The Prestige (2006)
Even spoilers will be of no help!
The movie, if to be described in a single word, is unbelievable, with the word taken in it's utmost literal sense. Christopher Nolan does his magic on the novel written by Christopher Priest in 1995, and brings it to life in a way no one could have accomplished. With his ability to use flashbacks and mixing the past with the present, Mr.Nolan makes those watching the movie, his audience. The Pledge is simple, two magicians; Alfred Borden(Christian Bale) and Robert Angier(Hugh Jackman) are set to out-do one another. But it seems as if every step the movie takes is The Turn of the whole trick and you must ask yourself, are you watching closely?. The Prestige is where you will be left mesmerized and trying to connect the dots.At times, it may seem as if the movie is moving too fast or if it's too hard to grasp but believe me, when the final curtain is drawn, you will know everything.
The Bourne Identity (2002)
Robert Ludlum's Finest!
Besides the obvious facts that Matt Damon did more than justice to Jason Bourne, and that Franka Potente and Matt looked really good together, all I can say is that the movie must have left Ludlum proud of his work.
Although the movie tends to sway a little from the book, the changes weren't drastic and at times, helped to get the story rolling. Everything from the time Jason is picked up from the Mediterranean till the time he realizes why he was there in the first place, is very well laid out. And who could have thought that Clive Owen, the main guy from Inside Man would be ' The Professor', another assassin.
One of my favourite scenes was when the Swiss police tried to take Jason to the police station when he was sleeping on the bench. The cop tried to hit him with his night-stick but Jason got hold of it and a couple of seconds later, the cops were the ones who were out cold, ...literally. Thank you for the awesome movie Doug Liman and of course, thank you Mr.Ludlum.
Adventures in Babysitting (1987)
A great movie, even today!
People might say this is an old movie, thus it's excitement and fun have passed away like the years since this movie was made. I'm 18, and I was fortunate enough to watch this movie even if it was yesterday.
The movie is really fun to watch and there is suspense so cleverly set in the movie that the viewer is often in a false sense of security and suddenly it changes. This was not the first movie in which I fell in love with Elisabeth Shue, her parts in Back To The Future III and Hollow Man were quite impressive. OK, Alright, I admit she is 24 years older than me but she is still as beautiful as she ever was. Anyway, where was I?. Oh yes, the movie. People , you need to watch this for yourself and this is a must have for your DVD library, you'll never tire out by listening to the brilliant songs and the music. Psst, Elisabeth sings a song herself in the movie. Hope you enjoy it.
