Bloodborne (2015)
Special
This is my first game from From Software and boy, what a maaserpiece. Haven't even finished yet but it has a special place in my gaming heart already.
Be prepared to die, hundreds of times. And more. Frustration. Impossible. But for some reason you keep coming back. For more deaths. And then it happens. You kill that boss, that satisfaction!!
This kind of challenge used to be standard in good old games so it's really refreshing to witness it again. A lot of new gamers are soft.
Bloodborne wins it on more fronts. The gameplay is astonishing, it's such a joy to use the weapons and fight all those different creatures. And there is a lot of types of them so you have to use different strategies everytime you open new area.
Graphics are great. The detail on the beasts is wow.
Innovative storytelling where the protagonist doesn't say a word and you basically create your own view on the world with witnessing all the cues/notes/messages.
Great sound design and soundtrack especially when fighting bosses.
But the horror and challenge is the main thing.
So well done. You can see the developers love games and man they put a lot of love in creating this.
Hats down.
Cyberpunk 2077 (2020)
Average
Waited a year to play this to make sure it will be fixed.
Played on both ps4 pro and ps5 and even on 5 it still has some glitches, they didn't bother me. I laughed on most of them anyway.
Pros:
Graphics
Night City really is cool
Cons:
Writting/screenplay
Soundtrack
No option to change from 1st person to 3rd person perspective
The development of the game feels rushed
Glitches are not the issue in this game. Despite trying to be groundbreaking and don't take me wrong, the story and world could easily be revolutional but for some reason, it just doesn't cut for me. Full respect to all involved in making this game, ofcourse, but in my humble subjective opinion, the writting is not memorable. Feels forced and the characters just are not strong enough.
For game like this I think the story is most important to be executed well.
Yeah the graphics are, as Keanu says it, breathtaking. But that's it. Even the soundtrack feels annoying. And hey, I love music, always put music louder than sound effects but this game is first where I just couldn't listen to any radio when driving.
Is it worth playing? For me: Sorry but no.
But I am sure it will find its fans.
Rather replay games such as Witcher 3, RDR2, Mass Effect Trilogy, God of War and such.
Steph's Packed Lunch (2020)
Garbage
Typical British garbage these days. I know it's not easy do this kind of stuff but they should rather not air it if they seen it's bad.
Red Dead Redemption II (2018)
Masterpiece
This is such a masterpiece, one of its kind games. It's like playing a movie with mesmerizing graphics, stories and narrative. Arthur Morgan - the best character, such a joy to play as him even he couldn't survive the story which really left me sad...
Rockstar released a legend. I am speechless
