Oh Judd, disappointing
12 April 2008
I watched this film after I got kicked out of rec. Which looked much better and was. The film disappointing especially because of the high quality films Apatow usually puts out there.

Starts of with the kids getting bullied and finding a "bodygaurd" who will work cheap. It has morals like all the other Judd Apatow films yet these morals are so in your face, it's incredibly annoying. The plot is predictable from the start and The actors playing the kids are annoying, bad at acting and very strange looking (I couldn't keep my eye off the small kid with braces, he was so strange looking it was distracting) all rolled into one.

However, if you can get past this, the film has some funny yet forgettable moments. Most of these involving Owen Wilson who is the angel of this below average movie. He has a great charisma about him in all his films, however he needs some sparring partner to hit lines off rather than a bunch of strange looking 14 year old kids.

In conclusion, the film is below average yet has some funny parts, most of them becoming overshadowed by the poor acting and predictable plot. Highly Disappointing for a Apatow film.

Not as good as you think it would be
25 August 2007
When I saw this at a shop I thought it looked really good and original. Like Wolfs Creek meets Texas chainsaw massacre, and I mean it only cost three quid (around $6). To be honest I don't think it was even worth that.

It seemed like the directors- the 'butcher brothers' couldn't decide whether wanted to do a artsy sort of horror or a gory slasher horror. It ended up with a cliché ridden gory sadistic hour and fifteen minutes with all the characters being one dimensional and you couldn't care less what happened to them but to try to make the audience care about the characters they added a useless monologue at the end and the beginning of the film which to be perfectly honest wasn't needed.

The only good part really was the middle/end- I won't ruin it for you. But that was the only "good "part.

Overall a pointless watch. It felt like a two hour film but was in fact only 75 minutes. If you want an artsy film-don't bother. If you want a slasher movie- don't bother- The film moves so slowly with nothing ever happening.

Warning: Spoilers
this has got to be the funniest shows ever- I was wondering when they were going to do a hilariously funny and rude show with stop-start but thought it would be the south park dudes would start it but this is the funniest show yet- the writing is pure genius the way they mix films in with like children's TV shows-i dunno if thats a spoiler or not but oh well. Seth Green is brilliant but you can easily recognise his voice, i thought he was great in Family Guy and he is great in this I hope they do many more seasons because there just isn't anything that great out there anymore sure there are some funny stuff but not as funny as what these guys did.
