Barnyard (2006)

Light and fun; not too funny.

A fun, funny movie. I went with a friend from town (I grew up on a small dairy farm). We both laughed, but at different parts.

What I couldn't get over was the misrepresentation of the sexes of cows. (If they could, they would sue the producers.) Both male and female cows were female. They all had udders - - the milking parts! Only cows have udders, not the bulls. What is the point in that? I couldn't believe it! and I couldn't believe that no one noticed! or boohoo-ed it. Even kids are familiar with both genders.

I guess I forgot the references to drinking; I didn't recall the ugh parts. The music was loud and fun..appropriate, too.

More for kids, movie.

I saw the film because it was based on a classic tale...and I know Oprah was going to be the female goose. The pig, rat and spider are cute - in an animal-sort-of-way. The cows were hard to hear. So I tried to listen for when they were talking. Maybe there was other noise then or they spoke under their breath. But I got a kick out of the crows.

I Barnyard the Cows all had udders. The male and female cows alike. At least this one is more authentic - true to the species. The close-up of the spider and web is extremely well done... and all the oral animation matches the mouth movements.

Oh yeah, and i learned some BIG words, too. Like: languishing. More-for-kids movie.

If you have the time, watch this one!

Warning: Spoilers
I just watched the 7-episode DVD: The Mayor of Casterbridge. It was long and segmented. (If he is the Mayor why do they choose only family scenes?)

I kept changing the volume, because I found the voices hard to hear. They were either too soft and muffled or too loud and slurred, as in a drunken state.Besides, they were speaking with an English or Scottish accent!

One of the themes was about fathers: real fathers and what is a real father. The couple that comes together in the end, were cute. the Mayor, main character, was somewhat realistic, yet complex. He is his own man, yet haunted by his own decisions.

Does anyone know, is Casterbridge a real place?

Tess of the D'Urbervilles (1998 TV Movie)
Lovely scenery and music and love story.
7 August 2005
I enjoyed this movie: the music and the scenery.

But not all of the plot. The woman has too much of her honor at stake not to change her mind - to blame herself and then her husband for not leaving the marriage. Kinda queer..not like nowadays. Then when she does be able to love her lover, she seems 'crazy,' but not for long. How does that change so quickly? And Angel is forgiving of his own sin, but does a double-take when he finds out about her sin...which is ever so much more sinful. Reminds me a bit like Cinderella (Ever After movie)in not being able to love the one she loves.

Does anyone know the location of the mountains in the background. It looks like it could be from our backyard, not UK.

Please let me know, asap.
