Project Iceman (2022)
A message about perceptions and their impacts
The documentary made me think about how a lot of us have likely grow up with perceptions being put down upon us at young ages. We can get past that once we break our own can't do perceptions and don't hesitate to ask others for help in new projects. He completes an ironman in Antarctica as this project featured and our own project can be whatever we choose for ourselves. And then find the next one! Thank you Anders and Yes Theory! Also loved the story telling pace. I have a project planned for this weekend doing something I've never done and then I'll find a new one to work towards. Looking back I've been doing this a lot and it's something I should be more proud of.
Aftershock: Everest and the Nepal Earthquake (2022)
Privileged drama
The earthquake devastated a region and this focuses more on the wealthy privilege of tourists. Without them maybe the footage wouldn't exist so they should be a part of it but it could have at least shared focus on the loss of the people who lived there more. Unnecessary to share the drama of the money and the way it dragged out. Over 9,000 people dead and this just focused on people who, once they got out, would still be going home to families, homes, jobs, and bank accounts. Lesson learned here is that when you're faced with a disaster your best way to survive is with money in the bank and a satellite device.
Space Jam: A New Legacy (2021)
Better than the original
Bad reviews appear to all be based on nostalgia remembering the original for more than what it was. This was quality with laughs and lots of jokes for all ages. A money grab? Well, no duh. All movies are. You weren't watching an indy film here. Great to see the Looney Tunes on the big screen again and a good story. Dad's, stop making your kid be like you.
Panic (2021)
Great premise, poor execution.
Could have been better condensed into 5 or 6 episodes and focused more on the game vs what felt like 90% of the 10 episodes being about character building that just dragged on.
True Romance (1993)
Best of all time.
The greatest love story ever told. It's 2021 and still amazes me when Tarantino fans say they've never seen this movie. Best story and the cast is mind blowing.
A Score to Settle (2019)
You'll still watch
You'll watch because it's a Nicolas Cage movie even after reading the bad reviews and bad as in disappointing, not a good bad. The Cage paradox continues.
Tenet (2020)
I'm pretty sure I loved it
At this stage you either enjoy or just really hate Christopher Nolan movies. If you hate them, why bother watching? I love them and after watching this twice I'm even more confused which is fine. Everything doesn't have to be a linear A to B and only one outcome.
Excellent casting throughout as well!
Fatman (2020)
A strong Santa!
Took some time to let the movie sink in and realize that this is definitely a Christmas movie with the same message as all the classics but it's delivered without the cheesy happy sing along at the end. I see this as either a love it or hate it type of movie. I loved it. It's a different look and fits with the times. It also makes Bad Santa look like a G rated family comedy.
Borat Subsequent Moviefilm: Delivery of Prodigious Bribe to American Regime for Make Benefit Once Glorious Nation of Kazakhstan (2020)
Brilliant!!
Brilliant and full of laughs within the first 10 minutes that continue. This has Borat in the title but Tutar Sagdiyev aka the daughter of Borat aka real name Maria Bakalova is a new star.
Hooking Up (2020)
Bad
Gave it a 3 because I somehow managed to watch the whole thing. A recovering addict that sucks someone into her addiction, a person dealing with his own issues. The cast had some chemistry but the basis of the movie up to the happy ending was bad.
The Babysitter: Killer Queen (2020)
Even better!
The first was so bad it was great and I didn't expect the sequel could be better but it was. Laughed, cringed, and scared the cats yelling OMG with a laugh.
Ava (2020)
Pointless as most reviews state.
Great cast, horrible story. Actually, no real story. An assassin movie that doesn't know if it's an assassin movie or old love story. Two stars instead of 1 because I managed to watch the whole thing. Why did they hate each other so much? Who ran everything anyways? Who cares. Waste.
The Binge (2020)
Not even stupid entertaining.
Not even stupid entertaining. Worst movie Vince Vaughn has been a part of. Maybe it would've been better if it was about drug binges for adults it could've been better.
