Uncoupled (2022)
Yawn.
Little wit; found it quite dull, to be honest. Good performances all around (especially from NPH), but do we need another show about uppity, wealthy, wine-drinking New Yorkers?
Murder in the Heartland (2017)
Careless production mistakes, good show otherwise
Fascinating, in-depth true crime stories; however, I have seen several episodes with careless typos in the screen title cards ("supect" instead of "suspect," "tounge" instead of "tongue"). The show needs a proofreader!
The Ugly Truth (2009)
As bad as it looks.
Dreadful sitcom featuring two of the most unappealing and overrated "actors" of the past 20 years, Katherine Heigl and Gerard Butler. Absolutely excruciating.
Roseanne: Roseambo (1996)
"Train Wreck" is the best way to describe this mess
"Roseanne" moved the furthest from its honest, working class roots with this godawful episode, arguably the worst of its (original) nine-season run. The final season's lottery storyline already yielded one proposterous episode after another; this unfunny action-movie spoof was the most ridiculous of all. Any subject can be made funny and intriguing with good writing and performances; if Roseanne (the actress) wanted to pursue the idea of The Conners becoming suddenly wealthy, then this final season was a stunningly wrongheaded missed opportunity. This episode is the best example of how far off course this show became in its final year. An infuriating, perplexing, and downright sad ending to one of the greatest sitcoms of its era.
I Don't Know How She Does It (2011)
Sitcom drivel, actually worse
Cliché-ridden, irritating mess of a movie with Sarah Jessica Parker (no range whatsoever; must we see yet another variation of Carrie Bradshaw?) as a career gal with kids and yada yada yada and who cares. Why was this movie made? Who is this movie for? How does Parker keep getting roles?
Collateral Beauty (2016)
Unintentional comedy
Will Smith mopes his way through this unbelievably stupid film; would-be tear jerker intended as Oscar bait, it was (deservedly) a critically mauled box office disaster. Scenes intended to make a viewer cry instead inspires the reaction, "Who writes this crap?"
Best watched with a laugh track.
The Michael Richards Show (2000)
Deserved its quick demise
Watched this recently on YouTube; it was only Richards rehashing his Kramer mannerisms with lousy scripts and a supporting cast that looks like they were held hostage at gunpoint. Richards' "Seinfeld" reputation must have been the only reason this horribly written show made it to air; it seems like two failed pilots would have given NBC a clue as to what they were in for. Awful.
Held Up (1999)
Early starring role for Jamie Foxx goes nowhere
A big snooze. Almost nothing happens in this film; the "plot" (such as it is) involving Jamie Foxx as a hostage goes nowhere with little action or humor. I've seen Zoom meetings with more excitement.
Incidentally, Nia Long's screen time amounts to nothing more than a cameo appearance. Despite top billing with Foxx, she's barely in the movie.
Keeping Up with the Kardashians (2007)
Lowest point in television history
If you watch this show, then you are an idiot and you should be ashamed of yourself.
Ben & Arthur (2002)
Narcissism runs amuck
Absolutely putrid movie. The script. The acting. The music. The editing. It would be a lost cause if wasn't for the hysterical laughter this piece of cinematic feces inspires. The director/star/etc. of the catastrophe, Sam Mraovich, succeeds in absolutely nothing except being delusional about his appeal and talent. This narcissist needs to get a clue; he has zero filmmaking skills and is possibly the worst actor to ever appear in a feature, even one that looks like it was shot on an Iphone. Pathetic.
