One Day (2024)
LIFE
I came to watch this tv series with very little expectation, having only a vague recall of the older movie version. The first 3 episodes summed up the giddiness and wide-eyed hope usually associated with youth. I loved how I was pulled in to wanting Emma and Dexter to somehow get together.
The middle episodes were so captivating. U could feel the characters getting lost along their path of life.
The last 2 episodes were just brutal. Heart-wrenchingly raw and beautifully acted. It felt so real to me that I had to finish the entire series in one sitting. This was simply produced, cast and acted out to perfection. Kudos to the entire production.
Absolutely fantastic!
Tangled (2022)
Great movie
Loved the book and the movie did justice to it.
The actress for kate was spot on. She was great in her delivery and timing. Felt very natural. Evan was a little overacted but the story pulled it back enough. The comedic scenes were great and just as funny as i pictured it happening while reading the original book. Dialogue and sequence of events were true to the book which fans appreciate :)
I think this may be the best of the passionflix book adaptations. Hoping there is a sequel but it probably doesn't need it. Guess I'm just a fan of miss emma chase.
A solid 7 stars for me. Would recommend to other rom com aficionados.
The Serpent Queen (2022)
Subtle but powerful
I was hooked from the first episode and binged watched it in 2 days. Excellent tv series. Catherine Medici was such a complex and powerful figure in history. This series gave us a glimpse into how women yielded their soft powers during the era.
The actress Samantha Morton was simply divine. Her soft spoken delivery of dialogue was chilling and on point throughout the whole season. I was so captured by the scenes that after the first episode, she became THE Catherine Medici. The mark of a truly spectacular actress.
I could not recommend this tv series more. You will surely not be disappointed. Looking forward to season 2.
The Last Kingdom: Episode #4.4 (2020)
Wow
Wow. Simply WOW. S04E04 was the best episode thus far. Intrigue, uncertainty, fear, hope, faith and bravery all coalescing into an epic battle that was one for the books. How can they possibly top this?? This is a tv series done right.
