Stargate SG-1: Full Circle (2003)
Fantastic banter
While the story needed some little pickups and flushing out this is a good episode. Whoever wrote the dialogue for this episode in particular got the banter and commentary between O'Neill and any others he interacts with spot on. The season that follows gets only better.
Dungeons & Dragons (2000)
A campy and cheesey cult favorite
I've never understood why I enjoy this movie. It's a cult favorite; something I acknowledge could be far, FAR better than it is. Jeremy Irons sort of saves it in a way, and the CGI was remarkable for it's time. If you watch it you need to understand that it wasn't well done and had potential that was squandered. However it has enough charm to be worth a watch.
Anno 1800 (2019)
Probably the best economic simulator I've ever played
In the earliest days the game had it's issues but the team that produced the game took to heart the suggestions by the players and have created one of the best simulators I've ever played. So finely detailed it absorbs you in management of everything that the game has to offer. The details are rich and you can zoom down into your cities to watch the lives of the sprites going about their business; both at home and work. Fantastic!
Warcraft (2016)
While I feel mixed, I finish watching it satisfied
Legendary Pictures has had some stinkers in the past and made even worse choices when it comes to the tone and set up of a movie. There are moments within this movie that feel stilted. They feel unusual and a little uncomfortable. However, that doesn't mean that it pulls away the positive aspects of the movie making it not worth your time. The action within this movie is fantastic. Visuals are well done. As a former player of WoW I was more than pleasantly surprised by certain levels of proper continuity, and the places that they made sure to include, and their true grandeur. I finished this movie, happy with what was chosen as a story, the characters they chose, the voices for the CGI, and for the most part the actors in charge of the non-CGI roles. What I disliked was the dialogue between characters, and the actors choice in how such words were spoken. This will go into my cult favorites. I only hope that they take the errors made in the fine details of this production and produce a better sequel. I cross my fingers for the future that it can rise above it's predecessor.
Game of Thrones: The Red Woman (2016)
A good start to the season.
This seasons start begins the story well with new and unexpected events. I feel a tad underwhelmed with some of it, however I feel there is so much more to come. As usual, I am left dangling with the future of characters and revelations brought by the end of the episode, with hope for more to come. First episode of the season, and I'm intrigued by what I'm seeing. Now that we've left the realm of the books, (I will admit I've yet to finish the 4th book of late), and now the story may or may not be true to what Martin wants the story to go. It still carried the weight of what has already been brought to the screen and I would like to think they will continue to do the series justice. Season 5 was rather weak in certain places so Season 6 should hopefully rise to the occasion.
