The Cutter (2005)
Fairly Good Film!
The acting in this movie was surprisingly good and very believable. Of course, it was fairly Hollywoodish in some parts, but I personally enjoyed it. If you are a fan of action, then this film is definitely for you. It has everything in that regard from guns to martial arts. Chuck Norris does a fine job of fighting and he and Ms. Pacula do a great job together uncovering who has kidnapped her uncle and why, but there is no romance at all between them. It does have a historical point to it as well, which I thought was interesting. I loved how it all tied back into the Judaism, that made it interesting if you are a fan of history at all. Some things happened way too easily for the characters, but some of it was believable. Spokane Washington is where the film was set, and coming from WA myself, I think that they could have filmed somewhere else that was smaller and had a far more interesting film with more scenery. All in all, this film was interesting and if you want to see an action packed Chuck Norris movie, this one is for you!
Warrior Angels (2002)
Entertaining
Well, I am a Joanna Pacula fan, so I did enjoy this film. While the whole plot was very predictable, the action and adventure were great. To see women in the Crusades actually fighting, even if it is fiction, is great! There should have been some romance rather than just a bunch of sex between the men of Grekkor's army and the ladies that they kidnapped, but that was the only real problem I had with the film. It was interesting enough and it had it's moments of being really funny, especially Eve's scenes, she was a total ditz! Luke was hot, need I say more? Grekkor hasn't aged as nicely as I think he would have liked to. And the kid, oh the kid...Well, he was just plain boring, and the whole movie is about him. So is the movie boring? Not entirely. The kid, Peter, is very cowardly and he has no idea whose side he should be on. His mothers, or Grekkor's...Grekkor begins to teach him how to fight and how to "be a man" while his mother abandoned him for a year to go fight in the crusades. When she gets back from fighting, her son is gone, she panics, and then goes on a quest to find him. The woman in the woods, Hunter, she seems like she is attracted to the ladies, which makes for a kind of funny feeling at moments. While Eve, the prostitute, is just stupidly funny the whole way through. Yes, it is a B movie, but it is worth renting if you need something interesting to watch just one night.
Moscow Heat (2004)
Cheesy...Maybe some spoilers...
But it does have some good action and a plot that is somewhat interesting. Nevsky acts like a body builder and he isn't all that attractive, in fact, IMO, he is UGLY. ( his acting skills lack everything! ) Sascha is played very well by Joanna Pacula, but she needed more lines than she was given, her character needed to be developed. There are way too many men in this story, there is zero romance, too much action, and way too dumb of an ending. It is very violent. I did however love the scenery, this movie takes you all over the world, and that is a bonus. I also liked how it had some stuff about the mafia in it, not too much or too little, but enough that it got my attention. The actors needed to be more handsome...The biggest problem I had was that Nevsky was just too normal, not sexy enough. I think for most guys, Sascha will be hot enough, but for us ladies that are fans of action, Nevsky just doesn't cut it. Overall, this movie was fine, I didn't love it nor did I hate it, just found it to be another normal action flick.
V for Vendetta (2005)
Wonderful movie. ( possible spoilers but I don't believe so )
This movie was awesome. The action, direction, production, and the acting are all incredible. The plot is interesting and it keeps you guessing the whole time. The whole movie, you wonder who V really is. You start to find out and some people really like him while others don't. The mask is something significant to the movie as well, representing a number of things. The thought of the world becoming the way that it is in this movie is something that often doesn't cross the minds of people, but this movie will make it cross your mind. I was on the edge of my seat the whole time I was watching this one. I loved it. Highly recommend it. Go see it.
