I don't know why
30 September 2021
Little more than halfway through episode one, slow burner...I can't seem to pay attention. Either I'm uncomfortable or saddened. Maura Tierney and Jeff Daniels. Wow, I've missed you guys.

My God, what a ride. Well done Horror with all the deets of racial inequality and violence
14 April 2021
A must watch if you're a horror fan. Think of the film Get Out but with ten times the scare. Even if you lean right. Please don't be cooled off by the subject matter. Can be confusing, at times. Give this one a watch. Fear and tension is the name of the game in THEM.

The Spy (2019)
6/10
Dragged out obvious end of a Spy
10 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Sasha Cohen did an excellent acting performance, I wouldn't expect anything less. The writing was decent as well as was the filming.

I'll make my review short. The limited series, which is six hours in lenght, comes to an obvious end, and the audience is supposed to be upset and angry at the Syrian people/government.

Warning Slight lead in to a spoiler. Off topic but seems relevant. Julius and Ethel Rosenberg were executed for espionage by the American government in 1953 while in their mid-thirties. Accused of provided top-secret information about radar, sonar, and jet propulsion engines and were also "accused" of transmitting valuable nuclear weapon designs; at that time the United States was the only country in the world with nuclear weapons. You have to remember there was a Red scare running rampant along with Cold War paranoia. So the Rosenberg's were made an example of by prosecutor Roy Cohn, (yes, Trump's Cohn) The couple were electrocuted till dead at Sing Sing in NY.

Okay, back to "The Spy" series. I would not have watched if Sasha Cohen was not in the cast. Not worth your time or sympathy, some may say I'm unfeeling. Fine, the series had a great leadup to an end that was expected but at the same time a letdown. So, to sum up, a dramatized true story about Eli Cohen, an Israeli spy (deep in it) in Syria during the early 1960's. Five hours I'll not get back.

Violence, Cars and Dangerously Pretty Women. A Guilty Pleasure
24 July 2019
My heading pretty much sums up The Baytown Outlaws. If you like a fast ride on a motorcycle you'll really enjoy the ride this movie offers. The color of the film is tinged with a bit more orange, sort of Tarantinoesque. There is lots of gun fights, car chases and motorcycle ladies. The plot is about a mother wanting to keep her child. No spoiler here, but, Michael Rapaport is a good surprise and gets surprised. All in all a fun ride with some great action and acting.

Jennifer Aniston looks great / Adam Sandler's hair dyed too dark
18 June 2019
Supposedly this light fare is a dark comedy. Funny at times, dark, no. As my title mentions Sandler's hair is way too dark, that's funny. No matter, the movie is entertaining with Monaco as the the backdrop, while the famed Formula 1 race takes place through the city streets of Monte Carlo. Funny and out of place, if you're an F1 fan, you'll see an MSNBC logo in a advertising placement on one of the racing Formula One cars.

There are lots of hijinks and butler jokes, it's a who done it movie, lowbrow style.

Worth your while for a light comedy, not a complete waste of time, and Brad Pitt was a fool for leaving Jennifer Aniston, she looks great and is a good fit in this film.

You (2018–2024)

The social media "Dexter", sort of.
12 February 2019
"YOU" is written with the cell phone, social media obsessed, University experienced, attractive young people of NYC as the scenery. The real "YOU" ?, well you'll have to watch and listen to this newly narrated series to enjoy some oddly sexy scenes in a thrilling new addition to Netflix. I'm rewatching the first five episodes over, this time with my wife, so we can enjoy "YOU" together.
