Puss in Boots: The Last Wish (2022)
It's great, but it's weird that it's a PG13 movie about the cat from Shreck
For context I am in my mid 20s, I smoke and drink, I have no kids. But maybe think twice about taking young kids to see this movie.
In the first fifteen minutes, I thought this might be a bit scary for younger kids. Perilous situations and whatnot, but that's fine. A lot of great kids shows skew 10+ like Gravity Falls and many others.
But then the censor bleep happened, followed up by an insinuation of that same cuss, then a slew of bleeps that involves the phrase "f$%# nugget". It's wild to me to not only "throw in jokes for the adults" but also very clearly shows an outline for children on how to use swear words.
Not only that, it's really lazy joke writing. "$#!% for brains" could so easily be "kibble for brains".
Both that, and the humor in general is really lacking. Otherwise the visual spectacle and emotional beats are top notch, I'm sure you'll find plenty of reviews saying that.
These are just my thoughts on whether or not this is the cute Shreck cat you want your 6 year old to see.
Letterkenny (2016)
Not so bad
Saw the clips on Facebook years ago, I didn't know it came from a full show! Also I really want all-dressed chips, Crush cream soda and malt vinegar on every diner table
Most Likely to Murder (2018)
Hey dum dum! You don't have to like the protagonist!
The point is that the protagonist is a garbage person. So many reviews saying "Adam Pally is so unlikable" that's the point.
It's not boring, it's funny enough, it's less than 2 hours long. It does its job of being a comedy murder mystery, and you really don't get that genre at all, so give it a try
Izzy Gets the Fuck Across Town (2017)
Not really a 10/10, I liked it though
I don't know why people are so mad at movies these days.
"Wasted talent"? No! Everyone did well, some characters only have one scene because they can't afford to have big people on set more than one day.
"Pointless"? What does that even mean? Respect artists, there is no such thing as a pointless movie.
At parts it was funny, at parts it was sad, corny and quasi intellectual. An actual 7 out of 10 but the reviews I'm seeing are just unfair!
Mandy (2018)
Love or hate? I say OK
Pros: entertaining, Cage, decent story. Cons: The first act, plot holes, accents all over the place.
This is a thriller about a drug cult that kidnaps the protagonist, there are dozens of movies that hold that premise, but this one looks cool and has a Zach Snyder-esque chainsaw fight
Pet (2016)
A-game not brought
Love the cast, but they clearly weren't into it, come on director! Dominic Monagan needs to decide on an accent, the character doesn't need to be american, so why try at all?
Syndicate Smasher (2017)
Just wow
Aww man, we messed up that scene should we do another take? Nope! Horrificly bad, a great bad movie. Seriously though I'm not sure whether or not I'm watching this ironically not.
Small Apartments (2012)
I like Matt Lucas when he's funny
This movie isn't very funny, I would classify it as a comedy/drama but the comedy didn't land. Jokes came and went, I couldn't care less because they were not good jokes.
Half-decent story, 3rd act was pretty good
Also throw that voice over in the trash
Going in Style (2017)
Do It! Watch it!
I feel great, this movie made me feel good. It's surprisingly funny, and also touching but not like beating you over the head with feels.
Come on, you've had a tough day, you deserve to watch this movie
Cooties (2014)
Not sure who this is for, it's ok?
Not that funny, but kinda sometimes, feels longer than the runtime of only 88 mins, and a lot of fine actors, but their chops certainly don't show in this one
