What a waste of a beautiful story

A beautiful series totally vtuined by the frequent change in timeline. It just doesn't let you connect and stay with the storyline. Whoever decided to use this timeline jump is responsible for killing the story.

The Brits at their Best!

It is British family drama cum comedy at its best. You keep wishing there would be another season. I so love this series with a stunning Greek location and a dreamy expat life.

It is simply Beautiful in its simplicity ...

I simply loved the ordinary, raw & genuine feelings and opinions shown so guilelessly. There is life. The movie has a life of its own and it goes at its own pace. The makers hardly seem to be concerned with audience reaction and that's the beauty of it.

A precious gem of a movie!

I so loved this movie or should I say saga... The raw, palpitating emotions, the earthy sensual urges, the absolute dark psyche of some souls and the love and beauty permeating it all...it is a lyrical presentation of Life. It pulsates, throbs and writhes in emotions that at times seem to be confusing and at times too real. I simply loved it <3

The theme is very very interesting and keeps you hooked till the end...but then the end sort of goes limp and leaves you wishing it was more robust.

Keeps you hooked...

I love the song the little boy sings at the start of the series. It is an interesting plot and has been made well. There are times when the thugs and crooks appear a little contrived but overall a nice concept and well carried out.

There is something very beautiful about it though I feel I can't just put my finger on it but it is super simple yet super effective and impacting movie and performance especially by Isabelle Huppert...she is so vulnerable, simple, sad and natural...

Self promoting & totally one sided depiction
22 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
It is so one sided that the other sides be it German or Arabs are totally ignored. The protagonist is so busy playing the role of victim and giving her own definition to the word "Forgiving" that she cannot even listen to how others (other holocaust survivors) feel. She has her own ideas about forgiveness which are totally self serving and the moment she sits with the Palestinian representatives the first thing she says is that she'd rather be in her bed in the hotel> As they tell her about the Israeli atrocities she literally tells them that she doesn't wish to hear their stories as they make her uncomfortable. She is very happy and empowered playing the role of victim and then self proclaimed "Forgiver". But when she is faced by her own race's atrocities she turns into a complete Nazi. It is so obvious in her mannerism and body language. The docu-drama is nothing but self-publicity and self promotion totally ignoring the feelings and facts presented by others.
