Brilliantly told story of bad choices
14 April 2024
Warning: Spoilers
The show was complex and hard to watch. Just as a fellow human you don't want anyone to go through mental illness. Personally I also hate the amount of abuse suffered by the main character as well. Why though he does he just keep making bad choice after bad choice? A lot of it blamed on his want of something more and what he was willing to endure to get it but I'm not sure I buy it. It feels like something else is just under his surface. Maybe in time he will reveal more of his story. I do applaud his keeping his stalker's identity a secret and allow her to try and get the help she so desperately needs. I would be curious to know more of her back story and why she became so obsessed with other people. The first 4 episodes were, for me, the best of the series.

Just ok. No Hill House
14 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I wanted to love this. I was so excited to see what was in store. The story was good and easy to follow. It was also fairly easy to know what was happening and why. There was some creative death scenes going on. My problem is in that they related it back to the opioid crisis. There are much better shows out there that deal with this. The fact they used this in a genre like this just didn't make sense and it made the whole series seem dull that this was suddenly the whole point. It isn't as over written as Midnight Mass was. Hill House is still the absolute best of all the series. It's a good binge though. Give it a whirl just don't expect it to be more than it is.

What is happening?
9 July 2023
Season was 1...nothing Oscar worthy but was a solid season that kept you engaged in what was happening. Even though it's obviously more catered to a younger generation, it was enjoyable.

But what is happening with season 2? The story is weak, and the acting is weaker. I kept hoping it would get better but alas, no it's just the same thing over and over and at this point I'm not sure I care who did what to who or why. Again I know that Freeform and their shows are geared for a younger crowd, but this is insulting to even them to have to watch. Just do yourself a favor and skip it for something else.

Nothing New
20 May 2023
Well, I don't feel like it was a waste of time to watch this documentary. I also don't think I took a single thing away from that was new.

It was very obviously done in a way that was trying to make key players look completely innocent. There's absolutely no way that some of those closest to her didn't have a hand in giving her what she wanted.

Documentary did include some footage I had never seen before. There was also some touching photos of her with her children. It's just a shame that her life turned out the way it did, and that she had no one there to guide her. She just was so unprepared to handle that level of fame.

Just ok on its own. So miscast.
4 May 2023
Don't expect any surprises. It's pretty easy figure out in the first exposure. I did enjoy the 3rd episode retold from Alex point of view. My biggest complaint is Lizzie Caplan. She is just so horribly miscast. They did her no favors in styling her character either. There was no smolder to make me believe he would find her so irresistible that he would abandoned what is portrayed as a perfectly happy home. I don't mind Josh Jackson He's a great actor and he's believable considering the semi bad writing of this newly twisted story. I'm on the fence about finishing it. I probably will but I hope something changes quick.

Season 1 10 stars. Season to ZERO
21 February 2023
The first season is amazing. Historical and attention grabbing. The things you will learn! Just a absolute outstanding job. The second season is just awful. Mankhe is the heart and soul of this and if Amazon just would have left it alone it would have been so much better. The passion of the story telling just isn't there. I couldn't even finish the first episode of S2. Season 2 is just acted out episodes with like a VH1 "pop up video"up thing going on throughout. It just makes absolutely no sense.

Be sure to watch for the fun actors from past shows and movies that pop up in season 1. Maybe they will do a season 3 with the original season 1 format.

Skip it.

Lackluster story and the acting...I mean I know we don't run to lifetime for Oscar worthy story or performances, but I do t understand how there can't be better acting. Just skip it.

Awful.

Literally the worst acting, and the fact it is so miscast made it even worse. Two stars instead of one since it was bad enough to made me right a review

Brilliant

Be warned it's hard to define this film. Lessons will be learned. It's dark, funny, heart warming, sad, and tragic. You will find yourself wondering if it's ok to laugh. Even though I figured a couple of things out throughout the playing of movie, the ending was a huge twist. Not everyone will like it, but it will make you think! Great cast, great acting.

So boring...
14 October 2020
Warning: Spoilers
I did finish the series and honestly the best part was the realization of who the storyteller was. I really wanted to love this, but it was just so needlessly complicated and some scenes just seemed to go on forever. If you are hoping for something as amazing as Hill House was then you will be disappointed.

Just Don't.

Terrible waste of time. Dumb plot. Stupid storyline. Subpar acting. I do not understand how it has the number one Netflix rating.
