Totally fine, if you don't compare it to the first one

Warning: Spoilers
I LOVED the costumes and music. Yes, the story is more than predictable but most actors were fine. I laughed few times, especially at the musical numbers and at the end. If you are a fan of Eddie Murphy, this is a must watch. Wesley was my fav. I think it lasted too long and the son character was....um a litle bit silly. Yes, the humor is not that original but I find it entertaining, though. 6/10.

A beautiful villian, obvious chemistry - no, no, no...

So yes, this are my two big problems - Thure is too handsome for this part and the chemistry between him and Antonia is too real and too inappropriate. Having this contrary to the main idea facts, I found it extremely hard to concentrate on the storyline, cinematography and acting. You probanly think that I romanticize the Stockholm syndrome or something like that. One huge NO. When I watch a movie, I watch each detail in it. That's all. As far as I tried, I found out that the acting was mostly okey, but I can't say the same thing about the story. It is understandable that the scenes will be hard to watch and so on but c'mmon - you can't narrate eight years in random situatations just like that. This is a movie and as a such, it should tell a story. In spite of and because of the subject. I have read a comment that it seemed as if she doesn't really want to escape. I agree, though I don't see where the problem is. Yes, Antonia had some weak moments, but I don't think this was one of it. Still a mystery to me, probably the directing was poor or the script was misunderstood by the book, I don't know. I also agree that more finnances would have made the movie better. The truth is, I felt a little anger and huge amount of compassion. But...as a whole, the movie didn't really touch me.

Different storiline, important message and good vibes all in one

You know, I've watched this movie probably 5-6 times. As a kid. I didn't get the the whole idea. I knew this simple fact, but I loved it. Now, many years later I thoroughly enjoyed this movie. Man, it's been a long time since I have felt like this, while watching a film. So, let me say what I have to say. The storyline is something old, but expressed in a new way. There is romance, but a mature, not a cheesy one. The main idea (that there is no need for men to read our minds, but to listen what we say, like in 80%, not in 3%) is smoothly expressed throughout the movie. My favourite thing was that, at one point, the main character started helping (you guessed right - women). And that's what makes this film up-lifting.

Not a pure horror (dear God) but a dark, misterious thriller

Warning: Spoilers
I didn't know it was suppossed to be a horror movie, because I watched it on the TV...otherwise, I would not have watched it, cause this genre (99%) is stupid, in my opinion. So, I got fast indulged by the storyline and as a person, who doesn't like surprises, I checked the movie and the reviews here. Somehow I was not surprised by the final, while reading your description, but I was dissapointed (I really wanted to know who the killer was and how the heck he killed all of them in one night)....BUT!! I really liked the movie. Trust me, this doesn't happen often, but this one was totally different. The unique storyline and, at the same time, the painfully normal teenage life, was unpredicatbly a great combination. I deffinitely believed this characters were real i.e. the actors did their job brilliantly. I recommend.
