The Long Game (2023)
Becomes unwatchable at one point
The story had some potential, but the direction was outright awful. No depth to characters at all...the screenplay was quite rushed. Nothing worked, although the acting was semi decent, the story failed to invoke any emotions at all. Im surprised it has the rating that it has, that must have been because the viewers were forced to show support by the agenda of the movie, but in all honesty i think it did injustice to the agenda. If you are going to make a movie about a sensitive topic, then make sure you give it your everything. All in all a flat and boring movie, it was very difficult to keep myself seated for the last 20 minutes of the movie, it just became unbearable.
Sarbjit (2016)
Unwatchable
I was really wanting to see this movie lately, after seeing some posts on social media, that Randeep Hooda has done a tremendous transformation in this movie. But just 5 mins into the movie, the overacting became quite unbearable but i thought i would persevere and maybe it would get better, but it didn't...then i thought i would atleast wait to see randeep hooda's transformation...the transformation came and yes he had lost some weight for it, but it was mostly make up other than that, and the acting hadn't improved still. I was already 30-35 mins into the movie, and i did wanted to know the true story of Sarabjit, because i haven't read about it and wanted to know what happened, so i decided to ignore the acting and just get to the end of the movie, but few more minutes and i couldn't take it anymore, so after 50 mins i finally realised i could spend the remaining 1 hour of my time doing something much more interesting and i can just read what happened to Sarabjit on the internet rather than torturing myself through the movie. So i closed it, and honestly there's only a handful of movies i have left unfinished, but the acting and direction in this movie was really that bad, i don't think i've seen a movie with worse acting than this one and thats a shame cos the movie doesn't do any justice to the story, and it deserved it.
Budhia Singh: Born to Run (2016)
good topic but poor movie
It was a good topic and a much better movie could have been produced, but the direction and screenplay did the story more harm than justice. The movie was very bland and quite monochromatic. The inexperience and lack of skills of the first time director showed through very evidently, and last but not the least, Manoj Bajpayee keeps his streak of poor acting alive. No question he was one of the best actors in the industry at a time, but he is certainly the most overvalued actor in the industry today. It looks like, the producers sign him to make a quick buck by using his old stardom. He has become a tried and tested shortcut for producers who dont have much budget, who dont care if the movie is well made or not, all they want i to make a quick buck by starring Manoj Bajpayee and selecting a hard hitting, sensitive topic. But they dont wanna do justice to the script or the cause. And the saddest thing amongst all this is, the Manoj seems like he has become very comfortable with this sort of filmmaking, where he keeps getting signed even after delivering a less than a mediocre performance. He has gone from one of the best actors to the most overrated actors in the industry. Viwers are finally realising that low budget producers are using Manoj as a kind of click bait and that Manoj is more than happy being one.
The Mitchells vs the Machines (2021)
Wierd
Never seen a weirder animated movie than this. Everything seems forced. I have never felt more awkward, watching an animated movie before.
