Dirty Rotten Scoundrels (1988)
Funniest movie ever
Ok. We all have different ideas as to what is funny. But this has Michael Caine, a great actor as always, and Steve Martin, who can overact, really compliments him in this and does a surprisingly great performance.
The other requirement, for me, to label it as a great movie is to not be predictable- it isn't!
The script is well written and so well portrayed by both actors. Love the police chief too.
I've never given a 10 rating to any movie but this is the one.
I've seen it several times and still laugh out loud.
It stands the test of time and is a great feel-great-after movie. And I'll watch it again.
I highly recommend this one for an enjoyable evening.
What Lies Beneath (2000)
Great psychological thriller
I loved this movie. I jumped in my chair a few times. Although there are a few things one would expect at the end; it's not enough to take anything away from this movie.
The acting is superb and the plot is well written and the script is natural and believable (important element for me when watching).
I really had no idea during the movie what would happen next. Harrison Ford is his usual-an excellent actor.
So many thrillers are quite predictable- not this one.
The many changes in Michelle Pheiffer are believable as they happen considering her stress.
One never knows who has been injured or killed and who is losing it.
The unpredictability of most of it, not all - although that doesn't detract in any way from the unexpected development of the plot- is what makes it's so frightening.
I definitely recommend watching this one.
Steppin' Into the Holiday (2022)
Not worth watching even if you're a,Christmas movie fan.
I love these Christmas movies,- sappy (predictable ir cheesy ( or not) not as long as the acting and script are believable. I have to be honest, I couldn't finish watching this as I thought both were pretty pitiful. I have seen Mario Lopez in other movies and he was okay in them.
Not in this one. Maybe its the fault of the script but I really don't think so. I just thought it was basically a waste of my time.
The script in unnatural as is especially Mario's performance.
I just watched, Dancing Through Christmas. No comparison as far as acting and script. It was a great movie.
I just couldn't finish watching a movie this badly acted (and scripted). And it wasn't just Mario who was not a good actor.
