About My Father (2023)
Embarrassing!
I'm embarrassed for everyone involved in this mess... I actually sat through half of it...looked at the guy next to me and said "I'm getting my money back", he followed me (a man with his 2 sons, all strangers to me) we all got our money back! So let this be a positive lesson, if Hollywood puts out a poor product you do not have to pay for it! I don't like Robert De Niro as a person, but I've always enjoyed his work. De Niro has surrounded himself with way too many yes people or they are just letting him hang himself because they don't like him. As for the rest of the cast, I truly hope this mess doesn't harm their careers and Sebastian stick to stand up!
New Life (2016)
Another bad Christian movie!
This could have been such a good film...why do Christians have such trouble with the telling of such a simple and beautiful message? I will only leave you with my opinion on one thing so as to not sound like a bore... The phony French accent! Really, why not just scream...Another amateur film!
Persuasion (2022)
What the?
Ok, Hollywood is Trying to destroy great literature one bad movie at a time...turn off Netflix and open the book...and Netflix, get a grip before your go down in history as the biggest waist of intellectual space... in a world that can ill afford it!!!
Marry Me (2022)
Embarrassed
I'm embarrassed for everyone connected to this film...I'm embarrassed I watched it! I'm leaving this review to help you save yourselves from the humiliation of having to admit you watched this!
God's Favorite Idiot (2022)
Almost had me!
Was kinda of enjoying the mindless fun...but one too many, not so subtle, left agenda digs...and I'm done. Hollywood just needs to take a break from pushing the
"Liberal Agenda" ...we really don't need the constant mind bending!
Anatomy of a Scandal (2022)
Don't read the reviews!
I just finished watching Anatomy of a scandal and I really enjoyed it. I don't understand all the negative reviews, some saying it was far-fetched, of course it was... that's why we like watching shows like this, because they are far-fetched and beyond our reality. I thought all the actors did a wonderful job, brilliantly portraying the truly flawed characters that they were and the stress that comes from living with lies. The ending for me was fabulous, I wish life could tie up in a tidy bow like this!
Downton Abbey: A New Era (2022)
Downtown Exploited
I just got home from seeing Downton: A New Era and my husband asked me what I thought and I said, "I loved it, but not so much." Once I got over the Botox and spray tans on some of the leads (Michelle Dockery's beautiful English cream face still moved like a true thespian) which distracted me for the first 30 minutes, I found myself wondering who are these people? I consider myself a true believer in everything Downton, I have watched the series 3 time beginning to end and loved every perfect minute of it, but I find the movies a bit exploitive of the very classy and timeless series. I did enjoyed the beautiful scenery and the Obvious fun the cast seem to be having and where all their lives were going, even if the story was a bit cheesy. I wanted more of Maggie Smith. Her story was what the movie was about and yet I wanted more to be made clear...why was she such, dare I say it, A Prick Tease, in her past? Was she not happy with the man she was about to marry and after she was married was she having second thoughts, remember the Russian count? The death Scene brought me to tears...but where was her daughter and the words of trust to Mary to now carry the crown. No one came forward to hold her and kiss her goodbye and that awful ladies maid wailing at the end, whose idea was that and why isn't it on the film editors floor? Still it was fun to watch...but it wasn't 'my Downton!' I'm not saying don't see it, if your a fan you can't help it, but you don't have to love it!
The Power of the Dog (2021)
Bad reviews
I followed the advice of some of the more intelligent reviewers and watched this movie twice. I found paying close attention to the subtle expressions and movements of the actors very important, much is said when nothing is being said, I believe it is called great acting. It is really quite an intriguing story.
Secondly I would like to address this site, which I used to love but it seems you no longer screen your reviewers... Setting aside the unintelligible English that is often used, why do you except 1) Reviews that feel they need to explain the entire movie and 2) Reviews that clearly shows the viewer did not understand anything that was going on in the film. Please step up your reviewing protocols...I love reading intelligence well written reviews, I find them thought provoking and surely everyone involved in the making of a film would agree with this request.
The Starling (2021)
A lovely little film
Those who have been though unimaginable heart break will totally get this film. The three main characters, McCarthy, O'Dowd and kline give powerful yet subtle performances and the all the supporting cast is just as good. To those who did not get the bird and the correlation with humans...think about how fiercely you would protect the ones you love. Watch this movie and learn.
Tin Star (2017)
Rubbish!
I was going to write a review explaining my title but decided Tin Star had stolen enough time from me. Watched season one and I'm done!
Welcome Home (2018)
I was entertained!
I almost did not watch after reading the reviews but loved Aaron Paul in Breaking bad so decided to give it a try. Boy are you amateur reviewers harsh, the acting was believable, maybe not award-winning but not painful as suggested. The actress was good and she grew on me, I thought she was better than Paul. Ricardo was great at being creepily menacing. The house and shots of Italy were beautiful and the ending was cool!
Breach (2020)
Embarrassing!
I'm not really sure what's going on with Bruce Willis? I don't know if he's drinking too much or doing drugs or if his agent hates him? But someone out there must love this man...save him from himself please!
Drunk Parents (2019)
Drunk reviewers
If you wrote a good review for this movie, you had to be drunk!!!
The Ranch (2016)
Love the show
The story line is so real .... It is fun warm and romantic ... But please please please.... Lose the canned laughter..... We are not stupid ..... We know what is funny without the robotic cues of the stupid stupid CANNED LAUGHTER!!!! The actors are believable and draw us in.... You got a trifecta with the male stars and casting Deborah Wringer as the only true strong female lead is brilliant! We want more..... Just let Sam Elliot direct as much as possible and Debra should have a huge say in anything about the Dynamics of the family.... She is a mother and knows what will fly! If she says anything is wrong..... She is right!!!
