Monster High (2022)
I mean...I guess
Whitewashing Clawdeen, making Ghoulia verbal and Lagoona Blue being a pink mean girl....the list goes on and on. Clawdeen and Deuce, no thank you. Feels like they felt she needed a love interest simply because she was the star. I miss the goal driven, no time for dating Clawdeen. I see the potential this movie had. But at the end of the day I don't know what Nickelodeon was trying to do, but this isn't it. Feels like a wannabe Descendants movie. Ending was predictable. I've been a fan of Monster High since the beginning and this movie acts like it didn't have 10 years of source material to use. I don't hate it, I would watch it again, but I don't like it either. New Monster High fans probably would appreciate it more than life long fans. But that's just my opinion. 5/10 because the music was decent, and it kept the Monster High message of loving our differences.
Fruits Basket (2019)
My Favorite Adaptation
The original 2001 adaptation is what got me into anime. But the ending always left me unsatisfied, especially after reading the manga. This by far is the best "remake" of an anime I have seen. Fruits Basket finally get to be told in all it's glory. The animation is beautiful, the pacing is a tad rushed but the key parts are all there. It's nice that all the original voice actors are back. The storyline is well done, and it's sticks close to the manga. I recommend this anime for any first time watchers as well. The story is a complex, and not predictable. Many plot twists and shocking Revelations, all the characters are relatable in some way. 10/10.
Bridgerton (2020)
It was okay
I love historical fiction, but this just didn't sit right with me. I enjoyed the first couple of episodes and then the show just got boring. They used sex to make things interesting and "spice" the storyline up, but I didn't think the main characters had very much chemistry, so the sex scenes were boring. Plus I know this is an unpopular opinion but Daphne 100% committed spousal rape. Daphne held Simon down while having sex forcing him to give her a baby. And the look she gave him afterwards made me sick. Thankfully I was prepared for this scene since research on the show warned me. On the flip side Simon should have been honest and told her he simply didn't want children, and not that he couldn't. A trigger warning needs to be added to the beginning of the episode. The one thing that I found fascinating was how uneducated women were about life, and why education, especially education about women's bodies and sex is so important. This isn't a show I will find myself watching over and over like Downton Abbey, and it had so much potential. The costumes, music and sets were beautiful, but it lacked direction. I think reading the books would be more entertaining and fill in the gaps.

50 Shades meets the mafia and trades his wips for guns.....
Let me start off by saying I was confused most of the time during this movie. And if I had to choose between this and 50 shades I would definitely pick 50 shades. The acting was not the best, but it still kept me entertained enough to finish the movie. The first half of the movie was very rapey and depicted women as nothing but sex objects. Shoot The first sex scene was rape, but made to look like the woman was enjoying it. The main male character was decent looking, but definitely a stalker and literally kidnapped the main character. I would call this a case of Stockholm syndrome, where the girl only feel in love with the guy and had sex with him simply because he saved her from drowning. And the reason she almost drowned was his fault for backing her up against the rails of the boat. She falls in love and totally forget he was throwing her around a room just a few minutes ago. While I wouldn't say I enjoyed the film it was interesting in the sense i felt I had to know how it ends, and given the storyline i think the ending was befitting. The camera shots were amazing, as was the scenery and set designs. While there were elements of 50 shades in the film, you really can't compare the two. There was one scene he cuffed her to the bed, and made her watch "what she was missing" . Let's just say it wasn't boring, and I would watch again since there were several different languages being used in sure I missed stuff, but it's nothing to call home to tell mother about.
