Lift (2024)
Netflix Original is now a code for garbage
Low quality CGI is Netflix answer for all the poor quality scripts they invest in. The writer of this film has to be an adolescent teenage boy with pimples. How anyone thought this is a script to invest into is mind boggling. In the first 5 minutes of the movie the viewer already knows where the heist will take place.
I do not understand the number of members of the "crew" if there is no character development. At least half of the team has no purpose in this film.
Kevin seemed bored in this film. He did not put any effort into his character and I actually agreed with the decision to shoot the plane down. That is how little connection I had with the characters of this movie.
Penguin Town (2021)
I enjoyed the narrator
For me Patton Oswalt is a good narrator and I enjoyed him in this series. As a South African I am aware of the penguins in Simon's Town, but this is the 1st time I was able to follow their journey inside the town.
Charlie's Angels (2019)
Scraping the bottom of the barrel
Within 5 minutes the viewer knows the plot and ending. And it did less for woman power than Showgirls
Ma (2019)
3min to long
The movie is good, until the last 3 minutes. Then it is just unrealistic script with crap CGI
Serenity (2019)
Deja Vu
This is Truman Show with a generous serving of Matrix. The director tried to give a video game feel early in the movie, but nothing worked in this film
Wine Country (2019)
Pathetic
Watching paint dry proofed to be more exciting. Not sure if Amy didn't have a script when filming or if she couldn't direct.
The Mule (2018)
The Mule
Eastwood makes better movies when he doesn't give a roll to a plastic doll. So The Mule already started on a plus
Hunter Killer (2018)
Movie suited while the Berlin wall still existed
I just waited for Rambo to start killing the Russians. This was an 80s script with good/tough Americans & bad/stupid Russians. The moment the lead goes hunting, but then cannot kill the deer, you know this will pull out all the clichés.
Bohemian Rhapsody (2018)
Goosebumps
The trailer builds up to a crescendo & the film didn't let disappoint. Wow, this movie needs to be viewed on as big a screen as possible. The viewer must imagine you're inside Wembley stadium. Great movie and probably an Oscar nod for Malek
Skyscraper (2018)
Spectators are collective best supporting actor
The fact that the director felt he needed to indicate to the viewer when the hero did something amazing by using extras to applaud reminded me of the laughter soundtrack on old sitcoms. These spectators had the 2nd biggest role in the movie, which indicates the director's doubt in this film.
