Ni na nebu ni na zemlji (1994)
Magnificent piece of art
Although immersed in a turbulent period of Yugoslavia, the movie itself can be transposed to the ubiquitous timeline. Taking that into account, it isn't solely picture of society caught in the midst of wartime; yes, it's depicting people on the brink of (mental) existence, trapped in society engulfed in crime and all kind of frauds but, on the other hand, it's an universal story about different types of people, here caught in one specific momentum which unearths their wishes and fears - their tragic.
A compositional scheme of a story is a bit scattered, as some kind of mosaic. It can be seen as a flaw but that enables, at least rough, sketch of all characters.
Actors itself are brilliant, as ordered for characters. Most noticable is Svetozar Cvetkovic, which acting in this movie can be compared to the ones of highest, and finest, level. Nonetheless, Bojana Maljevic is a great choice which gives that complementary note needed to completely illuminate Svetozar's character.
Worth of mentioning is music - songs of Momcilo Bajagic Bajaga are such a complementary element to the atmosphere.
Thanks to this masterpiece, mr. Milos Radivojevic!
