This was a great heart felt movie. It was sad at some points but overall very good. It was well acted and had a good story. There were lots of funny parts that make you wonder if that is what your dog is really thinking. I have 3 dogs and I often wonder what they are thinking.
Ignore all of the negative news stories about it. There were several dog groups present during filming. All of the dogs were treated great. This movie was filmed 18 months before it was released but the negative press came out the week of release. If there were really problems, why wait 18 months to bring them up? This was someone's way of sabotaging the movie with media nonsense.
See the movie and keep an open mind. You will be glad you did.
It's too bad that dogs who have bad lives, like the one who was chained up outside in the snow most of his life, really can't come back and have good lives.
I wish they would have put a message at the end about if you get a dog then you need to treat it like family and be responsible for it. You are committed to take care of it until the end of the dog's life or your life.
Every year in this country millions of dogs and cats are put to death due to overcrowding at shelters. Some of them only have a few days to get adopted before they are killed. This is unfair to them because they have done nothing wrong, just like the first dog in the movie.
We allow rapists and murders to live in prison for years but these poor animals only get a few weeks. I makes no sense.
The message of this movie should be to teach children and adults that puppies and kittens grow up. They are a big responsibility so know the responsibility before getting one. They will reward you with their love and make your life better.
