The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power (2022)
Run you fools!
Incredibly boring.
Everything, everyone is either good, bad, stubborn, nice, pretty or ugly.
One dimension to rule them all!
The lack of depth is pretty impressive. And once you get over that you are left with pretty images hiding actors who have no clue how to play their characters and who will clench their buttocks very hard, trying to convince us that they are invested.
Everything is overcomplicated to hide the lack of big ideas for a good story.
Sauron is mentioned, every once in a while - like good advertisement, to keep us awake.
What a shame! For greatness was possible, this series could have be forged for a great destiny in Mount Doom but was dully cooked over a barbecue.
Triple Frontier (2019)
Check out the trivia
Just check out the trivia here about this movie. No facts about the shooting or the actors, just facts about who left/join the project before filming. I think that sums up the movie.
Big names to impress but you can't avoid the fact that nothing much is happening through out the movie.
At the end, you can't help to wonder 'all that for this?'
A movie that never leaves its comfort zone and fails to entertain.
Game Over, Man! (2018)
Very embarrassing
Such a good cast and such a lazy writing! It was really embarrassing to watch such a childish attempt of being funny or original.
Usual plot for buddy movies (best friend, then they're not, then they're back again to being best friends), very boring and lame writing.
La La Land (2016)
La La Long
My goodness, what a disappointment! Good actors, good director and rewards all over the place. Also I really enjoy the musical genre, so I thought nothing could go wrong.
But this film is so long, boring and self-indulgent. No songs or dancing scenes will make a fond memory and you won't be humming any song on your way out.
All the jazz bits are pretentious, I felt no passion of sharing like I had felt in Whiplash. Here you just have to accept that Jazz is this big and sacred 'thing' (frankly that the worst thing you can say about anything...) and get that idea hammered through your head throughout the whole movie.
The story is bland, with lazy writing taking over and being the main star.
This movie just got me bored and happy to see the 'End' sign. First time I felt that way after a musical film, usually you come out of those with enough energy to get you through a couple of days.
Rogue One (2016)
If you look away it's not that bad...
Money and nostalgia have taken over the will to tell an original story, where imagination could know no limit. Rogue One will fly you all over the galaxy just to stay in its comfort zone.
This was an obvious setup to deliver a story where special effects would be served for popcorn eaters. Nothing more, nothing less.
You learn nothing, you care about nothing... Story lines and characters are crammed in such a tiny space that you don't have time to care or learn to like them or understand their motivations.
In a time where terror and rebellion occupy most of our news it would have been nice to have a movie less black and white where clever questions could arise. There is no hope in that Galaxy anyway...
Star Wars: Episode VII - The Force Awakens (2015)
The Trailer was enough
Even with low expectations I was sadly disappointed. The trailer was so much better and exciting than the movie. Poor filming, poor editing and spending 2 hours with actors who had no idea what to do or how to act in some scenes is not something I want to reward with my money.
With a story that's already been told, I was hoping the movie would take some time to develop the characters. But instead, everyone hugs/loves everyone right away while evil people are evil all the time and all the way. And why does the bad guy need to wear a mask?! I didn't see any breathing issue there.
A very long and boring movie. I give it 5 stars for the good casting of Rey, BB-8, the first 15 minutes and the fact that JJ Abrams won't be directing another Star Wars movie.
