Last Christmas (2019)
A dear sweet story, unforgettable
Really wonderful watching Emilia in such a role, she is doing a lovely character, very pleased with her presentation. She is wonderfully enhancing all the scenes. Emma also lovely and brilliantly moving in her role. Do not know much about the British societies but this movie covers a few topics that I understand could preoccupy the people. Eventually, those are topics that regard all of the societies and this is beautiful in this movie. Lots of nice scenes, the photography is very interesting. Night and colourful lights and cold weather in the city where a young woman works and finds herself not comfortable. She is trying to reach what her childhood memories indicating but life shows another path for her. The story unfolds slowly and extremely beautifully through every scene. A meaning comes up continuously and the spectator is caught up. There is not a chance to feel bored. It comes a sweetness for life with this film. A precious feeling of contacting with people that life brought around. It is not about gifts and shinny holiday. Soul and heart release a fantastic human energy in the process. The actors the production the screenplay the costumes the whole company of people creating this film have done a gorgeous job. Not a wasted line, words come naturally and dialogs bind with the places and characters to give not entertainment but feelings. The intensity of the feelings generated is so cleansing that the mind cannot avoid asking for a re-watch after a few days. Families couples singles friends can find a piece of gold for themselves in this story. Love it when such movies define cinematography. Enjoy !
John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum (2019)
Impressive but too much
A great continuation of the survival path of John. The photography is simply beautiful. The locations connect together and move the story without any disappointment. Very satisfying that the character is traveling overseas. The world of John is steadily revealing itself to the spectator. The plot comes to be very violent. John is escaping. Seeks exit so he turns for help to his past. Somehow doing so he is getting deeper into the war. The war which has sparked among the power hungry players. He battles all the way. He is respected thus highly priced, an unmatched pawn. Only his dog is unconditionally faithful to him. A lot of good work has been done for this movie. Nevertheless, it inspires a few times. Mostly it is like a bus ride for sightseeing. The battle interactions overwhelm the characters' interactions. Also, it is as a gambling game that will never end. Might be that the story is diverging a bit too much from the initial idea. New characters, more administrative involvement, lots of guns and combat tech. Choreographies are not impressive after a certain point. The executions are like signatures in the action sequences. Bonus material movie is long but it can entertain well and probably give a better picture of John's world. Conflict scenarios are extremely well thought and give much value to the film. Gunfight challenges image and John learns. Will not consider it a virtual game copy. It keeps somehow the motion picture quality. This is the magic coming from this movie: it won't pass the into comic or game territory. Personally, watched it plenty of times. Enjoy!
The World's Greatest Lover (1977)
Unforgettable movie
A motion picture which causes reactions even if it is not watched for a period of time. Last time I watched this film it was summer now Christmas is approaching fast. I missed it. I put it on my daily list with a reminder. I cannot give up this movie. I was so young when I first watched it on tv.
It's pure , tells the truth , picks the fun out of stressful situations. It's a masterpiece of bringing together characters out of order , building a concrete storyline, making sense , printing scenes of incredible cinematography all that and more without becoming boring uninteresting out of time.
There's nothing to discuss of the actors: adorable acting so precise and comprehensive so much flavor comes out of their being in this movie.
To me a whole era is revealed by watching those people doing whatever each of them has to do so as to be a precious piece of that puzzle.
It's silent movies meeting sound and colors.
The characters meet on the set and plot using their dreams their duties their realities. Stars of silent movies producers who seek the future and a lovely couple all find a way in the cinematography world.
Transformers: The Last Knight (2017)
A pileup of noise and blabbering
Never expected it to be so bad. The dialogs are limited in a few words and phrases which indicate no plot at all no story but the usual excuses. Things go down and around so fast because there are no actual points to consider. Noise is top again maybe a bit less this time. The pictures are clearer so the spectator can figure out who is who what is what etc. though it is not a motion picture in the end rather than a long collage of montaged clips.
I did not enjoy at all. The numbers justify them on the other hand. The gross seems to be more than double the budget. Strange. Good for the people who worked for that movie.
Always good Mark does his part. Hopkins is perfect even in this mess of a movie.
The tech stuff are superb but can't concern me much when I watch a movie. Who likes them will have lots of good fun.
Nothing to expect for another part of similar transformers movie. They should try something new under a complete different logic.
This was a flash read of a comic book not a motion picture.
The Walking Dead: Heads Up (2015)
Not interesting
Somehow this season is flat. Nothing goes forward and episodes are filled with lots of blabbering. It's expected to have less action but not bring it to the level of a soap opera. It seems there is an extremely great effort to build a robust plot which will support the following seasons.
This blah blah is very disappointing and mostly shows big acting flaws. Scenes where actors are trying to look serious and aggressive are just pathetic. Not to mention the emotional melancholic scenes with plenty of patronizing.
At some point it looks as if the actors are moving from a fast food shop to the set. They can't keep an atmosphere when they simplify everything.
Whatever they were trying to fiction for this season failed and it feels a waste of time watching those episodes. They don't have arguments rather plenty of gags.
The Terror (2018)
A wonderful tv series
Not often I come across to such beautiful tv series. This is a story of real events told in a magnificent way. A contemporary telling with an old times spirit. By the effort of the production I can only deduct that they have done a superb job. Picture costumes sceneries dialogues scripts environments actors all is so well combined and presented that I'm watching it again and again.
It's a guys' movie.
Music is absolutely fitting this story.
