever. Like Karate Kid or not this show is a must watch.
iBoy (2017)
Close enough
I remember reading this book when it first came out (around 2010). It was and still is one of my favourite books. Of course the book and movie have their differences but after all it wasn't that bad.
The pacing is a bit slow although it escalates quickly which kind of ruins the story itself.
The book and the movie have a bit of different story as of where in the book, "iBoy" doesn't get shot in the head instead an iPhone comes flying out of the window hitting his head.
The characters are a bit different than I imagined; but after all it's a movie.
If you have read the book I recommend this movie, it's a fine adaptation. If you haven't read the book just enjoy the movie :)
Busanhaeng (2016)
All aboard the feels train
If I had to describe this movie with one word, it would've been tremendous. I was eating a sandwich at the beginning of the movie but as it progressed I got so engaged that I forgot to eat it. Get ready for an action packed thriller. We've all watched Hollywood zombie movies but this movie just takes it to another level. I myself am not specifically a fan of Korean movies myself but this movie is worth watching. The pacing of the movie was a bit slow in the beginning but as the movie progressed it went from zero to hero real quick. As you watch the movie you bond with different types of characters which in my opinion, all of them represent a specific person in society. Eg. the businessman represents the guy who works a lot, gains a lot of money and thinks he is above all. The husband of the pregnant women; the guy who is always a bit humorous and would sacrifice himself for the sake of others. The father is also the person who works his butt off but is always a bit selfish. But as always he/she realises what he/she has done and regrets his choices in his past. Towards the end of the movie everybody probably smirked at the death of COO of the train company. But also, when the father tried saving his daughter and the pregnant women, he got bit. As the girl started crying "father don't leave me", I admit I cried too.I would watch it again although I know the plot.
