Arrow (2012–2020)

Too much soap, to much failure, too stressful
22 October 2019
It was tolerable up to season 4, that's where everyone became emotional extremists and critically irrational for most of the show. There are inconsistencies, events that make no sense, too much hypocrisy from every character who demands respect and honesty but continuously lies and disrespects in every episode. The arrow team plans fail 90 percent of the time making them look incompetent, evil is portrayed as stronger and smarter, while good is portrayed as stupid and weak, the only way to win is by luck and not skill for the arrow team. Really disappointing.

That said, I enjoy the performance of the actors and will continue to watch, even though it feels like I'm sticking needles in my eyes at times with everything this series irritates me with.

The Flash (2014–2023)

Entertaining with too many pep-talks
15 October 2019
There's way too many emotional breakdowns and pep-talks that ruin what could otherwise be a really great show. There are inconsistencies with how time works, some things vanish when the past timelines change, some things remain like memories and journals? There's a lot of inconsistencies/inaccuracies with the speed flash can move vs objects he needs to catch up with which kind of sucks a lot. Still entertaining if you speed through the irrational emotional nonsense and other flaws.

Bad writing unfit for a serious movie, but good for Youtube
24 August 2016
The writing in movies these days seems to be getting more dark, emo, evil, and depressing. For this movie, Star Trek: Beyond, Captain Kirk says some things that the original Captain Kirk would never have said, things which are depressing and hopeless in nature. The original Kirk would have had a more positive and optimistic outlook on life instead of the dark emo outlook of this Kirk which sets the whole mood of the film from the start. The story line and script were lacking in depth, it was good for an amateur attempt you might find on Youtube but, for a serious movie that cost millions? No. The special effects were okay, it seems to be the same thing in all modern movies. All action, all special effects, darker scripts without any real thought in the writing, no real "Star trek" feeling to this either, darker personalities. Characters are becoming something they originally were not, losing their values and losing their identity. It reminds me of the fact that you can go into a video game store and find first person shooters, war games shelf to shelf. All of these movies are turning into the same thing, action and graphics without any real writing, no creativity and no loyalty to the original.

Disappointing, not true to the comic books
20 August 2016
I did not enjoy this movie, the characters personalities in the movie are not the characters of the comic books or earlier movies, they are very dark and depressing instead of intelligent and optimistic. There is a drastic lack of coherence, not only because the characters are not portrayed correctly but also just in general throughout the movie. I found myself thinking "That's not what they would do" or "that's not how they would think.." throughout the movie to the point it made it dull and un-enjoyable to the very end. The special effects of the movie were okay, there I think they did a decent job with special effects and if I were to rate it on the special effects alone I'd probably rate it higher, but I can't rate this movie based on the special effects alone and personally, the story line, characters and coherence are more important to me than special effects. I think the writers failed Batman and Superman in this movie, turning them into dark depressing characters with emotional and psychological issues and no guidance from intelligence, instead of the true Heros they should be written as.
