HouseBroken (2021)
Disgusting, Boring, and Depressing
The series relies so heavily on toilet humor for its comedy to such a degree that I found myself cringing and gagging quite often during my viewing of all available episodes.
The writing intentionally inhibits or regresses any and all character growth and development. Nothing that happens ever matters. There are no lasting consequences for anything that happens. Everything eventually and inevitably resets, usually by the end of every episode.
The series also suffers from having far too many characters and it definitely shows with each of them hardly having any personality. Most of the characters are so emotionally abusive towards each other that I find it actually depressing. And while it seems like the characters would learn lessons about not being cruel at certain points, they do NOT. Because, again, no lasting consequences and no character growth and development. The writing is so lazy, boring, depressing, and disgusting.
The series, overall, is unoriginal, stagnant, and mediocre at best and obscenely grotesque at worst.
Invader ZIM: Enter the Florpus (2019)
A Massive Letdown
The plot was all over the place, the pacing was either seizure-inducing fast or agonizingly slow, and most of the humor was entirely too forced. Throughout its 70-plus minute duration, I recall myself laughing at maybe two or three moments of the film. Overall, it looked like Zim, it sounded like Zim, but it felt like a poor imitation of Zim. And being a fan and supporter of the series as well as someone who waited years since the announcement of this project for its official release, I was honestly and massively disappointed. If this is the end of Zim so be it. Not all of the episodes were winners anyway and this can certainly be counted among the losers.
Breadwinners (2014)
What is TV Anymore?
I am not going to compare this series to other television shows because we all have out tastes.
But I will say this.
Whatever you might think was the worst animated television series to have ever aired in the US might very well have to relinquish its title over to this piece of garbage.
Sanjay and Craig (2013)
Toilet Humor at its Best
It's bizarre, weird, edgy, crude, and incredibly inappropriate. It's a children's cartoon that takes a big steaming dump all over media censorship while still staying just within the line of what can and cannot be aired on television.
It is a revolutionary work that has helped push the envelope beyond the realm of imagining.
Its content truly is disgusting, gross-out humor and the level of shock value and those moments when I think to myself, "What? What! WHAT!" in reaction to what I've just witnessed is what gives me cause to laugh out loud. Sanjay and Craig has often left me in tears because of how hard I've laughed at the show.
Admittedly, it isn't for everyone and I hold nothing against those who do not enjoy this sort of thing. But to those of you who feel compelled to insult its fans directly simply to express your opinion...Well, I just don't like you. Not one bit.
12 oz. Mouse (2005)
Awful
Adult Swim is notorious for producing and airing all sorts of terrible material for the sake of getting a kick out of trolling television viewers. A practice that continues years after the cessation of the broadcast of 12 oz. Mouse. That said, 12 Oz. Mouse remains particularly memorable for me as one of the worst things I have ever bothered watching.
Fans argue the show has depth and meaning and that its humor is an acquired taste....
...Color me blind for not seeing it.
Terribly animated.
Terrible voice acting.
If any of the characters had any semblance of personality (they don't) they would all possess the personality of someone who spends all of their free time smoking marijuana.
This show is about as humorous as elevator music...elevator music that isn't even played ironically. And that's pretty much the entire soundtrack with the exception of the theme song.
On a related note, I do admit that the opening theme was amazing. What followed was just total nonsense.
Teen Titans Go! (2013)
It's Just Noise
Unless I use the mute button while this series airs, II find myself quickly afflicted with a headache. It is that loud. The characters in the series have no setting below loud. It just gets louder and louder.
It was humorous at first. But now it's no different from a joke repeatedly told to you by the most annoying person in your life who doesn't seem to understand that the joke was funny the first time and NOT the hundredth time.
TTG in a nutshell, give 4 teenagers super powers and 1 teenager authority over the other 4 teenagers in the group. Then regress them all mentally until they've all become the intellectual equivalent of uneducated and unsupervised toddlers.
Steven Universe (2013)
Too Much Drama
I enjoyed the comical portion of the series and discovering a little bit about Steven and the gems as time went on, but the show has just spiraled into what seems like an endless loop of depressing and sad drama.Steven has gone from a musical, upbeat, comical, and whimsical boy to someone who thinks it his responsibility to ensure everyone is happy and safe and, failing that, enters a state of self doubt and depression from which he cannot seem to escape as every new challenge presented to him offers the same result as before.
I've begun to consider avoiding the series altogether because the laughter in it is just dead.
The Loud House (2014)
Not Bad but Not Good
The biggest problem I have with the show is the reoccurring selfishness portrayed by Lincoln in almost every episode with each one ending with him learning the same lesson over and over again in which he should be more appreciative and respectful toward his sisters only to seemingly forget that lesson in the episode immediately following it.
The characters are exceedingly stereotypical and that includes the seemingly progressive gay couple with their adopted black son (the diversity for diversity's sake cliché).
And the actual comedy is the same brand of humor that's been well overdone in both animation and sitcoms alike. One tired old cliché after another. Some of which include accidental eavesdropping and misunderstandings, wishing for something better only to learn that the grass isn't always greener, and more.
I found it mildly entertaining overall, but an eventual waste of time when I realized the series offered no new material to animated comedy.
