Bonding (2018)
Very witty, can't wait for season 2
I started this show to pass the last half hour before I went to bed and ended up watching it all. It is a "woke" show. All about freedoms, sexual of course but also emotional freedom. I don't know what more to say other than you need to experience it for yourself and do it with an open mind.
Avatar (2009)
Freaky stuff
Would be good as a twilight zone episode. Acting was decent and the theme was good but I wouldn't watch it a second time even if I got paid all the money in the world
The Flash (2014)
Enjoyable but has cringey parts
First off, I really enjoy this show. It is basically my Saturday cartoons. The characters are well written and I love the use of Tom Cavanagh playing multiple character.
Each character has their own place in Team Flash and they've got very unique personalities. The big cringey problem I have with this show is that: Barry Allen does not have a tactical brain.
He feigns strategic leadership but if he had proper training from- I don't know the Green Arrow or his cop adopted dad/father-in-law- He could be more successful as a savior of his city. I get that he's got a big heart and I get that the show is teaching the viewer an important lesson through The Flash but it would be nice to see him evolve from a sensitive, down to earth hero with little tactical skill to someone of the same cloth but with better training.
Supergirl: O Brother, Where Art Thou? (2019)
Decent, kind of slow
It didn't occur to me until this episode how vital it would be for supergirl to have emergency medical training. I got so mad when she found James shot and didn't immediately start tending to his wounds or calling for help. This is your family friend's life on the line!
And Lex Luthor is one of my favorite villains - next to Katie McGrath's in Merlin- but I found his escape unrealistic (I know that's a lot to ask for in a fictional superhero show but still... come on) Those prison guards followed the classic stormtrooper trope where they either didn't get a single shot off or they miss by 30 miles. Not to diss the actor but I don't see him as Lex he's not a scary enough actor.
Scream (1996)
Didn't really hold up over time
I can honestly say I liked the Parody version of movie is better (Scary Movie). They kind of disrespected Jamie Lee Curtis many times, she was part of birthing this movie and they just dissed her.
The repeated call backs to horror movies got really old. It was clever to add but when they kept repeating themselves over and over and over and over and over and over and over and over again I got pretty annoyed. Best parts of the whole movie is when Henry Wrinkler was running around and met his demise and the last 20 minutes but the very end was lame.
Curse of Chucky (2013)
Was like waiting on a slow cooked meal only to find it unseasoned
Chucky doesn't get discovered or even terrorizes anyone until an hour in the movie when he makes his first kill: a half naked and ignorant character. So unsurprising. To be fair scary movies don't make me jump but I just expected something better because frankly dolls freak me out. Overall it felt like a filler movie, I've dealt with filler episodes but an entire movie?! Come on Don Mancini!
American Horror Story: Traitor (2018)
Twas a bit of a sleeper
Definitely a filler episode, as in it filled the blanks and felt natural. Downside is it didn't hold my attention 100% so if you're easily distracted keep that in mind.
Supergirl: Fallout (2018)
Hero brings hope
This is what I came to this show for. It has a very comic book feel and it is relevant, to the very day that it aired! It shows Americans are more than just the stereotype it calls for. America is diversity by definition.
Supergirl: American Alien (2018)
Kind of a bummer + factual errors that continue to bother me
I get this show like to use politics but this whole episode just had me bummed out. And some of the writing was plain stupid. Why would a highly intelligent government agency bring a helicopter to stop an EMP? And why were the secret service agents so terrible at their job? They came to a complete stop when the bad guys came in shooting at the president when all they had to do was shove her into the vehicle.
But what did I expect. If every character could be smart and good at their jobs then the writers would actually have to their's.
Hickok (2017)
Fun movie. Wouldn't buy a movie ticket but fun.
I liked how they reused the intro scene to American Outlaws (2001). 100% serious, no shade. I think they did a better job with the classic duel weild on horseback than the Jesse James movie.
One thing that bugged me was how the whole movie seemed to have major scenes cut out of the storyline so it wasn't as good as I believe it could've been.
The Big Bang Theory (2007)
Great show of you love canned laughter and cringing the whole time
I never choose to watch this show but since my old roommate always watched it I gave it a chance. I'm not a nerd so maybe I don't get it but how freakin selfish does sheldon have to be?! He does a few - well I wouldn't call them all grand- okay gestures to keep his friends who obviously only hang out because of circumstance. There's no empathy and it makes people with mental disorders all look like a-holes. I couldn't find one whole episode I liked in the first 3 seasons but there were a couple good enough jokes.
Invincible (2006)
Disney?! Wow, way to go!
This movie is the reason I grew up an Eagles fan even though I've never been to Philly. No spoilers but this is a movie I'd recommend to my best friend's worse enemy. It's just that good that I think everyone deserves to see it at least once.
