Warning: Spoilers
I gave this movie 3 stars for the handful of facts that I learned about the Obamas that I thought were interesting. That being said, I remember watching an Asian film in college where the story followed an old man and a boy, with no one speaking the entire film; that was way less boring than this film. There is so much that I wanted to learn about this couple and their family that the film leaves out because it only tells the story of their first date. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. I hope this isn't the last movie about the Obama family, because this one doesn't allow the audience to get to know very much at all.

The Real (I) (2013–2022)

The show has good intentions...

Warning: Spoilers
I'm willing to support the show because I do think that Tamara, Jeannie Mai, and Adrienne are genuine people. They come off as just naturally positive and it's good to see that on TV. I will admit that sometimes Loni seems to not really belong, but it's not too bad. But Tamar...irks me to no end with her smacking and screeching and wig tossing. It's way too fake and much too annoying. I enjoy when she acts normal but it's like finding a purple and pink unicorn. No shade. A side note that also bugs me to no end, is that she pretends to eat on food segments (which they do way too often not to notice). That's weird. But having said all that, I will look past Tamar because it's good to see a diverse panel of young woman represented on day time TV.

If Loving You Is Wrong (2014–2020)

Where do I begin...

Warning: Spoilers
I've been watching this show since the beginning, and while I love an overly dramatic soap opera, this show exceeds the standards of unrealistic expectations. Tyler Perry has a problem with writing one dimensional characters who are either all good or all bad. No one is as evil as some of the characters he's created, and if they are, their motives would at least make sense. There is no reason for Randal to have anything else to say to Marcy, and yet he goes out of his way, after she's moved out and moved on, to continue to harass her. Why?? Even "crazy" has to follow some logic, and here there just isn't any. So herein lies the biggest problem for me; the characters don't make much sense. They're dramatic simply for the sake of drama without being human. And one additional note.... Tyler Perry needs someone on the payroll to pay closer attention to details. Things like having a man be suffocated with a pillow while having a breathing mask on....hard to ignore.
