Star Wars: The Bad Batch: Cornered (2021)
Exciting episode!
This was filler done right. The episode had a good pace and was exciting and action-packed from beginning to end. The reason for the side-mission also makes sense and we're introduced to an interesting new environment that CW fans will recognize. The episode also seems to open up a new longer arc for TBB that may stretch several episodes as they investigate this new threat. The changes that are happening in the galaxy are further eplored and we get a lot of fun, exciting and charcter-building moments with Hunter, Omega, Wrecker and Echo. All-in-all, a great episode that's opens up more plot for the show.
The Disappointments Room (2016)
Strange movie
There are two different versions of this movie, the one showed in cinemas contained a few good scenes with some decent acting by Kate Beckinsale and the version for sale, which had none of those scenes.
The directing is not absolutely terrible, but it's below average. The acting is not great but it's not the problem with the movie and it's not too bothering.
The actual "disappointments room" mentioned in the title is not important for the plot in any way. Until around 70 minutes into the movie it is not clear at all what the movie is about. It is then revealed that the imagined old man wants to punish her for killing her second child by killing Lucas. A clever plot though it has absolutely nothing to do with the "disappointments room". That is at least what I thought was going on until I realised that the boy also saw the girl, who Dana had imagined all along.
One of the things I found most annoying about this movie is the fake scares. Since the actual "disappointsments room" and the old man in it is not at all scary they had to throw a bunch of them in to make it seem "scary".
This movie is not scary and should almost not be categorized as a horror movie at all, and the plot and execution of it is so bad it maybe should even be called a movie at all.
La La Land (2016)
The second best movie I've ever seen
Every single scene in this movie is perfect on almost every level. No other musical has integrated this good music scenes into the plot this seamlessly before. Much of it comes down to great performances by Ryan Gosling and Emma Stone, obviously.
Music is fantastic, the acting is incredible but the message and ending of this movie is by far the best. The best ending of a movie I've ever seen, and it could not be more mature and original.
This movie deserves many Oscars and I'm glad it's been nominated for a bunch. I recommend this movie to anyone, it is a movie that will be remembered for a long long time. 10/10 easily.
Triangle (2009)
Incredible!
I can't possibly praise this movie enough! The plot is fascinating! The acting is not the absolute best, but definitely good enough.
The amount of detail that this movie needs to make sense is extraordinary, and luckily it's got all of it. The director must have thought of pretty much everything.
Though I have to say, to appreciate this movie, you have to understand all of the actions that the character makes and how it ties together with the backstory. If you don't quite understand the logic in the movie, there is an amazing YouTube video explaining every single step in the movie. Search "Triangle Movie Logic" and you'll find it. But be sure to watch the movie at least once first.
