Too Late (2021)
Too Little (Mary Lynn Rajskub), Too Late
As another reviewer put it, this movie is cute. I watched it for the sole reason that Mary Lynn Rajskub got top billing.... She had perhaps four minutes in this movie, which is sad because she's such a powerhouse of awesomeness.... Everything she is in is better for her being in it. As it was though, this movie is OK. It was hard to care for the characters enough to really care when they were in any danger. On the bright side, I discovered Jenny Zigrino and will be watching more of her work. Fred Armisen was also in it a bit, and really, what isn't Fred Armisen great in?
I think it could have been whittled down a bit and been a third of a horror/comedy anthology movie along the lines of Creepshow or Steven King's Cat's Eye where it could be the center piece book-ended by two better-made films. This isn't a fife or nine star movie like I see other people have rated it, but it's no worse than a solid four stars.
Depraved (2019)
Fantastic retelling of an old story.
This is a great interpretation of the Frankenstein story. Larry Fessenden once again flexes his storytelling muscles and it really shows that the guy has been working out. Mr. Fessenden has quickly become a director whose work I seek out, and movies like this one is why. This is quite possibly his best work to date.
I don't review many movies and mine isn't a new account... I've been here a while. This movie was good enough that I felt I needed to give it my written support. Give it a view.... You shan't be let down.
