Predictable, but still much funnier and better than I expected. The characters were good and the movie was sweet. It is no Picasso, but it was 90 minutes of fun. Okay.

Some of lighting during the fight scenes was a little to dark and the intermixing of scenes with Japanese language and English subtitles through me off track just a little. The acting and fight sequences were very good.

I don't think anyone could enjoy this movie, but I think that people who saw it will be glad they did because of all the emotions this movie and this actress made them feel. Olivia Cooke was exceptional. I felt proud that the leading character was able to stay positive throughout, she was a winner who had not yet experienced winning. She will and she would go on to bigger and better things in the future. Mireilli Enos was great as her selfish and depressed mother.

Whiteout was better that I expected after reading the summary and a few reviews. I am surprised that given the storyline, that the movie was as interesting as it was. I would recommend it to a friend, with context. Don't expect it to be the best movie that you have ever seen, but it is suspenseful and fun to watch. Stick with it, it took 20 minutes to pick up real steam.

Each of the characters was unlikeable. Not a single virtue to be found in any of the characters or the movie itself. I think a more balanced view to character development would have improved the movie. Far too one-sided.
